Why Early Access?

“We wish for Airship: Kingdoms Adrift to be developed alongside the feedback from our players and community to make it one of the best strategy-simulation airship games you’ve ever played. With this mission in mind, the launch of Early Access will allow for a much greater audience to help us test the game and expand its features before the official release of the game.

Though the core mechanics and systems are completed as planned before the early access, we have learned through our intensive Alpha and Beta period that the feedback and suggestion from our community are very crucial to the development and the expansion of the features to meet the desired expectations. There still are tons of content we wish to deliver and the early access will allow us to work in this progressive manner.

Airship: Kingdoms Adrift is our passion and it continued to be a fantastic experience for us over the past few years. We are thrilled to march into the final phase of this game together with our players. If you would prefer to wait a little bit longer and hold off until the final release, the finished product. Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect it to be completed by the end of 2023, which is considered to be between 8 - 12 months of the development time we need and to be in the early access. With that being said, the set date for a full release may be shifted depending on the expansion of the contents as well.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The early access version already contains a good amount of content that will keep players engaged for many hours. Though it is ready and quite stable to play, players can expect to run into some bugs and some other issues while playing that we’d hope to fix before the full release. Some ports, items, and NPCs may be using a placeholder, reused materials, and lacking supporting features. It may not give players the full experience of Airship: Kingdoms Adrift as we expected. Still, it certainly does not disrupt the experience of enjoying the core mechanic of the game.

According to our roadmap, the full version will contain:
- A complete 13 chapters of the main story
- Fleet against fleet battle
- Manufacturing features
- Buildable facilities
- Modding support
- All 12 regions of the Suthseg Kingdoms
- Multiplayer Mode

The main story will be gradually updated and released during early access along with the development of other planned features. More content is possible to be added in the full version after an adequate amount of feedback and suggestions we received from players during early access. We plan to refine and polish the existing game as well as expand the late game with additional content, the improvement of UI, and user experience as we progress.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core systems and features are playable, an estimated at least 60 hours of gameplay for players to enjoy which includes the main story from prologue until chapter 2, a great number of side quests or the side story, and a sandbox experience to explore the map and decent amount of ports.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community has been an important part of our development for years. Since the Alpha and Beta period, we have gathered crucial feedback and suggestions that helped shape the design and development of many details in the game.

We always look out for any comments and feedback from both our Discord community and on Steam community. We planned to offer constant events and updates to keep the community engaged and having a good experience both inside and outside the game.”
