Why Early Access?

“We have a novel combat system - a mix of RPG and small scale RTS - and it requires careful optimization. We want to gather the experience of a wider range of players to balance the combat to the most commonly played styles and reward those players who think outside the box.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to release final version by end of the year/beginning of the next. We plan to add the second part of the story (Book Two) in about three months. The final part - conclusion to the story - will be part of the final release. While the game remains in Early Access we plan to do regular updates and upgrades to the present content, mostly about quality of life mechanics and combat - based on our own list as well as received feedback from the players.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the full game, all remaining levels will be added, with total gameplay time reaching between 25-30 hours on normal and lower difficulty, depending on how much time the player will want to spend to reading the lore, looking for hidden secrets, or solving optional puzzles.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is polished, and levels 1-4 are complete. Total game-play time is approx 15 hours. If you play on harder difficulties and also do optional battle challenges - then it is few hours more. We will be adding further unique elements to the environment, new quests and difficult combat encounters, and changing some of the skills, depending on player feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, for Early Access we would like to reward players who are willing to try the game and spend their valuable time to offer us feedback and improvement suggestions. Full release price will be higher.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want to create an unforgettable RPG experience and engage players emotionally. We will listen to the feedback and suggestions, either via in-built report tool or perhaps a dedicated Discord server as well. Top contributors can count on a special mention in the credits or even a dedicated statue within the game. We also have a plan for a multiplayer (pvp and co-op) in the future, as tactical combat with limited slow-time option could offer a lot of fun.”

Upcoming Patch 22.08. A big one.


An update on our development pipeline: The next patch will arrive around 22.08. That is a long time, but this is our biggest patch yet.

We had received MASSIVE feedback in the last two weeks. Thanks a lot for all that! Instead of splitting it into smaller chunks, we decided to put as much as possible into one big update - so we can test everything very thoroughly.

This time we are focusing almost entirely on the things requested by the players. Here is a short list of major things to come:

  • Advanced graphic settings (you will be able to customize your graphic options, one by one).
  • Full screen resolution / dual monitor support (no cursor movement).
  • Keybindings - whether you play typical point-and-click RPGs or MOBA-style games, you will be able to customize everything as you like.
  • Quicksave and double-click to Save.
  • Small thing but incredibly useful for us - added crash dump files to our Report Issue Trello board.
  • Various graphic optimization - loading times should be significantly shorter.
  • Elimination of all gameplay bugs that we know of - including random memory leaks.

  • Void sector / Level 4 - major upgrade and epic conclusion to Book One of the story. If you decide to wake the Shade immediately, well, you are duly warned.
  • Various 'Quality of Life' features - e.g. DPS statistic already on inventory page, so you can quickly check combination of items.
  • Various small changes to combat mechanics - e.g. small differentiation of shooting range for range weapons; increased range for melee weapons, melee enemies behaving more as they should.
  • Crystal Transmute option - so you will be able to test all those powerful enchantments earlier, risking lack of crafting power once you discover Tier 2 Blacksmith upgrade (which will also come earlier).
  • Increased starting level for champions that join later.
  • Changing places for building blueprints.
  • Some more lore books/notes. Stronger personalities for characters
  • Level progress should now finally track % accurately.

Forgotten Dwarf

Poor Rakhem. He was trying his best, not well enough perhaps - but we honestly thought that being a Dwarf alone is enough to assure that he has a secure place in any adventure. We apparently were wrong, Boron being no. 2 choice for the front-line - so we are sending Rakhem to a special training camp for aspiring champions.

As we get closer to the patch date, we will share more details.

Linux version

Hello Linux users,

We have progressed with the super annoying issue concerning cinematics (where an in-built player in Unity did not handle them well - they either did not play at all or froze randomly).

We have replaced the player and it all seems ok now on our Linux installations - however, it sometimes requires new codecs, depending on Linux version.

We are therefore looking for volunteers that use Linux, who would like to receive steam key and help us test it. The key can be used later for full game as well.

The reason for that is that we cannot simulate all Linux environments (we run out of available PCs in our studio) and we shall not release a version that just MIGHT NOT work well. That is a primary directive that we always try to follow - never release something half-done.

EDIT: thanks to all who submitted their specs and agreed to help us with the tests. We hope to have a date of Linux release very soon.

About This Game

Tower of Time is a new take on classic RPGs. It has hand-crafted levels filled with various enemies, challenging puzzles, and engaging story-lines. Its dynamic real-time combat with slow mode requires tactical awareness and careful preparation of the party.

At the moment the content is for approximately 15 hours of game-play time on normal or lower difficulty, excluding optional battle challenges.

Before you buy:

If you are looking for a game that is trying to bring something new to RPG genre - Tower of Time is an attempt at just that. If you are not sure if you like the combat we implemented - before you buy - please check some YT clips or visit our YT channel, where we uploaded the combat gameplay recorded and commented by an actual player. This is not a turn-based combat, rather a combination of RPG and RTS on a small scale, where you have the ability to slow time at will.

On Hard difficulty the game is meant to be hard, requiring your undivided attention throughout the entire combat encounter.

On Epic difficulty - there is only one party/skill/item composition for each enemy/boss type that we know of - one mistake will likely wipe your party. You must be in full control of the battle every second. Experimentation and thinking outside-of-the-box will ensure your success here.


  • Engaging story – set in a world where technology met magic with devastating consequences. Hundreds of lore books and scattered pieces of information slowly reveal the history of Artara as the protagonist approaches his fate.
  • Novel combat system – unique real-time action with a slow-time feature, where each match is played on one of many separate tactical maps. Plan ahead and position your party accordingly. Use slow-time to react to new threats or negate enemy skills. No two encounters are ever the same.
  • Five difficulty levels: You can choose whether you want only to enjoy the story or test your tactical thinking and skills.
  • Build your party around typical tank/dps/support composition or try something entirely new.
  • Different combat scenarios - e.g. Swarm or Only Elite - will ensure that combat is not repetitive.
  • Find secret locations, cleverly hidden in the environment. Travel through hand-crafted levels where every single place is carefully designed.
  • Seven classes to choose from, and your party can be adjusted at will and anytime, depending on the challenges you face. Each champion has unique skills that can be upgraded and re-trained at will. (In Early Access six champions are available, as the seventh joins your party at lower levels).
  • New character progression system: there is no experience to gain. Instead, discover ancient knowledge to unlock new skills and carefully design your characters. Each character could be turned into a powerful and durable attacker or a skill-based champion.
  • Defeat powerful elite enemies (bosses) wielding diverse skills and spells. Assess their strengths and weaknesses carefully to succeed.
  • Complete combat challenges for item rewards and unique enchanting recipes, or just to test your new party setup.
  • Random loot system. Craft item of your choice and power, using crafting crystals of various types. Discover ancient enchanting recipes that can change the nature of the combat, granting regeneration aura or immunity to special effects.
  • Upgrade your city as the main training/equipment hub and repository of all the lore you find.
