About This Game

Welcome to the vast and mystical world of Akatori, a captivating blend of classic metroidvania and intense action platformer. Beyond the war-torn Land of the Emerald Peaks lies the parent of all worlds, the cradle of gods, and the source of virtually infinite energy - the Kohakujō. After millennia of tranquility, someone has seized the power of this place: alas, not with the best of intentions.

You will play as Mako, a teenage girl raised in the Firebird Temple, who embarks on a journey through all the worlds to find the ancient gods in hope of saving her homeland, as well as the entire universe.

A mysterious red bird sealed in a staff will accompany you on this adventure. While its background and motives are yet unknown, the staff it can transform into may prove useful: it can be a weapon to crush enemies or a tool to navigate and explore every corner of the places you'll visit.

Key features

  • Switch between staff and fists to defeat any foe

Akatori's unique combat system is based on a combination of staff and fist strikes. Combine, adapt, and swap fighting styles on the fly to balance their strengths and weaknesses and get the most out of your arsenal.

  • Explore the huge in-game world

The Akatori universe consists of over 10 biomes, each at a different stage of historical development and inhabited by its own unique species. Explore all these worlds, meet their residents and discover their secrets.

  • Make your way through Kohakujō

Once home to ancient gods, Kohakujō is now a parched rocky wasteland that connects all other worlds to each other. It morphs and gets more hazardous as you spend time in it, so be on your guard and get ready to encounter plenty of dangers on your path.
