What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Launching two public Alphas for Gravewood High has shown us just how valuable and useful player feedback is. Our team wants to make the best roguelike horror game possible and, with your help, to make sure we're moving in the right direction.

What are our goals?

To make a highly replayable single-player game that surprises you with every run. Each playthrough will be quite unique: varied loot, new puzzles, different abilities and behaviours for the Teacher, etc. We want to create a really smart and lively opponent, who is responsive to player actions, even crazy ones :)”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our current goal is to fully launch the game in 2022. The actual timing of the game launch depends on player feedback and features requested by fans.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

  • The full version of the game will feature 3+ levels, each taking a few hours to complete. Each level will be highly randomized: loot, the Teacher’s behaviour and traps, rooms, puzzles, etc. will change from one run to another.
  • The teacher will get new gameplay-changing abilities (a few of which we have teased in the EA roadmap).
  • Many optional (and more difficult) puzzles will be added, with cool rewards that enhance your playthrough.
  • We plan to add even more interactivity to the game’s environment: it will be possible to disarm some of the Teacher’s traps and use them against him, there will be a lot more destructible objects, etc.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The first game level (of the three planned) is ready and can be played until the end. You can complete it in about an hour and a half, but some parts are randomized to provide more replay value. The basic mechanics of the game are all done, and we will be enhancing the first level with more randomization, additional content and game mechanics during Early Access. Gravewood High is already fun to play, but you may encounter a few bugs. If you do, be sure to report them ;)”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No concrete plans at the moment. The price might go up when the full game launches, as more content will be available.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Although our team has a clear vision for Gravewood High and the direction it is going in, our goal is to create a game that gets people excited and to maintain a healthy relationship with fans that take the time to provide feedback and help us create a better game. Listening to the game community, analyzing letsplays and looking at the data helps us better understand how our ideas are received and how to improve them.

We have a Discord server available (please join!) and we also plan to monitor discussions in the game’s Steam Community Hub.”

About This Game

Several students have gone missing at Gravewood High but none of the adults seem to have noticed. The school is a trap and your task is to get out of it. But there are two problems. One, the building has turned into a deadly labyrinth that constantly shifts and changes. Two, you are being chased by the Teacher - a crazed overlord of this place.

  • Dynamic environment
The school’s layout changes every time you get caught and the interior can be destroyed by both the player and the Teacher, creating a tense and unique adventure.

  • Tricky opponent
As the game progresses, the Teacher transforms physically and develops new abilities, becoming smarter and much more dangerous.

Simply hiding is not enough. In order to win, you must outwit the Teacher by finding and destroying objects that he holds dear or by luring him into traps.

  • An elaborate mystery spanning centuries
The game’s plot plunges you into the atmosphere of several iconic periods of history - from the wild 80s to the American Civil War.
