Major v2.4 Update, Free DLC, and Vulkan Support for Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation Coming on Aug. 24

Massive v2.4 Update Features UI & Balance Updates,Improved Modding Capabilities, Vulkan Support, and More

What's coming in 2.4:

Vulkan Support: Vulkan is a graphics-rendering API that offers enhanced OS compatibility and performance. Some of the benefits include reduced CPU load time and the ability to work on other tasks, plus CPU scaling that takes advantage of multiple cores. Vulkan also runs on different OSes (Windows 7, 8, 10), and still receives all of the advantages as if it were running on the latest OS.

UI Improvements: A full menu reworking makes the game more accessible with new orbital ability icons, improved chat displays, and more.

Campaign and Scenarios: Several scenarios and all 3 campaigns have been updated to refine difficulty levels, adjust to the changes of previous updates, and improve the user experience.

Modding: Modders have access to more parts of the game and will benefit from several changes that makes modding more intuitive.

Balance: Changes to air units, anti-air, drones, and dreadnoughts will improve strategic diversity. The Substrate also received some additional changes in order to differentiate themselves from the PHC.

v2.4 is currently in opt-in and will release on August 24, 2017. View the full v2.4 opt-in change log here.

FREE Co-Op Map Pack DLC

Grab a friend (or two or three!) for some epic battles on 9 brand new maps designed specifically for cooperative play. Spawn points are placed to keep teammates close together to allow for combined attacks and strategies. Clearly defined resources for each player prevents any fighting over spawn locations or expansion opportunities and keeps the maps fair and balanced for everyone.

Check out the new maps:

Delta Serpentis: Step into complete chaos in this medium-sized 4v4 arena. Navigate carefully around terrain, but be careful - defenses could be waiting to ambush you at every turn.

Gamma Draconis: If you like fast-paced and aggressive, this 2v2 desert map is for you. Combine efforts with your teammate for a deadly push through the map’s center, or favor a more devious approach by focusing your enemy's flanks.

Leporis: Build up an economy and grow your army before facing down your opponents. Built for 4 players (2v2) and to give plenty of breathing room, the battles on this map will be large and epic.

Mirach: Choose your paths carefully on this medium-sized 2v2 desert map. Large mountains and a wide basin limits movement, so you’ll have to plan ahead in order to get the drop on your enemy before they get the drop on you.

Merga: This long and narrow 3v3 map is surrounded by lava. Strategize carefully about whether or not you want to duel with your lane opponent, or combine attacks with your teammates for a decisive push.

Rigel: A turtler’s dream, this medium 2v2 map has only a single pathway through its center. You’ll need to concentrate all of your efforts onto the central killing field in order to be successful.

Ross 128: Narrow choke points and multiple pathways across this small 2v2 map mape for different strategies and attack paths. If you’re quick, you can lock down sections of the map and create some serious roadblocks for your opponents.

Talitha: For players who like huge, long battles with two team mates, Talitha features a wide open battlefield on the desert lowground and is the biggest 3v3 map to date.

Trappist: Designed for 3v3, but playable in many other game modes, the center of this medium-sized map contains a massive stockpile of resources. You’ll have to move quickly to prevent it from falling into your enemy's hands.

The FREE Co-Op Map Pack DLC releases on August 24, 2017.

Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation v2.3 is Now Available

Juggernauts and a Brand New Campaign Arrive in v2.3

Dominate the battlefield with two brand new tier 4 warships and experience the fully voiced "Genesis" campaign

Let's take a Quick Look at these Terrifying Tier 4 units:

PHC - The Leonidas
A heavy Dreadnought destroyer, this ship boasts the most powerful weapon ever mounted on a construct. It can tear Dreadnoughts apart and stand up to assaults by using its rail cannons and auto cannons for defense. The high cost is worth all of the heavy firepower of this Juggernaut; when it joins the war, you'd better find a way to deal with it quickly.

Substrate - The Nest of the Queen
This massive warship summons an entire army of frigates to overwhelm the enemy with the support of rapidly-replacing assault and repair drones. The on-board shield generator makes this Juggernaut difficult to kill, marking it as a truly terrifying opponent on the battlefield.

Brand new, fully voiced campaign
In "Genesis," a new entity born of hubris and malice appears to threaten Post-humanity and Substrate alike. You'll get to play as members of both the PHC and the Substrate in this 6-mission storyline that introduces the Juggernaut units and allies old enemies in order to take down the entity that threatens to tear the galaxy apart.

The existing campaign has also received some revisions
You'll have access to ships and orbitals that you weren't able to access before in the older missions, and the maps have been adjusted to make more sense. If you thought that the higher level difficulties were too easy before, get ready for a challenge - the AI has been improved so that it's no walk in the park!

v2.3 is now available and waiting in your Steam client

About This Game

The human race has expanded into the galaxy thanks to the wonders of the technological singularity. You have become so powerful that you can manage vast armies across an entire world that provide you with an ever greater galactic empire.

Now, humanity is under assault by a new enemy. Calling themselves the Substrate, they seek to annihilate the human race from existence. You, as an up and coming member of the Post-Human Coalition, must deal with both this new menace as well as renegade humans trying to lay claim to their own worlds.

Play as the Post Human Coalition or their eternal foes the Substrate and battle for control of the galaxy. Experience maps of unprecedented size and detail with the unparalleled power of the world’s first native 64-bit RTS engine, Nitrous.

Enjoy the game online with friends in ranked or unranked multiplayer mode or play it by yourself against a powerful non-cheating AI in skirmish or campaign mode. No matter what mode you play, strategy is the key: deciding what technologies to research, where to send your armies, how to manage your economy, and what units to construct are crucial to victory.

Experience a massive-scale real time strategy game where you wage war across worlds with thousands of units. The conflict has escalated, and it’s time to choose a side.
