What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Our game is currently incomplete with only a single Environment designed alongside only one playable Race. However, we would still like the community to be able to play the game and give us feedback on the game's current development. We feel the current build is a fully playable version of the game, just lacking a considerable amount of the content we'd like to integrate.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Likely a year minimum; our primary obstacles in regards to development is both time and budget. Two very broad terms, but allow me to refine them. Developing all aspects of the game comes with a huge cost in time: from creation, to integration, to testing, to pushing. We must first design the idea, then integrate it, then test it. From there, we can finally deliver it to the player, and have it go through the normal balance cycle where we find this piece of content's true purpose. Environments, our core content, will likely take a while before we can begin them. We're still in the cycle of developing what an Environment consists of, but once that is fully established, proceeding with the further Environments should be a fairly smooth development experience. Developing a single environment from that point on could be fairly quick or it could take a few months per; we don't know at the moment. Our second concern is with Budget- games cost quite a bit to develop, and while we are currently offering the game completely free, we'll need to establish some alternative method of continuing the game's development.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Examples of this additional content include new Environments (We have 5 total planned: the Grove, Jungle, Seabed, Dragon's Lair, and Fragment's Lair) in addition to new Races (We have 3 total planned: the Mystics, Gyen, and Akelene). We'd also like to expand our Open World system to have more content and feel more filled; currently, the game focuses on combat and bosses, and we'd like to extend those aspects, possibly adding in more things like NPCs and Villages to interact with, among any other ideas we have yet to come up with. Lastly, we'd like to push our RPG-like elements, allowing for even greater customization of one's Warriors. The current system allows for one to improve their Unit's Stats (HP, Mana, Damage), but is currently fairly shallow and something we'd like to expand upon. It also allows for giving their Units new Spells, which we feel has a strong hold currently but still something we'd like to expand as new bosses and content enter the game.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Beta 2.0 expands upon our Game Festival Demo (Beta 1.0). We've integrated additional bosses with a dozen additional Sub-Environments and overall lots of new content and spells. The game currently stands at a fairly solid version with a decent amount of content integrated. More importantly, all our core content is in, so players should be able to get a fairly solid understand of how Fragment's Moonrise shall play. Its an open world game based around fighting many foes and bosses, and we feel we've established that premise quite well. Now its just about adding more and more content and expanding our concepts further.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Price may increase moderately when we release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Feel free to email me directly at: "yyanthire@yyanthire.com" with any bugs, critiques, concerns, or anything else pertaining to Fragment's Moonrise.

In addition, post anything relating to the game on our Reddit forum here: https://www.reddit.com/r/FragmentsMoonrise/

Any reviews we receive will be carefully read over and taken as serious criticism that we hope to address and push the game further with.

We'd like to see how other players play the game as well- if you post any gameplay videos anywhere (on YouTube, or anywhere else), definitely let us know! We'd love to check it out. We'll be monitoring YouTube in particular for any gameplay content, so we look forward to seeing anything you happen to create!”

About This Game

Gameplay Generalization: If you like games with a challenge (like Dark Souls or Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice), like open world games with almost complete freedom (like Terraria), like the micro-aspect of RTS-style games (like Starcraft 2), and like RPG games where you have an incredibly large amount of options for various playstyles (like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim), you'll feel right at home with Fragment's Moonrise. The game is as difficult as you make it; do you prefer minimal upgrades and few units for a serious challenge? You'll be in for a very hard game. Do you prefer upgrading things as far as you can take them? And making use of your newly-acquired wide variety of spells? The game will be quite simple. We've designed the game to be largely dynamic, but still have a core challenging aspect requiring you to dodge and control your units respectively, even if you are horrendously over-leveled.

Fragment’s Moonrise is a randomly generated open-world real-time strategy game, emphasizing spellcasting, micromanagement-oriented unit control, dodging, and overall fast-paced gameplay.

Explore a Randomly-Generated Open World-

The world is vast, and completely randomly generated. No two Maps are the same, allowing for an even greater replayability experience.

Gather Resources and Build an Army-

Use discovered resources to build your base and your army, and wage war against the vast enemies of this land. As you explore, you will fight powerful foes and acquire wondrous artifacts. Use these to bolster your army, research new spells, and advance your warriors even further down their class path.

Wage War-

At the heart of Fragment’s Moonrise is waging war against the multitudes of foes of the land.
  • Never stop moving- movement is key to avoiding attacks from enemies while still striking at them yourself.
  • Invoke powerful spells to your advantage- there are many different beings at your disposal, each with a multitude of unique spells. Making use of their talents is the only way to come out successful, and to defeat even the strongest of enemies.
