Why Early Access?

“Feedback and validation that we're on the right track, and customer metrics! Our game just exited its first beta stage, and we are ready to cast a wider net to include our customer base in the continued development of Ilysia. We are really looking forward to the feedback from the public of fans in a wider audience than small private testing in order to deliver the product we are working towards. EA is critical to make sure the design and functional implementation of what we are making and think people will enjoy is correct or if it needs to be adjusted.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our goal is to have Ilysia in Early Access for a bit over a year- we are targeting the December 2024 holiday period, which we believe will be enough time to validate our design, make the adjustments we need, and use the formula to expand the content to Release levels.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan for the full version of Ilysia to include a launch-worthy level cap, a much larger world, more dungeons, more professions, improved and new features, more playable races, and more social VR elements you'd expect from a Release build of an MMORPG.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Our current internal EA build is not a quick demo - it features 4 playable races in two opposing factions, the first 15 levels of character progression, 4 skill trees, 3 dungeons with different design mechanics, and a sizeable world to explore with tons of quests spanning different types we're testing out. All told, it's roughly the first 20-30 hours of content outside of socializing to showcase a small vertical slice of the features we're working on for Release. Getting feedback on what is working and not working design-wise from the public is crucial to our success, and EA can provide.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Our early access pricing will reflect that we are in EA and not a finished product. It will be half the price or less than the full release price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Engagement is king. We currently engage with our fan base on Discord and have 11K+ members listening and engaging. We hold 'tavern talks' with our development team and the community to discuss the game, and have an active community manager on staff. Additionally, we would like to involve the Steam forums in updates, as well. Our website also will continue to display dev updates and, during EA will feature Roadmaps, public bug reporting forms, and patch notes for people to see progress.”
