Lead a handful of survivors through the zombie apocalypse. Raise a colony from the ruins, ration every scrap of food and water, research lost tech, and hold the line against night hordes — and raiders who want their cut. Every survivor ages, sickens, and matters. How long can your camp last?

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“CorruptedZ is a systems-driven colony sim, and those systems only truly reveal their rough edges when real players push on them in ways I can't predict alone. As a solo developer, Early Access lets me balance the survival economy, difficulty, and pacing against how people actually play — and grow the game in the directions the community cares about most, rather than guessing in isolation. The core loop is complete and stable; Early Access is about deepening and refining it together.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I expect CorruptedZ to be in Early Access for roughly six to twelve months, though I'd rather leave it a little longer and get the balance and content right than rush a 1.0 to hit a date. The timeline will flex based on player feedback and the scope of features that resonate with the community.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to keep expanding CorruptedZ's depth and replayability during Early Access. Areas I hope to grow include: more end-game and post-victory content so a successful colony has reasons to keep playing; additional threats and enemy variety beyond the current zombies and raiders; deeper survivor relationships building on the traits and aging systems; more buildings and upgrade paths; and continued balance, polish, and quality-of-life improvements. My aim for the full version is a richer, more replayable game — but I want to shape the specifics alongside player feedback rather than lock them in up front.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“CorruptedZ is fully playable from start to finish right now. You can generate a fresh seeded map, build and staff a complete colony, and manage survivors with individual needs, traits, illness, and full life stages — from children born in the camp to elders reaching the end of their lives. The game includes a day/night cycle, four seasons with weather, escalating zombie hordes with distinct variants, a raider extortion system, hunting and farming economies, expeditions, trading, a deep research tree, corpse-disposal and disease mechanics, difficulty modes, save/load, and a Radio Tower win condition with a final siege. It is a complete and stable experience — Early Access is about balancing, polishing, and expanding it, not finishing a skeleton.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to gradually increase the price as CorruptedZ grows with new content and features during Early Access. Players who join early will get the game at its lowest price and receive all future updates as part of their purchase.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will directly guide CorruptedZ's development. I plan to use the Steam Community Hub and discussion forums to gather balance feedback, bug reports, and feature suggestions, and to share what I'm working on next. As a solo developer I can respond and adapt quickly — where a system feels off or players want something more, that feedback will shape what I build next.”

About This Game

The world ended. Your colony is what comes next.**

CorruptedZ is a colony-survival sim set in the aftermath of the outbreak. You don't play a hero — you manage a fragile band of survivors trying to turn a patch of wasteland into a home that lasts through the winter, the hordes, and each other.

**BUILD FROM THE RUINS**

Claim a procedurally generated map and raise it piece by piece — wood camps, water docks, forager huts, workshops, watchtowers, and walls. Assign survivors to the work that keeps everyone breathing, and lay out a camp that can actually defend itself.

**EVERY SURVIVOR MATTERS**

Your people get hungry, thirsty, exhausted, sick, and scared. They carry traits — a Night Owl works better after dark, a Green Thumb grows more food, the Frail break down faster under pressure. They age from children into workers, elders reach the end of their lives, and new survivors are born into the colony. Lose one and you feel it.

**THE DEAD DON'T STAY DOWN**

Ambient wanderers by day, escalating hordes by night. Fast runners and hulking brutes force your defenses to evolve, not just multiply. Bodies left rotting in the open spread sickness — dig a disposal pit or pay the price in disease.

**NOT EVERY THREAT IS UNDEAD**

Raider bands scout your stockpile and demand tribute. Pay them off and you're marked as an easy target for bigger demands. Refuse, and they come for it after dark. Earn a reputation for biting back, and the wasteland learns to leave you alone.

**SURVIVE THE SEASONS**

Spring rains, summer heat, and killing winters change what your colony needs. Set traps for rabbits, deer, and boar; research the tech to farm, preserve food, and fortify; send expeditions into the ruins for supplies and lost survivors; trade surplus for what you're short on.

**BROADCAST FOR RESCUE**

Push through a deep research tree toward the Radio Tower — and survive the final siege it draws to your gates. Every run is a fresh seed, and higher difficulties turn the wasteland genuinely hostile.
