What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We have a game with varying vehicles that require skill to drive. We would like to do a slower launch so that we can proof out a balancing for those vehicles. This also being our first multiplayer title we would like to ensure our multiplayer match making is working as intended and players can find games quickly and efficiently. We would also like to create a community passionate about providing feedback and implementing updates from that community. We also know that different players have different skill levels and we want to have a system in place that allows for the competitive players to finish a race and not have extended periods of waiting for the race results.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are hoping to keep the game in Early Access for a short period approximately 2-3months. Enough time to grow our following and proof out our multiplayer and Balancing.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“What we are hoping to achieve is a steady balance of vehicles that offer a competitive race. We also hope to proof out our multiplayer servers and that match making fills each game with as many players as possible.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is completely operational. We suspect there will be a long delay on match making as population grows. We ask that if you wish to do multiplayer to join our discord server for better ques and more full racing. We are currently in the process of adding and generating more content and more vehicle upgrades. You may see some things incomplete from an art perspective or ever changing level design to make the tracks more efficient and competitive. We will be adjusting a lot of the in game economy as we gain more player feedback. We are also slow launching vehicles each week until full launch date.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will be discounted during early access while we take player feed back and make adjustments. The Vehicle Content will also increase as we move forward. The people with early access will have an easier time acquiring in game content prior to launch for testing and balancing. Meaning they can obtain more for less time investment while we balance winnings and price points.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are hopping people will follow our website and news channel for bug tracking and ticket awareness. We hope they will join our discord server and communicate with us directly. We have a system of gifting content to help users and players who can participate actively in our updates and content additions.”

About This Game

Torqued Up Legends is an arcade style, multiplayer racing game. It is not a realistic racing game. We use a nitro boosting system which allows for cars to take down slow or crashed opponents. The nitro is designed to be a recovery tool, a catch up mechanic, and a weapon. Crashes and spin outs happen often and are expected. The game is a kart racer with a flair for real world driving mechanics. The vehicles should be thought of as notorious or infamous personas with out any sort of real world counter part. The vehicle engines are all relatively close in speed and performance and each upgrade simply increases its current stats. We have a large library of cosmetic upgrades, with global leader boards and working towards individual vehicle performance upgrades. We have a ranking and bidding system to make races more competitive and engaging. Your car will explode and your wheels will fly off in hilarious failure. The game is 2 parts frustrating and 3 parts that felt rewarding when things go well.
