About This Game

The world is changing and Tropico is moving with the times - geographical powers rise and fall and the world market is dominated by new players with new demands and offers - and you, as El Presidente, face a whole new set of challenges. If you are to triumph over your naysayers you will need to gain as much support from your people as possible. Your decisions will shape the future of your nation, and more importantly, the size of your off-shore bank account.
Tropico 4 expands on the gameplay of the previous game with new political additions ∼ including more superpowers to negotiate with, along with the ability to elect ministers into power to help get your more controversial policies passed. But remember to keep your friends close and your enemies closer as everyone has an agenda! Your political mettle will be thoroughly tested, as new natural disasters will have the populace clamoring for you and your cabinet to help them recover from some of the worst Mother Nature can dish out.
Tropico 4 also brings a new level of social interaction with the addition of Facebook and Twitter integration. Post comments on Twitter direct from the game and have updates go out when you complete missions or unlock new achievements. You can even take screenshots of your burgeoning island and post your dream creation on your Tropico 4 Facebook page and compare your interactive Dictator Ranking on the online leaderboards.

Key Features:

  • New campaign consisting of 20 missions on 10 new maps.
  • 20 new buildings including Stock Exchange, Shopping mall, Aqua Park and a Mausoleum to El Presidente.
  • Six new interactive disasters including volcanoes, droughts and tornadoes.
  • Council of Ministers – selected citizens to ministerial posts in the government to help push through your more controversial decisions.
  • National Agenda – receive objectives from Tropican factions, foreign geopolitical powers or opportunities relating to current island events such as ongoing disasters.
  • Facebook and Twitter integration.
  • Screenshot gallery – take screenshots of your tropical paradise and share on your Facebook page.
  • Trading system – import and export goods to/from other nations to boost your economy or production.

One of the best city building games I have ever played. This game has 20 missions in the main story which is fun to play with funny objectives.

Good :
✓ Nice story
✓ Good graphics.
✓ Sound effects are good.
✓ Great sound track and funny voice act.
✓ Fun game play.
✓ Longer play time with campage and other extra missions (Modern times DLC has 12 extra missions too).

Bad:
✖ Sometimes it gets boring doing the samething.

All loyal Tropicans play and enjoy Tropico 4.

Those who don't will be subject to a suprise visit from El Presidente's Tropican National Pep Squad and sent to an all expense paid trip to El Presidente's Rehabilition Resort.

All hail El Presidente, our august and benevolent leader!

I like this game, it could be alot better but its still enjoyable. When I first got it, I couldn't get off i loved it! but after you beat the story mode/compain it gets boring really fast. you can challange yourself by making the difficulty harder as per map. but when your like me and play these games all the time it gets to be the same after awhile.

I do however recomand it because of the fact that it took me awhile to beat the campain and that it is hours full of fun. I'm thinking about buying 5 but it looks the same as this one to me so i'm still not sure.

My dreams of being a dictator is fulfilled in this game. I could only imagine how Hitler or Stalin might have felt. For those who dream of having absolute power like me, this game is a must! Moreover, the option of killing off your own citizens is too hard to resist.

This is a pretty good city builder game - if you played Tropico 3 it adds quite a bit. Both game mechanics, gameplay and graphics have been improved making game progression more enjoyable. The Steam Special Edition is a good bundle making it a good deal so if your like city builders and like how it make a bit of fun with government then go get it now.

First and Last tropico game for me. Good Game but i hate Money grab Company's. If you get any of the Tropico games this is probably the best of them all.

Kalypso promised Linux support for this game and never delivered. That has changed with the latest version of Tropico but a lot of Linux users bought this game waiting for the Linux release that never happened. Until they make good on their promise I'm not going to recommend this.

The Tropico series is probably my favorite of the genre, and that's saying a lot. It takes a while to get acclimated to the rules of running your own island (how rent/wages work, etc.), but is a lot of fun once you get a handle on what you're doing. The campaign is fairly lengthy though I'm not a fan of the timed quests you'll enconter from time to tim. Luckily, there's a sandbox mode that eliminates the pressures of the campaign. Whether it be exports or tourism, your main goal is to keep your bank full whilst keeping your Tropicans happy. Tropico 3 is almost identical in playstyle, so pick that up for cheaper to see if this is something you'd enjoy.
