What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Dragon Hunters is an adapted version of a Fantasy Dice Table-Top Board Game created and designed by Scott Mayo in 2001. This game focuses on Local Player vs Player(2-4) as each player takes turns and races against each other around Three Dungeon Levels, which consists of 5-7 different Game Boards with different types of Combat Scenes, towards the Dragon's Lair. The Players objective is to gain Gold to Level Up by defeating Monsters, drawing different tile cards, unlocking new Dungeon Levels, and defeating the Dragon first. To gain access to new Dungeon Levels, the Players must find and defeat Guardians to unlock the next Dungeon Level. Once the Level Three Guardian is defeated, a player may open the Dragon Lair Level. Each Game Board consists of different tiles or Cards to draw; Item Cards, Treasure Cards, Throne Cards, Monster Cards, Door Cards, Guardian Cards.

In our adapted version we do offer Single Player and Local Multiplayer Modes. In Single Mode the player has Free Movement and is able to battle against the Monsters and make their way towards the Dragon. The Single Player may also choose to play up to Four Characters. If two or more players are decided, then each player is allowed a Turn, which consists of Rolling for Movement, Drawing Item or Monster Cards, then declaring their turn has ended. If two or more joysticks are detected, the players will be asked to assign joysticks in order of desired turns. Joysticks can always be re - assigned during gameplay. (Example, Joystick 2 may want to play Player 1, and Joystick 1 on Player 2).

Our main focus for the next 3-6 months after Early Access release is implementing 1 Player Online Mode, which the players can Join and Create Private rooms with their friends and family.

In this Turn-Based Strategy game, the Camera consists of Overhead and Third Person angles. During Movement play, the camera resides overhead with zooming and movement capabilities. During Combat, the player is taken to a new 3D Visual Landscape, with a controlled Third Person Camera, depending on the Dungeon Level. This game offers real Dice Physics for all rolling. No behind the scene random generator decides the outcome. As the players level up, more dice are granted and able to roll.

Dragon Hunters allows up to four players, and four different Fantasy Classes to choose from with each different Abilities and Restrictions: Fighter, Cleric, Wizard, and Thief. Each player has their own Inventory and Utilities Belt. In the Inventory, the character can see their statistics, character restrictions or abilities, items found, and also socket Magic Gems to increase their Armor or Strength. The Utilities Belt holds different Potions, Scrolls, and Stealing Gloves. Certain Items can only be used at certain points in the Player's Turn. For example, a Potion of Attack can only be used during Combat.

Dragon Hunters offers Keyboard and Mouse functionality, as well as up to Four Xbox style controllers. The controllers can be re -assigned during gameplay in the Settings menu, or while using the controllers when starting a new game.

Our main focus at our Studio, is to create group style games. We always find games more enjoyable when able to play with friends and family either at the same home, or across the world.

We want to thank you for your support and know we will continue to work hard to improve the quality of our products!

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to be in Early Access for about 6 to 12 more months. We will be working hard to implement Online Game Rooms, as well as expanding the levels with new Combat Scenes, Monsters, and Dragons.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Dragon Hunters will have both Local and Online PVP features, involving Custom Server Rooms and chat capabilities. We also plan to implement two new Dungeon Levels with two new Combat Scenes, Monsters, and Dragons.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

The game consists of Three different Dungeon Levels, which represent different mood or themes. Each Level has 6-7 Board Pieces which can be accessed by the Door Tile. The board pieces can be rotated and laid down in different fashions creating a different Board Landscape each Game.

There are over 30 different monsters to battle with random Combat Scenes for each Dungeon Level. The game consists of over 20 items to find, and 15 Character Levels for each Player.

Players may Buy Items and Levels at Inns, which the players will always start at the beginning of the game.

Players may play locally up to 4 players and joysticks.”

About This Game

Based off a Dice Rolling Fantasy Board Game designed by Scott Mayo, Dragon Hunters immerses you in a world with over 30 different monsters to battle!

Race against your friends and family deep through dungeons while gaining Items, Strength, and Levels. The player has the option to choose between a Fighter, Thief, Cleric, or Wizard. Retrieve magic gems and equip them to increase your Strength and Armor! Find and defeat Guardians to gain access to different Levels as you search for the Fire Dragon! Use gold at the Inn to purchase items or Level Up. The first player to defeat the Dragon wins!

Dragon Hunters currently offers Local Multi-Player with Keyboard/Mouse and full controller support, up to four players. Each player is allowed a turn which involves Rolling for Movement, Battling Monsters, and Drawing Item Cards. The player has access to their Utility Belt which carries potions and items.
