What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I ran out of time to develop the game. My estimates before was for me working on the game full time. Almost a month ago, I was hired by another studio and from there I got busy adjusting and I still need to move to Toronto.

Every other part of the game is good except for online multiplayer. Players can still use that feature, but there will be noticeable bugs. This is something that I wish to eliminate over time.

I also want to get feedback from players for balancing. As we are under quarantine for the past few months, it is impossible for me to have local tests in my area. Some robots may feel overpowered at the moment, but surely this will change.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Early access should be done by the end of this year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The online multiplayer experience should be a lot better. Little to no bugs, much more balanced robots and gameplay.

UI elements should look a lot more intuitive and appealing.

Additional audio like crowd cheers will be added.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is already in a playable state. Everything aside from online multiplayer should be good. You can still play online multiplayer but it has some noticeable bugs.

Online multiplayer is also not optimized and fps will drop significantly compared to offline mode.

Unbalanced robot stats and super moves.

Known bugs:

-ONLINE mode-
1. Game suddenly stops randomly during a match. (Rare)
2. Cannot immediately create another online match after ending a previous match. (All the time)
3. Spider Mines do not get released. (Uncommon)
4. Zigzag hit sometimes does not have a trail effect. (Uncommon)
5. Ball shoots up to the sky and match stalls. (Rare)
6. Voice chat icons do not match the player. (Common)
7. Doesn't play death animations properly. (Common)
8. Players die again after reviving. (Uncommon)
9. Only "Host" can exit the match during results. (All the time)
10. If "Host" leaves the match early, the game stalls for other players. (Common)
11. Wrong rich presence selected robot for coop games. (Common)
12. Cannot press on the invite buttons when receiving the invite while the game is changing scenes. (All the time)
-Others-
13. Missing text UTF-16 characters. (Rare)”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No, price will stay the same.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have open online chat server:

https://s.team/chat/YXZJ1z0P

and

https://discord.gg/HC8cH8W

Anyone can drop in at any time and give us comments or suggestions for the game.

Once quarantine is done, I will be hosting local events in my area.”

About This Game

VolleyBrawl is a futuristic Volleyball style game played by robotic competitors. Play in the steel arena with a variety of different robots combining tactics, skill, teamwork and aggression to win the match. Work solo with your AI team or with some friends as you combine a variety of tactics to ultimately dominate the game. Pass to a teammate to create the perfect assault, protect your side with your magnetic field, or use your unique special to throw the enemy off their game. Are your bolts big enough to be the champion of this electrified arena?

· Not all robots are manufactured equally
6 unique robot classes with their own special abilities

· Enter the arena solo or with your buddies
Play by yourself, with your friends up to 6 players, or enjoy online multiplayer

· Special Abilities
Need to score? Can’t seem to get a lead on a particular nasty opponent? Use your robot’s special ability to turn the tide for your team

· Knock Out System
Why try to out maneuver your opponent when you can just knock them out? Take advantage of your pinned down opponents and make the best to get a score

· Tracked Data
Compete to see who scored the most points, did the most KOs, and who is the real MVP with cold hard calculated data

· Full Controller Support
Not only does VolleyBrawl fully support up to 6 controllers but they work together with keyboard and mouse. Tested with Steam controllers, Xbox controllers, PlayStation controllers, Switch Pro controllers, and generic LG controllers -> technically it should work with any other controller.
