Why Early Access?

“We want to deliver satisfying VR rhythm/fitness experience for a good price. As a player of this game you can choose from different game modes, use your bare hands or variety of weapons, watch videoclips while playing, challenge yourself by beating global and friends leaderboards and personal fitness goals (calories burnt). We believe all these features can benefit from community feedback as we can further finetune and enhance them wherever it leads us.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“That largely depends on how many new ideas we and the community will bring, we have several on our mind already. :) Our aim for finished product is Q4 2019.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Current game features as described in "About This" section are complete, we provide 16 ranked songs and videos to play and allow players to add more custom songs (either create them from scratch using provided level editor or directly copy existing songs e.g. in ModSaber format). For final game we plan to add more official ranked songs (and if you are an artist who would like to be featured in the game, let us know!). We also feel the existing game modes have potential to be further improved, new weapons could be added etc. so you can expect all this in the upcoming updates.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Existing game modes and features are all working as described. You can find all the details in "About This" section.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to slightly raise the price as we ship new content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We would like to use Steam community forum and our Discord server to hear your feedback on existing game features (game modes, weapons etc.) and even completely new ideas. Our experimental features such as calories meter or video player would also benefit from real world feedback. We would also love to see custom songs and levels you can create. :)”

Update #1

First update with new features and content is here!
  • 4 new songs – newest single Triumphant by Axl & Arth feat. Dustin Paul, Something for Nothing by Jimmy Burney, Alundra in Videos section; This way by Scomber in Ranked songs; Retro Beats by Mem in Custom songs (if you are interested in creating your own songs, you can open this one in level editor for an inspiration :)).
  • Ranking system – you are now rewarded for playing ranked songs (in fit boxing mode in normal, intense or impossibru difficulty). Your total score in ranked songs determines your current rank level

  • Leader glory – when you or any other player place at the top of the leaderboard, all players in the world are notified about this extraordinary achievement (so they can either pause in awe or try to beat your score right away ;))
  • Free Style adjustments – we are improving behaviour of individual weapons and their effects. Saw now halves the balls with higher precision, we plan to focus on blades next.

New settings and adjustments
  • We have listened to your feedback and added 2 new settings in the game. Let us know how they work for you or if you experience any issues, thank you!
    – Settings/Game/Debris reduction – when enabled, this will reduce the amount of graphical effects and emitted particles while playing so that you could focus better on oncoming balls without too much distraction
    – Settings/Profile/Spawner height – if you feel the balls are flying over your head (literally ;)) and normal recentering of the game (by holding B button) doesn't cut it for you, you can use this setting to move all the balls down (-) or up (+) by any amount of centimeters. This setting should also help if you are having wrong height/floor issues with your headset.
  • We have adjusted balls grid size for intense and impossibru difficulty levels to make them more enjoyable without the need to jump all over the place. :) Impossibru was shrinked from 120×120 cm to 100×100, intense was shrinked from 90×90 to 80×80. Normal, gentle and light remain the same, 60×60.
  • We have added more spacing between near balls for Custom songs in ModSaber format running directly from Song Beater (i.e. not edited in our level editor). The balls should now intersect significantly less. :)
  • There is now higher chance (50->75%) for correct letters in Letter Hunter mode, meaning if you are able to spot the letters in time, you can construct the sentences much quicker.

Bugfixes
  • Letter Hunter – there was one misbehaving ball on the right side with slightly rotated letters. We hired a new one for this job. Also sometimes when you hit correct letter it was ignored for the sentence, this should now be fixed.
  • Special Steam achievement "I see dead people" activated in game might not have been saved in your steam profile. When you run this updated version of the game, the achievement should be activated for you automatically.
  • Player weight (which is used to calculate calories) might not have been saved correctly in your profile. Please go to your Settings/Profile and double check.

Next update is planned for friday 7/19. We have already secured at least 2 new songs (one of them is great Minute by Dizaro) so stay tuned...

Thank you & upcoming update

First of all huge thanks to all players who have tried our game so far, the reception is overwhelming and motivates us to further improve the game for you. Speaking of improvements, we are already working on an update scheduled for friday 7/12:

  • At least 2 new songs in form of videoclips including fresh single Triumphant by Axl & Arth! :-)
  • Ranking system for players. The more you play the higher rank you achieve.
  • Manual setting for floor/height adjustment in case in-game recentering doesn't cut it for you.
  • Adjusting import of custom songs in ModSaber format – as our balls are bigger than in other games ;-), the near ones can intersect. We will probably rotate them to face each other or reposition them slightly.
