Why Early Access?

“We’ve been developing Clodhoppers in the open with a small community of players who have helped us shape the game thus far. It’s now at a point where it’s great fun to play! Early access provides us with a larger test group and hopefully more input into how we reach a final product.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“It’s hard to say, much is in the balance, in terms of team size (we are a micro studio) and final project scope. Waving a finger in the air, maybe 6 months - 1 year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The main difference is that we’ll have a single player game mode with replayable levels. Then additional enemies and unlockable content, player skins and more character voice sets.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“It’s best played online with upto 8 players. Works really nicely with friends on voice chat for example as there’s lots of laughing at each other and yourself! There is also a score attack mode that is good for practicing your moves on your own.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The basic multiplayer game which is present in early access will remain free after release. We will be introducing a paid option within the game to unlock room creation and character customisation options in the near future, in addition to the free portion of the game. We will also add to our roster of characters and gear with optional paid-for items as development continues.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We'll continue as we did before Early Access, hosting online games so players can interact with the dev team. Discussion about new features and changes to the game are hosted on our public Claymatic Discord Server too.”
