«Estranged: Arctic Cold is in Early Access because it is a work in progress. Early Access allows incremental updates to the game to be added over time, but also allows players to experience the content developed so far.

Estranged: The Departure was also released into Early Access, which allowed the community to directly follow and contribute to its development over 80 content updates until it was released.»

«The full version of the game is planned to include a complete story, with more environments and characters, and will provide a much longer playtime. Inspired by the Half-Life series, Estranged: Arctic Cold follows the story of a fisherman stranded in a mysterious Arctic facility. Experience the rich environments and captivating storytelling as you venture deeper into the facility.

A standalone sequel to Estranged: Act I (2014) and Estranged: The Departure (2020) continues the story of a shipwrecked fisherman, uncovering the secretive Arque Corporation, burrowing ever deeper into their dangerous and haphazard operations in the Arctic Cold.
