Chase the light. Until your wings melt.

Chasing Light is an Icarus Simulation where you weave wings out of a game and soar toward the sun.

The game you make is called Chasing Light, too.

Within the budget you're given, pick the music, lay in the sound effects, and set the number and speed of enemies.

Fail to reach 100% on the box-office forecast, and there won't be a next time.

Every decision you make becomes a feather in your wings.

The developer will lend a hand too, so don't worry too much. Oh, I'm not speaking figuratively. I mean the real developer's hands.

Of course, those aren't the only hands on your wings.

The Investor shoves the market in your face, and the Critic trots out identity.

And the Senior? He warns you that calling a game a work of art is dangerous, and that you must never forget it's a product.

The closer you get to the sun, the more your wax melts away.

Your name is Director. Your job is director, too. After all, in this world, a name is a job title.

But the Judge in the courtroom of your visions doesn't ask about anything as petty as your job.

All he does is bellow at you to tell him what you "do."

You make games. So what on earth is it that you do?

You will spend seven days answering that.

The visions don't end at the courtroom.

A child who talks like an old man, and a ferry that calls you son.

Recruits presenting business cards instead of arms.

And a Pope who looks like a piece of plumbing.

What happens once your wings have melted away, you ask?

Don't worry. According to the Judge, falling from the sky is a perfectly legitimate kind of "doing."

Fall.

For there will be light.
