New Trailer & A Call To Arms – This is EVE!

When making trailers for EVE Online, it’s always been difficult for us to showcase our community’s passion and enthusiasm for all things New Eden.

This has always been the hardest thing for us to capture, process and display to the world in its most raw form, given your seemingly boundless creativity and dedication to the EVE Universe.

A few months ago a number of people at CCP decided to take on this challenge, and at the start of September we released a cluster-wide call to arms in order to collect the community’s most awesome moments from voice comms.

After weeks of editing, a lot of discussion and many hours of rendering here at CCP we hope that in some way we may have found a way to display the fun, frustrating, exhilarating and intense moments that the community has submitted to us in response to this call to arms.

We’d like to present a different view on producing a trailer for EVE.

This is a view that focuses less on EVE itself and more on the people who make it live and breathe. All of you, because without your mining, manufacturing, piracy, war declarations, spying, espionage and gatecamps, New Eden would be a pretty quiet and lifeless place.

Debuted at EVE Down Under, “This is EVE” is not only the newest trailer for EVE Online, it serves as a tribute and a thank you to the EVE Online community for twelve glorious years of mayhem, with the hope of many more to come.

“This is EVE” is available in two formats:

Uncensored & Raw (Contains Strong Language) - Samples from voice comms remain as they were when they were submitted to us.

PG-13 (Censored) - Samples from voice comms are censored when mean capsuleers say bad words..

Help us further with This is EVE!

Along with the release, we’d like to make a second call to arms for the community to translate “This is EVE” into all our supported languages (French, German & Russian), as we’d like to continue to put the creative power in your hands and enable the finest community in online gaming to showcase EVE Online.

We would eventually like to display these translated versions on the official CCP Games YouTube Channel, with full credits to those whose videos are featured.

You can submit to your localized versions of This is EVE by mailing share@eveonline.com.

We’ll also have some further activities based around “This is EVE” coming in the next few weeks, so be sure to keep your eye on the community news feed!

New in Hyperion - "Donate Game Time" explained

What is Donate Time?

"Donate Game Time" is an easy way to use PLEX to instantly gift 30 days of game time to another character (more information about PLEX can be found in the Knowledgebase article about PLEX

How to use "Donate Game Time"

To use the "Donate Game Time" feature you need to have at least one PLEX available in your inventory.

Check out the animation below for a visual guide and read on for more details.

Simply right-click on the PLEX icon and then choose the "Activate PLEX" option from the popup menu. This will open a new window which shows several services available.

At the bottom of this window you will see the "Donate 30 days of game time" option. In the text field, type the name of the character you would like to donate the game time to.

As you type the character name, you will see a list populate with character names that match the text you have entered. Once their name appears, click on the character you would like to donate the game time to.

Once you have selected a character, the Donate button to the right will become clickable. Click the Donate button to start donating the game time.

The Donate button switches to a teal colored Confirm button.

You have 5 seconds to confirm your decision by clicking the button. Afterwards the Confirm button turns back to the Donate button and you will have to re-confirm your choice.

If you have selected the wrong character, you simply can remove the character by clicking the little white X in the text field.

Why use Donate Game Time?

With Donate Game Time you can give game time directly to your friends or to your own alt accounts without going through the process of transferring PLEX to another character, who would then have to actively use that PLEX themselves. It is also a very simple way to activate inactive accounts.

Donate Game Time saves you and the receiving character some time as you transfer the benefits from using PLEX instantly.

Donate Game Time to inactive and trial accounts

If the receiving character resides on an inactive account, the Donate Game Time feature will activate that account and 30 days of game time will be added.

If the receiving character is a trial account, the Donate Game Time feature will convert that account to a full subscribing account and adds 30 days of game time to that account. All trial account restrictions will be lifted.

Donate Game Time and the Buddy Program

If trial accounts invited via the Buddy Program are converted to fully subscribed accounts via the Donate Game Time feature, then the Buddy inviter will receive a reward just as if the trial account owner would have used a PLEX to upgrade the account.

More information about the Buddy Program can be found on the EVE Online Account Management

Sub this game if:

-You dont value any kind of social life
-You want to play a true sandbox game
-You dont want a mindless faceroll where you get rewarded for minimal effort
-You like teamwork and a mature, unique community
-You want a deep, complex game with a steep learning curve
-You like to be challenged to think and plan

I joined a nullsec alliance after 2 months, in my first week I was in a pvp brawl with 1100 people

The mechanics arent perfect but the devs are making improvements all the time and expansions are free every month

Eve is a phenomenal game.

