What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Bullets Are Fatal! has several features implemented and in progress, however we feel we still lack a sufficient amount of content. Furthermore, there are several features where we would like to get feedback from the community to decide in which direction to move the game. Being in Early Access will help us gauge the multiplayer aspect of the game as well, both in terms of networking infrastructure as well as the features and multiplayer game modes the community would be most interested in. Finally, there are several minor features that are in our backlog and we intend to prioritize those as well according to community feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“There is no specific target, there are two major open ends we are looking to tie down: the single-player ending and the multiplayer game modes. Once those two are deemed solved, we will have considered the game in full release state, which will probably take somewhere between 6 to 9 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will have a definite game ending for single-player mode as well as providing different multiplayer game modes for players to engage in.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game currently has two different sequential level templates in single-player mode, increasing in difficulty and introducing new enemies from one to the other. All levels are procedurally generated, so there is quite a lot of replayability. The game is intentionally quite difficult as well. Along with this, there are two weekly events that are automatically generated. The "Challenge" is where players compete in a specific map and ruleset for the top place in a leaderboard. The "Showdown" happens on the weekend, the first round is on Saturday, where players will have three attempts to beat a specific level. The time is registered and then on Sunday the players have the chance to continue each of the previously successfull runs. The best time is posted on a leaderboard.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“It depends on the amount of content introduced and the balance we are able to achieve between recurring costs and income. However if we do choose to change the price it will certainly be a small increase.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Our community will help shape the game in several ways. Firstly we will evaluate engagement in the different game modes as well as perform analytics on game play data. But more than that, players can take part in discussions and we will be monitoring these discussions to help inform us on which features are desired. These discussions take place mainly in our Discord server, as well as on our Steam Community page and we plan on extensively involving the community to help shape the game.”

About This Game

Come out with guns blazing. In this fast-paced action platformer with 2.5D graphics you’re placed in the Wild West, venturing through saloon rooms and floors looking for bandits and other enemies to gun down. Make use of the good old ricochets and place your shots for some trickshots, or just go full gung ho on them, your choice. But make sure your reaction time is on point, you will need it for the ensuing gun fights. Unleash your wicked skills with your fate energy, but save some for the showdown, where you will duel with a nasty outlaw.

Sidekicks

Enjoy the presence of a sidekick to aid you in your law-enforcement persuit. If you have two or more inputs (keyboard and controller) you can add a second player to the game mode or invite a friend to play through Steam Remote Play Together (at least one of the players must have a controller). Upcoming: AI-controlled sidekicks and online co-op.

Showdowns

Each time you defeat an outlaw in game mode you will learn that outlaw's signature skill to add to your own array or improve your knowledge of that skill if you already learned it. And by defeating outlaws in Showdown mode you will earn pieces of their clothes to add to your wardrobe, after all you have to be in style to fight crime!

Challenges

Take part in the weekly challenge and get your name on the very top of the leaderboard. Every Tuesday a new challenge starts for the upcoming week. It features the same level for everyone and a set of specific rules. Challenge the other vigilantes and see who gets the highest score to earn rewards at the end of each challenge.

Multiplayer

Fight against friends in a hectic "each-one-for-themself" multiplayer arena deathmatch where there is no law. Upcoming modes are king of the hill, and team-based matches in 3v3 capture the flag and 2v2 showdown.
