What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to keep on developing our games with the community. Infection Free Zone was announced very early in its development and we feel that now is the right time to share the fruits of our labor. Early Access will give us the right amount of freedom to experiment with some new solutions while gathering rapid feedback from our community.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We would like to release the game after approximately one year of Early Access. This decision may change due to player feedback, which we take very seriously. Depending on the number and size of changes that we consider critical, the time in Early Access may be extended.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“While we have some plans for the story and want to introduce new buildings and transmissions to the game, we want Infection Free Zone to remain a game that is developed together with the community.

The most important thing for us is to provide players with an immersive experience that will allow them to defend any city in the world against hordes of infected. We also want to provide players with the right tools so that they can influence their gameplay as much as possible. However, we are aware that there are many ways to achieve this - so we want to test them together with our community.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game currently has all the critical features to allow unlimited gameplay on real-life locations. There are over 50 implemented events (with voiceovers), and 25 different structures to construct.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to increase the pricing of the game when it transitions from Early Access to Full Launch. Early Access will also receive seasonal discounts and a launch discount.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are providing the players with:

- An in-game "Bug Reporter" tool to report any bugs found in the game,
- Access to additional testing branches on Steam, that contain experimental builds,
- Questionnaires to provide us with detailed feedback on the game,
- Access to the Discord server where the players can directly talk to us about their experience with Infection Free Zone.”

About This Game

“The Mad Virus” has spread throughout the world with the speed of jet planes. The infected are highly aggressive, fast and strong.
In a couple of weeks, society collapsed. Cities are empty. There is no electricity, no water, and no food. Yet, there are a few survivors...

Type in the name of the city or town, download the map and start playing! Thanks to OpenStreetMap’s real-world data you can choose any place in the world for your survivors.

Establish a new “Infection Free Zone” wherever you choose. Set up shelters and production facilities. Adapt existing buildings to new needs. Build new farms and power houses. Establish defenses with walls, gates, and towers.

Utilize your knowledge of the city. What is the best place to defend? Where were the grocery stores, where were the pharmacies? Where would you look for weapons?
Remember that it’s dangerous to search the old buildings, there might be some infected lurking in the dark!

Each night your settlement might be attacked by large hordes of the infected. Fight them off with every tool available - melee and ranged weapons, vehicles, walls and light. Research a vaccine or a cure for ultimate victory, or just enjoy rebuilding entire cities!

Your Zone is not the only one that exists. Your survivors will surely find other surviving groups. Some will be friendly and willing to trade, but others will be extremely hostile. There might be some fighting involved!
