Prepare your heart because that ♥♥♥♥ is getting broken.

+ Great soundtrack.
+ Great characters.
+ Great story.
+ Combat is easy to get down pat.
+ Humor, to lighten up the mood.
~ Setting is pretty stale, being set in a post apocolypse and all but what they've done with it is amazing.

Give it a shot, it's a post apocolyptic game unlike anything you've ever seen.

LISA is an RPG set in the post apocalypse where every woman is wiped off the face of the earth and left buildings in the dust and rubbles that is now mountains...

Story Line

You take the role as an imperfect person called Brad Armstrong. After a rough history of an abusive father and horrible bullying, he grows up 20 years later to teach a dogo for 10 years and invents a new fighting style called "Armstrong Style" with various fast attacks such as machine-gun fist, fireball (throwers?), and drop-kick attacks. He takes some drugs called JOY (its implyed in the name) that cause one to forget their troubles and release happiness in their body, maybe causing one to become a JOY-Monster that kills whoever fights them in sight, with a smile still slashed acrossed their face). Another 10 years later, the Wom-ocolypse has occured, he has found a baby girl. He shows them to his 3 roommates and swears only to protect her from the world that contains men, and names her BUDDY. Not LISA, BUDDY (trust me, I got confused too at the beginning). After months and a few years pass by, Brad comes home to find the men DEAD and Buddy gone. He then sets out on a journey to find who has taken Buddy.

Game

As you set upon a journey to find Buddy, you find various people (or animals) to join your renegade and find BUDDY with you. Occaisonally, you will find BARS to hire people you can only find and buy with MAGAZINES, the currency of the current world. MAGAZINES have pornographic features included within, so that seems like the best currency of the world without women. At times, you will come to roads to make increadibly tough decisions. Choose wisely and save constantly, because you will be judged later in the game and you will be punished for mistakes HEARTILY.

Gameplay

Gameplay is overall nice and bareable. You walk with Brad, left and right... climb up ropes and climb up/down tiny slopes. There are some mistakes you might make (or decisions) and you will climb slower... Graphics are pixelated. In battle, you pick from your characters, what they do best (what fits them for their attack). For example, Brad Armstrong has Armstrong Style, and Skills. Or, Olan: Loose an Arrow (he has a bow), Skill. You can guard, use an item or escape. Escapes are 50/50 chance. Sometimes you can get suprise attacked, or vice versa.
Decisions are an important thing in this game...

Emotional/physical Outcome after game???

You will be scarred and sore after playing this game.

Overallness:
This game is extremely heartbreaking towards the end, its definately worth the 10 bucks. With overall senseible gameplay, secrets and trading cards... I'd give it a 9.9/10.
Needs less heartbreaks, more Terry.

Wow.

Just finished the DLC- but this review is on the main game. To preface: I definitely recommend this game. I can't say it's for everyone, but watch the trailer. If you are at all intrigued, go ahead and try it.

I don't even know how to describe what type of game LISA is. It's very tragic, looking back. But over the course of the game, the humor consistently creates a fun atmosphere, contrasting with the dark world you are placed in. The game has it's serious moments, though, and ultimately these dark themes are what hinge the plot forward.

LISA will make you laugh; LISA will make you cry; LISA will make you depressed; LISA will make you hate yourself. All of these are what makes the game what it is. And I love every bit of it.

I can't put into words how LISA will make you feel, or whether you will like it or not. All I can tell you is...

Play it.

This really is one of the greatest RPG's, or games for that matter, ever created.

I still find myself, to this day, relistening to the soundtrack. There's nothing else like it (sadly).

The humor is dark and rich and if you enjoy games reminiscent of Chrono Trigger & Earthbound, then this is a must.

I hope for there one day to be another similar.

LISA is emotionally forgiving as a nuclear bomb.
Its lewd. Its raw. Its about pain ,family ,drugs and all combinations of those three. and how that amalgamation of pain gains a hideous life of its own as a contagious parasite.
The creator is a pretty cool guy too. I cant sing enough praise for it.

Hotline Miami posed a very important question, one that I believe resonates with this game. Richard's inquiries to Jacket seem to echo throughout this game, and I caught myself wondering about Richard's questions more and more as the game progressed...

LISA is a game about hurt. You play as Brad, a middle-aged nobody residing in the wastes of a ruined world. Brad lives with his lifelong friends in the middle of nowhere. Olathe, the name given to Brad's homeland before everything was destroyed, is sparse with human life, rife with monsters, and is entirely devoid of women. All except for Buddy.

"Where are we right now?"

LISA is a game about hurt. People will hurt Brad. People will hurt each other. Brad will hurt people. Brad will hurt. It's not uncommon to hurt, especially when it's the end of the world. Although, even in the end of the world people don't like to hurt. Maybe you'll take Joy and forget about all the pain and hurt, because Joy helps you forget - at least temporarily. Plus, when you can forget about everything that makes you so pathetic, then you can truly become strong. Besides, you're not the only one using Joy, and Joy has virtually no side effects - save for withdrawal.

"Why are we having this conversation?"

LISA is a game about hurt. The game begs the question of whether or not a few strong men can save the world from a sea of dip♥♥♥♥♥. Are you a strong man? Will you do the right thing?

LISA is a game about hurt, so you need to ask yourself something...

"Do you like hurting other people?"

75 minutes into the game.

I gave away my first party member to thugs in order to keep my jerky.

I set a bunch of orphans on fire.

The game that makes you feel self loathing and depression like no other, while somehow still being really funny.

I don't know if that is a good thing or not.

Lisa is one of the best games I have played recently. It is an old school RPG that goes back to the fundamentals; character development, proper pacing, mini games and turn based battle system. The game is quite emotional as it does an excellent job of providing context and placing you in percarious positions where you have to make tough decisions. It also does a great job of outlining the world you are in and has a bunch of hidden content throughout.

If you're a fan of old school RPG's then you will love this game. I highly recommend it.

This game is a story of a hero that is not a hero saving a damsel in no distress. With funny, uncomfortable, and depressing moments. This game will make you question your morality choices and force you to make choices that depend on life and death. Soundtrack will make you feel a lot of things. Finally the gameplay is 2d rpg and is still fun to explore. Just try not to go off edges when exiting certain paths. It may save you alot of time.

The story ends on quite a note in The joyful and dingaling did mention he might come back to this game with a story about terry hintz. So that is neat.

good game. funny as hell at times, especially when its being brutally, deliberately unfair. if that scares you off just try it anyway. keep terry in the party because he says the most heartbreaking things in the entire game and if you hurt him ill hurt you.