Playing it for me was like watching star wars for the first time. It's like entering a universe previously unseen to you before and getting encaptured in its ways and lore. Everything about the game is perfection, there's something in it for everyone. Want to ravage the lonely spaces of Low sec as a pirate? Want to mine minerals and make a profit? Want to explore the deep fringes of space looking for galactic treasure? Or maybe you just want to do it all. There's something there for everyone and the amount of possibility is endless. I highly recommend this game, if you like any sandbox MMO this is for you. Well worth the monthly subscription.

Been playing this game for a long time, and it has come a long way.

Of course any game has its ups and downs, and this game is no different. But i will say that this is a true "SandBox" game. Can work you butt off for a ship, and the next day lose it. But then you have the community to fall back on, Everyone is willing to help just as long as you ask.

I will recommend that whoever buys and plans on playing, that you have ALOT of patience. This is a skill training base game, and the skills help alot, but get completed over time.

Endless space to explore, Ultra-detailed graphics, a tons of ships and stuff, giant battles.
This game is the best space MMO the world ever seen: you can be a pirate, a mercenary, a businessman, a explorer....you can be everything as you want. In battle, is the same thing: you can prefer to fight with guns, lasers, bombs, missiles; you can choose to fight with good planned strategy, or a hit-and.run, or a rush.
You can create your corporation and take a part of space where you can create your personal station, hangars, lab, and etc.
At the end, this game stole your hearth if you play it. 12/10

gotta add this to the top, i lived in null(delve), factional warfare low sec, high sec, i joined ♥♥♥♥ty corps, good corps, blank corps, i know what i am saying,

alas i am not a 'veteran', i only started 6 months ago, i have 1 pew pew toon which can fly t2/t3 and 1 indy toon, here it comes;

this game is not for casual players, not even mediocre players, this game is purely hardcore, it may cause depression, panic attack and can even make you a paranoid person.(which means this game has a soul and an effect on the person)

if you are new at eve, think real hard and decide if you really want to play this game and how dedicated you are, learn the races / read the wiki like its the bible, figure out who you wanna be, after that pay 6 months in front, fill up your training queue, learn the ropes meanwhile (somewhere between 2. month and 4. month), and come back when you are able to at least fly a t2.

yes i basically told you to wait 6 months before playing.

did i told you 'pay your account with isk' thing is a lie because you cant get that much isk every month as a beginner?(at least not in first 6 months if you dont have real good friends)

because if you are new to eve, this means you are the smallest fish in the ocean, and this is a 'pay to wait' game.

you will train so much skills in order to be able to fight back at least, it really needs a lot of patient, eve is the most punishing game to start, ever.

other then that i recently learned some facts about eve that hit me in the face with a big rock,(size of the rock may be smaller after the news)

for example they released 'train this skill to train skills faster' skillbooks once god knows when, which means people whom started before then you, are much more powerfull then you think they are(those skillbooks do not exist anymore as stated here; http://community.eveonline.com/news/dev-blogs/learning-skills-are-going-away-1/ so this statement is unvalid).

they released all T2 original blueprints with a 'lottery(??!)' system once, you cant obtain a T2 original blueprint except buying it from another player which costs billons of isk. (you can still buy bpc's from those bpo owners for a small to medium fee though)

there are people out there who has 10 miner alts, and multiboxing with all of them, which means if you are an indy toon you cant compete with that guy whatever you do, no one cares as long as the multiboxers pay.

the worst part is not just miner multiboxers, tengu pilots with their scouts controlled by the same person, market bots, spam programs,

i literally saw 'xyz 1 xyz 2 xyz 3 xyz 4' named pilots in a low sec roaming fleet.

i mean you can really play this game with 4-5 toons at the same time, 1 man fleet.

no one can say me that is not ♥♥♥♥ing hacking, i really dont think no one can say that.

happy new year edit: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=387571 this is good news for example, i want to see more.

2 weeks ago i was thinking about when will eve die, 'this summer or next winter, when will it go f2p' i was asking myself these, but with this new promise, when CCP decided 'i want players trust not the isboxers money' , now i am feeling content.

