Why Early Access?

“A Bad Game Of Football has been in development for about a year, and it's starting to feel not that bad anymore! Admittedly, we still want to add a bit more content and loads more of polish, but after several enjoyable in-house and public playtests we think it is time to get some real world feedback on the game. Also, launching the same date as FIFA 23 seemed like an idea so genuinely bad we just had to do it! Let the Battle Of Titans begin!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“For about half a year. We plan on it being out of Early Access some time during spring 2023.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The core mechanics are in place already, and will not change very much. For the full release, expect more coaches and arenas as well as more polish, flare and improved technical stability. Also we plan on adding more content and features to the game after the full release. By joining the Early Access, you will take part in the journey towards a fun, feisty and robust game foundation that we can build upon for as long as there are bad football players in the world!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Core gameplay works really well! We are still working on some edge case bugs and on creating more content. During the Early Access, expect the base game, 3 coaches and 3 arenas to choose from. These coaches and arenas are all subject to balancing and other changes based on your feedback and/or our own in-house whims.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. Right now the plan is to increase the price a little. But not by much. So there is no rush for you to get the game right now to secure a good deal! We hope that if you join the Early Access it is because you wish to contribute with feedback on the game, and the lower Early Access price is meant to reflect our appreciation of your contributions!”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“While not totally blank, we must admit that we are neither football nor RTS experts. We would like to welcome anyone who has even the slightest insight into these domains to share their opinions and ideas for gameplay spoofs on our Discord. A Bad Game of Football is supposed to be a light hearted homage to the innocent ball play of our youth, while poking fun at modern day commercial soccer. So let’s have some fun with it! (Spoiler alert: We’re winging this weird a** game of ours, but it’s turning out great!)
