About This Game

From Valve (the creators of Counter-Strike, Half-Life and more) comes Left 4 Dead, a co-op action horror game for the PC and Xbox 360 that casts up to four players in an epic struggle for survival against swarming zombie hordes and terrifying mutant monsters.
Set in the immediate aftermath of the zombie apocalypse, L4D's survival co-op mode lets you blast a path through the infected in four unique “movies,” guiding your survivors across the rooftops of an abandoned metropolis, through rural ghost towns and pitch-black forests in your quest to escape a devastated Ground Zero crawling with infected enemies. Each "movie" is comprised of five large maps, and can be played by one to four human players, with an emphasis on team-based strategy and objectives.
New technology dubbed "the AI Director" is used to generate a unique gameplay experience every time you play. The Director tailors the frequency and ferocity of the zombie attacks to your performance, putting you in the middle of a fast-paced, but not overwhelming, Hollywood horror movie.
  • Addictive single player, co-op, and multiplayer action gameplay from the makers of Counter-Strike and Half-Life
  • Versus Mode lets you compete four-on-four with friends, playing as a human trying to get rescued, or as a zombie boss monster that will stop at nothing to destroy them.
  • See how long you and your friends can hold out against the infected horde in the new Survival Mode
  • An advanced AI director dynamically creates intense and unique experiences every time the game is played
  • 20 maps, 10 weapons and unlimited possibilities in four sprawling "movies"
  • Matchmaking, stats, rankings, and awards system drive collaborative play
  • Designer's Commentary allows gamers to go "behind the scenes" of the game
  • Powered by Source and Steam

THE SACRIFICE

"The Sacrifice” is the new add-on for Left 4 Dead.

"The Sacrifice" is the prequel to "The Passing," and takes place from the L4D Survivors' perspective as they make their way South. In addition to advancing the story, "The Sacrifice" introduces a new style finale featuring "Sacrificial Gameplay" where players get to decide who will give their life so the others may live.

In The Sacrifice for Left 4 Dead owners receive "The Sacrifice" campaign playable in Campaign, Versus, and Survival modes.

Left 4 Dead is about 4 survivers in a zombye world

Bill- Your Grandpa who you want to hear about his back in Nam stories.
Zoey- That college student you want to bang.
Louis- He likes his pills.
Francis- A badass biker dude that hates everything and everyone except for you, in reality he is a giant marshmellow.

(both immune)

At first woure leaving your apartment in philly, and must travel threw the subway and sewers to make it to safty in the hospital BUT EVERYONE IS DEAD. So you excapt on a chopper but your pilot is infected so you crash next to a town. Thier you most find another way to get out and you stumble a heavy armer custome vheicle (proubly expired from Dawn of theDead). You later reach Riverside for safty. Due to the pathway blocked on the abandoned highway, the Survivors follow the drainage system of Riverside, to a church with a crazy ♥♥♥ priest who tries to kills you before he turns. When you get to town everyone is dead AGAIN so you most get out on your magical boat. But you went to another infected city like bunch of dumbass where you see a plane fly by so you most make it to the airport, so you travel on roofs like a assassin to the airport where you come up to a plane that needs fuel so you do what your told and you get out. Where you some how end up in the woodlands heading to a militery outpost, the Survivors follow the path to a trainyard, and through a repair warehouse. Following the railway lines, they move past a bridge, a train station, and finally to a Farmhouse Finale. With nobody in sight, the Survivors call via a radio to the military, and from there, wait for a armored personnel carrier to pick them up. and you get out. ANd you live happy in peace, WRONG all becouse you were immune the militery does terrible tessts on you and experiments and you turned. Francis became buff and turned to a tank, Bills smoking habit gave him long cancer and he grew a giant town and was called a smoker becouse he smoked, Zoey became a cry baby babe, and with Louis mad basketball skills he put on a hoodie and started jumping every where. But thier was another test subject who was super fat and started puking everywhere but were not going talk about him becouse he isnt important. The end <3

L4D and its sequel are two of the best zombie games I have ever played (with Dead Rising 2 as another). The campaigns are a good length, allowing for short sittings that get you from start to finish (the ~85 minutes I have on record cover a single campaign, with one death).

I haven't played online multiplayer, but I've played couch co-op on 360, and it's a really good MP; there's an actual incentive to keep your teammates alive (at least the human played ones).

The AI can, unfortunately, be kinda stupid, but that's par for the course. Helpfully, they won't activate horde events by themselves. Unhelpfully, they won't activate *any* buttons by themselves. But generally, they can be counted upon to not do really stupid things (like attacking the normally docile, very dangerous Witch enemy when she's not already aggressive), and they will certainly try to help you out by rescuing you from enemy grapples, and giving you healing when needed.

I would recommend this game to people looking for some fast-paced, zombie-killin' action that doesn't take itself too seriously.

It all started here, the game that played an important role during my high school years.

Now this game is just a shell of its former glory and competitiveness, as many have moved on in life just as I did. This game is still in deep slumber, awaiting the day of its long-deserved revival and comeback.

I absolutley love the L4D series!!! I started with L4D2, but when I noticed that L4D was on sale, I figured that I'd go for it!! Yes, the exact same campaigns are also in the second game, but I really enjoy seeing what the special infected originally looked like, the gameplay, weapons, and how each campaign looked (some minor differences, of course)!

I don't care who you are, how old you are, where you come from or what your gaming experience is. You need to play this game.

In my opinion, this game completely reinvented (maybe even pioneered) cooperative multiplayer. You can expect hundreds of hours of fun with friends.

This game isn't only about how good your aim is, how fast you are, or how well you know the level. It's mostly about how well you know your friends, tough decision making skills, and whether you can stick together and work together as a group.

There's a random generator concept included in level design, meaning enemies don't spawn in the same places when you play a level. This keeps the game interesting as you're never sure what the expect. Level design is excellent, the characters are great and lovable. The story is simple but enough to get you hooked.

If I have to find something negative about the game, I would say that it lacks a good soundtrack.

As of this review, this game is 8 years old, and is still as amazing as it was when it released. I played this game for years on my Xbox 360 before I finally got it on Steam when I got my first computer a year ago. It's a shame I missed out on how much better this game is on PC, graphics and game play wise. Great game for friends.
Sidenote: All the maps from L4D are avaliable on the Steam port of L4D2, which I did not read anywhere before I bought this game, so I would not bother purchasing this game due to its improved counterpart, Left 4 Dead 2.
