Miksi Early Access?

Estranged: Arctic Cold is in Early Access because it is a work in progress. Early Access allows incremental updates to the game to be added over time, but also allows players to experience the content developed so far.

Estranged: The Departure was also released into Early Access, which allowed the community to directly follow and contribute to its development over 80 content updates until it was released.

Miten kauan peli tulee arviolta olemaan Early Access -vaiheessa?

Act I took 3 years to make, The Departure took 6 years to make - since the project is a spare time project for a single developer, you should expect around 6 years for the completion of Arctic Cold (with incremental content updates throughout that time).

Millä tavoin lopullinen versio tulee eroamaan Early Access -versiosta?

The full version of the game is planned to include a complete story, with more environments and characters, and will provide a much longer playtime. Act I and The Departure include around 2 hours of gameplay, Arctic Cold is aiming to be around this long too. Currently the Early Access version offers around 30 minutes of gameplay.

Mikä on Early Access -version tila tällä hetkellä?

The Early Access version offers an early preview of the story, a standalone continuation of The Departure.

Note: since achievements will be added during development, this game is NOT suitable for achievement hunters.

Muuttuuko pelin hinta Early Access -vaiheen jälkeen?

As the game gains more content, the price will rise until the game is finished and it exits Early Access. The final pricing will likely be similar to The Departure.

A standalone sequel to Estranged: Act I (2014) and Estranged: The Departure (2020) continues the story of a shipwrecked fisherman, uncovering the secretive Arque Corporation, burrowing ever deeper into their dangerous and haphazard operations in the Arctic Cold.
