Why Early Access?

“Travellers Rest started off as a passion project made by one person and has expanded into a larger team in less than a year. In that time, we have revamped the entire game’s aesthetics, and are now expanding on the core gameplay to scale up the project to what we believe it should be. We are hard at work on brining the project to you in as perfect a state as can be!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan on integrating the game’s full map and gameplay cycle prior to launching 1.0. This includes lore, story and social interactions as well as Multiplayer. Once all of these features are complete, we will transition to 1.0.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand on all features, focusing more on what our community wants! This will include:

• More recipes for food and drink
  
• New items and furniture for your tavern
  
• Customer interaction (quest giving, spreading rumors, and more)
  
• A world to discover and explore
  
• An overarching story to progress through
  
• Collectables / achievements
  
• Magic!
  
• Multiplayer

Being such a small team, we get full control on what aspects of the game to spend time on. This means your feedback and suggestions will really make the difference.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The basic tavern and crafting features are implemented, such as:

• Character customization
  
• Crafting: farming, brewing, cooking, carpentry
  
• A tavern building system
  
• Events
  
• An original soundtrack!
  
• RPG systems such as: tavern reputation, experience, technology trees
  
• Renting rooms
  
• Lots of things to create and collect!

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes! The game is currently cheaper to reward those who want to support it early. This means the price will be increased upon release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have lots of options, including: a Discord server, a Reddit community, emails, Steam forums, and Twitter. So, whatever media you like to use, you'll be able to talk to us. We'll be using your suggestions to decide on the content of each patch, so come share your ideas! With each update, we'll also be looking to know what changes the community likes/dislikes. Then, we can plan changes and make better decisions for the future. A big thank you to anyone who supports the game, either through early access purchase or any community contribution!”
