What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“While we're satisfied with what is currently available in The Cleanup Crew, we have a ton of ambitions for the game and the only way we feel comfortable attempting to reach our goals is within Early Access. Gathering feedback on what works, what doesn't and what is just plain stupid is invaluable to us. We don't feel it's "finished" and is far from perfect.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Approximately 8 months, but this is dependent on many factors such as Community Feedback, Planned Content Implementations, and Overall Satisfaction with The Cleanup Crew.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We want the game to be basically infinitely playable, with each Cleanup varying in what it has to offer. Not only that, we have longterm goals that we just can't reach in the short amount of time we've developed the game. We want to include additional features such as Player Cosmetics, Additional Lore Elements, More Equipment, More Items, More Upgrades, and even MORE Anomalies and Levels to explore.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“There are currently 10 levels, each with their own unique Anomalies, Lore, 15 Collectible Items (not including Notes), Upgrades that can be purchased with in-game currency that you earn from each Cleanup, Difficulty Scalings, and more.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“There will be a slight price increase from Early Access to Release, but it will not be an absolutely major amount. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Anything can change at any point in time and this is where the Community can step in to be that bridge that we possibly need to point The Cleanup Crew in the right direction.

If players would like to contribute feedback on anything, they are more than free to drop us a message on the Steam Forums, Join our Discord, or let us know on Twitter what we should change or not.”

About This Game

A store image banner stating in full capitalization: Welcome Cleaner.

Welcome Cleaners to your brand new, totally non-dangerous, prospective career! As part of the Cleanup Crew for <REDACTED> you are designated to go in after we have detected an entrant dying to an anomaly and retrieve vital components for us. These components will then be re-used on new entrants as part of the <REDACTED> Program. For the most part, you should be safe as any anomaly that has killed an entrant will more than likely ignore you. In case of emergencies where an anomaly does attempt to attack you, there are designated safe rooms which are safe against most anomalies. These safe rooms can sometimes contain vital equipment to ensure you continue on through the <REDACTED> Rooms, gathering these vital components for <REDACTED> Company. In case of injuries, dismemberment, or death: the <REDACTED> Company is not to be deemed liable as part of your contract you have officially signed when onboarding into the <REDACTED> Company. In case of any one of the above occurring and vital components are lost in the <REDACTED> Rooms, a new Cleanup Crew will be sent in to retrieve them.

A store image banner stating in full capitalization: Objectives.

Your job (in your new career) is to enter the LEVELS for Cleanup. During Cleanups you are to retrieve Components for The <REDACTED> Company and store them in Safe Rooms. The <REDACTED> Company is generous, giving you monetary compensation for each Component retrieved and sometimes providing Equipment to continue on.

A store image banner stating in full capitalization: Upgrades.

What can you do with that lovely monetary compensation? Why spend it back on new and unique company equipment! Upgrade various aspects of yourself such as Movement Speed, Health, Stamina or purchase Equipment to help you out in your traversals to retrieve Components! The possibilities are endless!

But... be careful...

A store image banner stating in full capitalization: Anomalies.

You are truly never alone. While you may be with your Crew exploring around, in the LEVELS are The Anomalies, various creatures who range in what they can do as well as their threat level. As you progress through the levels their threat level and the amount of them increase, you cannot fight them, but you can attempt to outrun, evade, or escape to The <REDACTED> Company's Safe Rooms. Patented to keep you safe. All Rights Reserved.

A store image banner stating in full capitalization: Your Crew.

Your Crew is your backbone, play up to 4 players total or bear it solo. The choice is yours. While the game is designed for up to 4 players, you can tough it out solo, as a duo, or with your trio as well with no penalty. The <REDACTED> Company just wants it's components back after all.

The only other objective? Survive.