CCP proved they have balls, and this will be written on stone after 1 more month.

it will take quite a while to settle but this is a real huge step towards healing eve.

bot tears everywhere, it is really good riddance.

there are goons out there who will do every type of shet to you because he thinks in his little mind that he is 'superior', fascist sociopaths, immature authorities, its just too ♥♥♥♥♥ wrong to let some fascist goon sht on your head, and eve is ok with that like everyone else, if you think like a decent human being then you are a 'carebear', a toilet paper, a toy.

but if you are a 'griefer' , oh boy you are the god, decent eve pilot, blowing up people who started 1 months ago,our sacred proud soldier going after ventures in his cat.

it is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ pathetic, really, it is just pathetic nothing more.

the real problem is not these sociopaths, eve is promoting these kinda behaviour.

i paid nearly 400 bucks to this game and still i cant say 'i am doing it' , i dont think anyone is doing it, sometimes the game feels blank, just empty because everyone is doing the same thing, some manufacture ships and sell them to manufacture more ships and sell them as well, some people shoots other people so he gets a killreport which fells like a cheap achievement, they said 'everything in this game is player creation, there is an solid economy' but damn they didnt said everyone is doing the same thing over and over again until they puke their brains out.(just like the real life actually)

they say this is sandbox, i dont think it is because all you can do at space is 'warp to - jump - align - burn towards - dock' this is it, all the manuevers, travelling across the space needs some serious rework.

everyone fly the same ships, there is no customization because if there was one CCP couldnt sell their 'XYZ edition' ships at AUR store.

fitting the ships are kinda open to imagination but it just doesnt cut it, because when i undock my ship is just one of the ♥♥♥♥ty vexors out there going to do the same frigging thing over and over again, ratting belts doing sites is boring, seriously it doesnt feel like PVE, it just feels blank.

PVP is boring as well, there is our Fleet Commander Yells-A-Lot(big fleet fatty) , 'do this do that and kaboom because i fuked up' you will feel like a drone in fleets mark my words, just a fukin drone, you cant do solo pvp oh no sir you cant do nothing if you are alone, because the loneliest guy at eve will be flying with his alts multiboxing the shet out of the game meanwhile you try to do rat belts on your own.

people who thinks he's a scammer but merely all he does is 'send me isk i'll send you back double xd' , market orders asking 60 million for 1 tech one drone luring people to missclick, hauling contracts which asks billions and billions isk as 'insurance' but pays a few million at the end(mostly you will get blown up just for that colleteral, much more profit that way)

idiot people who cant just understand the fact that game is broken and this ♥♥♥♥ needs to be fixed.

i am not shtting at eve's face, i am trying to point out facts instead of waiting at dark corners in silence, murmuring with others 'eve needs new blood sush let them come', if you start playing this is what you gonna get.

there may be some points flawed with my review, but these are just harsh facts that i encountered.

long story short, if you are going to become an eve pilot, think this through i could've done so much better things with 400 bucks , you must really want this to enjoy eve, i like eve but not everyone is like me or the other eve players, think it hard when you trying 21 day trial.

i can see CCP is trying to sort things out with patches, new thoughts and new perception but i dont think CCP is in full control of eve , all i see is things got a bit out of hand.

after CCP admits 'multiboxing(isboxing) is hacking(which they kinda did) and goons/griefers are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s(still the golden boys of eve) and mittani(may god have mercy on his soul) is not someone who must be respected - just a piece of shet and they did some wrong moves with the game in their past and they want to lower the price of PLEX(way too high in current state) until the game evolves to something better' , i will gladly edit this review.

some of the things i complained about may be nice for you, or some of the things i love about the game may be gamebreaking for you, it really depends on the person, rule number one at eve is 'adapt' , so if you can you will be able to do what you like in eve, if you cant then you will suffer.

ps: i always put a red thumbs down when im writing a rewiev about the games i love.

I look at my hours played and do the math everyonce in a while, at this point in time I have 54 days played, i'm not even sad it is a fun game as long as you get in a good corporation. You will not stay for the game because of spaceships, a special market or even because you have nothing else in your life. You stay because of the people you meet and the friends you make.

