What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We have chosen the Early Access release to interact with the community during the final phase of the production of Dino Hazard. We already gained quite a lot of feedback from our increasing number of followers and we love this feedback.

We already have planned the entire structure of the final game, but we are excited to absorb what fans will contribute along the way. Our expected schedule is:

Major updates approximately every 2 months: Major updates include new buildings and facilities to explore and activate. It also includes new missions related to these complexes of the island. Major updates will come with announcements in the community.

Minor updates in-between major ones: Minor updates include new items, new equipment, new species, new skills, new gameplay elements, and art improvements.

Bug fixes: We will be ready to include fixes for any bugs people may encounter. There is no schedule for these updates because they depend on how many bugs occur between updates.

Schedule flexibility: This schedule is preliminary. Things may change, from when an update comes out to what appears in each. If there are too many minor updates in a certain month, we will merge them into one major update.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“This game will be released in 2023.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The final version will include a polished version of the open-world system. We will add new mechanics and game assets. We will also adapt the game design and gameplay according to our players' requests as much as possible. We will also include translations to other languages depending on the public interest.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“DINO HAZARD has already been in development for nearly three years because we wanted players to feel the most complete experience within an incomplete game. The current version includes 5/6 of the beta linear part of the narrative, moderately polished in design and gameplay. Most systems are working properly, just need more polishing. We also need more time to create more content and improve artistic elements, such as battlers and NPC animations. Provided below is a list of features and content that the game currently has. However, as we continue development in Early Access, this answer is subject to updates.

  • Complete game loop (Title screen to introduction cutscene to the first five chapters of the game. Dino Hazard is divided into six different parts like a book. The first four parts are mostly linear in the narrative.

  • 9 ecosystems in the beta stage (Permian, Triassic, Jurassic, Early Cretaceous, mid-Cretaceous, Late Cretaceous, Paleogene, Neogene, and Pleistocene).

  • 7 complete character classes with individual skills and unique weapons.

  • 40+ skills (with more on the way).

  • 75+ items (with more on the way).

  • 28+ weapons (with more on the way).

  • 20+ armors (with more on the way).

  • 30+ enemies (with nearly 200 on the way).

  • 2 bosses (with more on the way).

  • Battle system.

  • Crafting system.

  • Camping system.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The final price of the game after Steam Early Access phase will be more expensive than the current version.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will gather information provided from our social media network and the Steam community in order to guide our final production phase and polishing. Our players have been and will be very important during this final production phase, the Early Access. Also, the main plot is very important to us and we are keen to know how people receive every new bit of the game.”

About This Game

Dino Hazard: Chronos Blackout is a mix of every game you love from the SNES, GENESIS and PS1 eras, with a carefully built narrative and art style. It is a charming turn-based RPG about friendship and courage in a dystopian context with varied mechanics and alternative endings.

A group of people is trapped in a high-tech facility on a tropical island in the year 2147. They need to survive a malicious artificial intelligence system while fighting against dinosaurs and hacked robots.

Explore a vast island with distinct ecosystems and creatures. Mandatory grinding is not essential, but players can enjoy fast-paced strategic combat focused on character traits. You can solve conflicts with either HATE or LOVE strategies that influence the environment around you. Gameplay possibilities expand as you restore the facilities.

You play as a distinct group of characters that must overcome their differences to defeat a common enemy. You must administrate their skills to restore facilities before it is too late. Discover who is the malicious antagonist and escape its traps and puzzles to survive.
