What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I believe everyone can get the best experience with the feedback of those players who play the title during the game’s development. It is vital to get the game into people’s hands as early as possible so the game can involve in the best way possible.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I plan to keep this title in Early Access for 1 year. This can change based on community involvement. As a solo developer, I want to be as flexible as possible.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Feature and content scope will grow with each update.
Content growth is the main scope of Early Access. More buildings, enemy types, gear, and so on.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable. It is in an unpolished state.
Most of the intended features are included. But I believe there are many ways this game can grow further.
List of currently available features are in the "About This" section”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I don't plan to change the price after Early Access.
The only case this might happen is if the scope changes massively during the Early Access stage.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“As a solo developer, I need the full involvement of the public to ensure that I continue to make the game that the community wants and enjoys playing.”

About This Game

In the great city of Serenus, there stands an ancient ludus, where brave gladiators train and prepare for battle. You have been chosen as the guardian of this ludus, responsible for managing the training, equipping, strategizing, and buying armor and weapons of each fighter. Your goal is to create the ultimate gladiator, who will bring glory to Serenus in the arena.
You will use all your skills to ensure your gladiators are the best they can be. You will train them in combat techniques, forge armor and weapons, scout for new recruits, and manage the performance of your gladiators in the arena. You will also need to periodically visit the market to buy armor and weapons, hire workers, recruit new gladiators, and keep the ludus well-maintained.
As you progress further into the game, you will be able to unlock special abilities and upgrade your gladiators. You will also be able to fight against other gladiators as the player character. With every win, you will gain prestige and rewards that you can use to improve your gladiators further. You will take on harder and tougher opponents while also competing against other ludus owners in tournaments.
With a careful balance of strategy and management, you will eventually become the master of a powerful gladiator team that will surge through the Serenus arenas and bring glory to your ludus. The fate of the great city of Serenus lies in your hands!