Best space game ever, especially now with the monthly releases. No hand holding. Risk vs. reward is nicely balanced. Epic scale. Massively complex. Great community (even when they're trying to kill or scam you, they're always willing to help). True sandbox. Do whatever you want. Can't afford it? Build it.

-Has a steep learning curve.

Guys and gals,
never use EVE Online through Steam. Use stand-alone client instead.
I wasted three evenings and like 10GB of traffic to make it work (and I have no idea what caused it to work finally).

Thanks for totes crap update download speed, by the way. Guys and gals, don't use Launcher to update - use Repair.exe instead.
I understand that I failed royally when purchased subscription without having game client ready.
Though it won't cancel some devs' laziness.
Why ever bothering yourself with placing MMO in Steam if you don't benefit from its infinite easy-to-update possibilities? Moneybag playerbase gathering?

The game itself is OK - Steam-EVE implementation is horrid, that's why that much negative feedback.

The game...
Endless crafting possibilities, possibility to level character up while offline and infinite possibilities for diplomacy, thievery, trolling and otherwise spending time with joy.

Too lazy? Farm resources from planets while offline!
Fond of playing safe and/or wanna have lot of time to chat with somebody? Mine the ore/gas/ice!
Wand some risk? Explore space anomalies and wormholes!
Want MORE risk? Hunt pirates in low security status systems!
Want some real action? Join alliance that is at war with another alliance!
Want to have some fun? Become an outlaw and steal some booty from anyone from abovementioned examples!
You can even become a kind of headhunter and become rich by collecting bounty placed on other players by another players.
Or do something really nasty, get bounty placed on you and mock headhunters willing to get you.

With new update you can even steal some rare resources from moon bases.

The only real downside is overall tempo is relatively slow... unless you bumped into raving pirates B)
Though you can stay in safe areas... however, it won't protect you completely.

Known as Spreadsheet Simulator...

Eve Online is one of the most advanced, tactical / strategic starship strategy MMORPG/RTS out there, whether you prefer to fight in PvE against a wealth of AI missions, encounters, deadspace zones, or incursions of pirates swarming from the dark sector, Eve Online both rewards players for their PvE / PvP Style of gameplay.

A True Market;

Everything in the Eve Online community, from ships, weapons, technology, research, and equipment are player manufactured, found, or created, less than 1% of items in the game are procedurely generated to assist players in their skills and general manufacturing processes. As the value of ores and materials change, so do the costs of ships, equipment and items, a true inspirational community market of unsurpassed genius and integrity. No one person dominates the the market. With thousands of places to shop, 4 player driven / founded market sectors, players will have no problems finding the resources or items they need at a reasonible price.

Real Skills / Real Time / Real Changes:

In Eve there are no levels, there are no experience points for destroying enemy AI's or players, there is simply time and money, as you go around killing other ships and players their ingame money system (ISK) is token to you in bounties and rewards depending upon who and what you kill. Reputation is your experience in Eve, for everything you do, if felt positively in the nation you fight for, and negatively in the nation you fight against. Skills in the game drive how quickly and how effectively you use items and ships in the game. Having more than 1,000 skills, each requiring real world time to develope, but have no fear even the time you are logged off of Eve still contributes to the learning process of skills. 30 Days of Membership means 30days of Skill Training provided you log in to change your queue of skills being learned.

Real Skills / Real Time / Real Consequences:

Skills aren't everything, how you setup your ship, events that play out on the battlefield, and the people you fly with can change everything, in Eve, even the most robust and wealthiest player can be taken down by the most noobish and uncoordinated player depending upon how you play.

Unparrelled PvP Fleets and Squad Honor:

Eve Onlines PvP Fleet / Squad System is known far and wide for its companionship, real world leaders of both men, experienced and unexperienced, leading people into the fray, giving orders and handling issues while under pressure define some of the best combat experience fleet organization and player PvP Battles you will ever immerse yourself in. There is only one rule, The Fleet Commander says Jump, you jump, and don't jump early, don't jump late, and whatever you do, don't rebel, or you'll find yourself in a pod, slow boating it back to secure space praying you remembered to upgrade your clone.

Not for Level Junkies, not for young players intent on showing off, Eve is for the mature, action driven player that wants to change something in the world. There is only one server and your choices are felt across it like a stone in a pool of water. Will they be good choices, or will they be bad, who's to say, join the Eve Online Community today and find out for yourself.
