“Less than one year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The early access release of Starboard will be complete from a design perspective. The full release will be more stable & include more content to enhance the core experience. The primary focus of the early access release is to find and address bugs & quality of life issues. Throughout development, more islands, mobs, items, base parts, and ship types will be added. Ship and player character customization options will grow throughout early access as well.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently, all major features (building, sailing, combat, crafting, raiding) described in the "About This" section are implemented with multiplayer support. However there are occasionally game breaking bugs, and they pop up too often to consider full release just yet. Dedicated server support is also not finished.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I have a subreddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/starboard/) where most feedback and discussion takes place. I want to know what the community thinks of new features, and I want to know what players would like to see added before release. I'll be actively listening to suggestions and ideas.”
