Happy Valentine's Day! In celebration of our iOS launch, and because this is the most violentest holiday of the year, we have launched a brand new tape on the video shelves: MY GORY VALENTINE!

This movie was painstakingly shot in a small mining town in eastern Canada, and features a brand new killer: Major Miner. Illuminate those campers with your headlamp as you traverse the mines and rural neighbourhood puzzles of MY GORY VALENTINE.

The movie will unlock at 10am in whatever time zone you're in. Don't even think about cheating the system by changing your clock, either!!!

Happy Slaying everyone, and don't forget to check out Slayaway Camp on iOS -- live on the Apple App Store AS YOU READ THIS!!

Your Friend,

Hey Killers!

We've got a brand new update for Slayaway Camp which brings a tonne of great fixes and updates,

  • New Unlockable Gorepack: Freefallin’ - Killer takes Victim on a sweet skydiving bro-trip.
  • Checkmarks in the pause menu have been redesigned to be a much much nicer checkmark. Revel in the beauty that is the all-new checkmark!
  • Added some super sweet up/down arrows in the movie store, to get you up/down shelves easier. :)
  • Added a checkmark underneath a movie if you have completed it. We’re working on additional notifiers if the movie’s deleted scenes and NC17 levels are complete, but that will have to come in a future update.
  • If language is French / keyboard layout is AZERTY, we use ZQSD instead of WASD for movement. Arrow keys still work too, so just use those you silly camper killers.

  • Laid some hot & sweaty groundwork for the FREE “My Gory Valentine” DLC movie to come out on Tuesday, in celebration of the iOS release!!!
  • We've also added brand new "My Gory Valentine" papercrafts to the Deluxe Edition Papercraft folder!

  • Increased the amount of time the “Game Over” credit sequence plays so you have time to dig through that drawer in the kitchen for your favorite lighter, spark it up and hold it over your head, waving it gently back and forth in time to the music.
  • Steam was not checking for certain achievements when the game started up. We’ve taken Steam out to the garage, tied it up in a chair, sprinkled doritos on the floor, told it that if it doesn’t start checking for certain achievement when it launches Slayaway Camp that it will be forced to walk barefoot on those doritos. Steam now checks for certain achievements when the game starts up.
  • Should have prevented future Linux / OSX Save games from resetting. If you notice your game has been reset in a past update, feel free to get in touch, chances are its still on your system, just in a folder named “Slayaway Camp” instead of a folder called “slayaway camp” apparently letter capitalization is a big deal in Linux, and I respect it for that.
  • Made some of the ‘Tutorial hint’ things more clear / easier to read, etc.
  • Background music was turning off after cutscenes. This broke GNÜ TRUNTIONS collective heart. It no longer does this. Rock on GNÜ TRUNTION, Rock on.
  • Blue Wizard / Staff credits didnt show up when you completed the game anymore. This has been resolved so now you can see exactly who made this game, when you finish every puzzle, of course.
  • Sometimes game would get stuck after dying to fire on Movie 2 Deleted Scene “Ritual Gone Wrong” this seems like it would have been part of said ritual that had gone wrong, and therefore a perfect sort of meta-joke, but we fixed it because it wasn’t actually intentional, despite the abundance of ironic humour.
  • Texture and Audio optimizations which should help with performance on older systems, but still look super fly on newer ones.

Get Ready!! On Valentines Day, we will be unveiling the brand new movie "My Gory Valentine" on your video shelves, which boasts a tonne of new puzzle levels, a new killer (Major Miner) and new kill animations. We'll remind you on Valentines Day when it's ready to play!

Happy Slaying,

Skullface & the Slayaway Camp Team

About This Game

Experience a new dimension of gut-blasting terror as an unspeakable killing force of skull-faced killing maims and kills his way through smart-mouthed, over-sexed, substance-abusing young adults. No victim is safe… no law enforcement enforces the law enough… and no animals are harmed… in the summer horror blockbuster smash hit of 1984.

Slayaway Camp is a killer puzzle where you control Skullface, a psychotic slasher bent on slaughtering camp counselors at the title campground. Depicted in colourful voxel graphics, this adorable murderer slides around isometric puzzle levels decapitating, squashing, and perforating his blocky victims. It’s a diabolical logic game that also happens to be a bloody tribute to eighties trash horror.

  • 10 gut-wrenching “videotapes,” plus deleted scenes, for over 200 puzzle levels
  • Traps! Cops! SWAT teams! Land mines! Rotary telephones! Cats!
  • Unlock the NC-17 mode on all movies for even more puzzle insanity (+ censored shower scenes)
  • Starring Mark Meer (Cdr. Shepard from Mass Effect) as “Skullface” and Derek Mears (Jason from Friday the 13th) as “Jessica”
  • Unlock multiple psycho killers, including ones based on cult horror movies such as “American Mary”
  • Discover dozens of spectacular “Gorepack” kill scenes featuring wood-chippers, lawnmowers, Sumerian demon incantations, and more!
  • Genuine hair-metal soundtrack by legendary Canadian group GNÜ TRUNTION

Slayaway Camp is the debut title from Blue Wizard Digital, a collaboration between former PopCap founder Jason Kapalka and indie developers Nate Schmold (Cosmochoria) and Ido Yehieli (Cardinal Quest).
