R36.1 Game Update

Get ready to test your skills in a brand new PvP arena and sample the pure power of three new weapons as our October update hits today. Read on to discover exactly what's new.

New PTB map – Pyramid

If you've tested your mettle in our Anubis Co-op mission, you should feel right at home when you get down to business in PTB Pyramid. Our newest plant the bomb map takes you back to the deserts of North Africa for a deadly PvP duel that's guaranteed to go off with a bang. With opportunities for each class to make a strategic impact, and a cyborg horde waiting to break out at the plant sites, there's plenty to play for.

New weapons
Smashing Blackwood's elite troops takes tactics and teamwork. But it doesn't hurt to have some serious firepower either. Thankfully, Warface HQ has been hard at work on a trio of badass new weapons for Snipers and Medics who like to get a little more bang for their buck.

Both versions of the SVK-AS Sniper Rifle will be available for purchase for Warface Dollars via a Random Box.

The SX-41 Shotgun will be available for purchase directly in the in-game shop for Warface Dollars.

Silent boot fix
We have fixed the sound issue with silent boots cancelling all noises. Now, only the sound of footsteps will be reduced/cancelled. All other sounds (gear, arming/disarming bombs) will be active.

Game client optimization
We've optimized the following maps to improve performance on low-end hardware (especially integrated Intel HDxxxx GPUs).
  • Hideout
  • TDM Oil Depot
  • TDM Hangar 2.0
  • PTB D17
  • STM Blackgold

Bug fixes and other changes
More game client optimizations, new achievements (over 50!), and a lot, lot more – it's all incoming, so we've prepared a detailed overview of all the other changes and bug fixes in the full patch notes. You'll find them in our brand new HUB Patch Notes section.

R35.1 Game Update

The latest game update will wow you with new Co-op missions, smoking guns, and our new Crysis-inspired Nanosuit style skins!

New PvE missions

Our new Co-op maps, based in our Africa setting, will come in 2 different variants and feature wide open spaces, narrow caves, and dangerous passages. The missions will combine vertical with horizontal gameplay and culminate in an arena-like drilling area perfect for up close and personal showdowns. The heat is on in these hot new maps.

New weapons

And a Warface update wouldn't be a Warface update without adding yet more cool new weapons to the already expansive Warface arsenal!

Inspired by the pistol made in the Czech Republic and firstly introduced in 1986, the WX-86 handgun features a staggered-column magazine, all-steel construction, and a hammer forged barrel. Say hello, to our not so little friend.

The TT-3000 is inspired by a Russian submachine gun, designed as a close-quarter combat weapon for Police and Special Forces alike. Experience the devastating power of one of the two standard SMGs which Russian police use as standard issue. No messing about here.

Nanosuit up!

The legendary Crysis Nanosuit hits Warface!

The iconic battle gear that has seen service in four epic Crysis games is coming to Warface in the form of unique new character skins. Whether you're a Rifleman, Medic, Sniper, or Engineer, there's a Nanosuit just for you.

Want to get your hands on one? Of course you do. The Nanosuit skin is exclusive to the Auction House, so get down there and get bidding.

What's your zodiac sign?

Are you spontaneous and daring like an Aries or reliable and modest as a Virgo. No matter what sign you were born under – we've got an achievement for everyone. Check our shop to find your perfect mark and pimp your loading screen even further with the mystical Zodiac badge and stripe.

Gameplay changes and improvements

As part of our journey to make Warface the most action-packed and fair place for everyone, we are introducing two exciting new features for Ranked Games:

  • Surrender Option: Want to leave a game but can't handle the incoming ban? You'll now be able to initiate a surrender vote after 30 seconds if you think that you stand no chance against your opponents. But you won't be needing the white flag now, will you warrior?

  • Win-Streak Bonus: Now you will be awarded more points the more ranked matches you win in a row. Got skills? Accelerate your ascent to higher ranks without having to fight lower ranking players for too long. And if you're a lower ranked player yourself, you'll fight those highly skilled contestants less often, so this change will make the Ranked mode a more balanced experience.

Bug Fixes and other changes

Game client optimisations, new instant rewards, and a lot, lot more – it's all incoming, so we've prepared a detailed overview of all the other changes and bug fixes in the full patch notes. Head over to the forum.

This game would be great except for two things:

1) It is absolutely rampant with hackers and the developers are doing exactly zero about it. VIPs are never banned no matter how obvious the hackers are. It is actually worse since EAC was brought in because now the developers are doing nothing about any of it.

2) They make some weapons so unholy expensive and over-powered that if you are not a VIP you can't even afford to get it, much less maintain it. It turns into a full on pay-to-win.

I am uninstalling and spending exactly zero dollars on this because the developers are too busy trying to figure out how to force players to pay for VIP status to actually maintain their servers. They don't even have any in-game admins to ban obvious hackers during gameplay and it is nearly impossible to kick them off the server because you need an 80% majority to get rid of them.

Boo hiss for this giant waste of time pile of crap game.

Bugface has improved recently.

-new missions have been added to the game
-the game breaking bug where the missions would not load has been fixed

-the console field of view is still horrifically narrow
-the repair costs for the permanent gear are still really annoying
-the friendly fire on the insane missions is still abused by ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ people

I am running this game in 2400x1000 in order to force a wider FOV and to get rid of jaggies. If you want to know what this game looks like with a decent FOV then you can see the screenshots on my profile.

Review from sept 2016. Ok, there is a fair amount to like about this game, which others have mentioned, and I co-op with friends, which is why I even got this game. What I'm going to talk about, is the negatives, which are significant.

Can you play this as a ftp game? Sure. Basically though, it's a very much PTW game, as mentioned by others. Decent weaps and gear in game cost up to $50 usd FOR ONE ITEM. Seriously not a joke with that price. Mid-range gear runs ~ 10$ usd for a rifle, armor, etc. If you're running stock gear without paying for upgrdes that don't drop ingame, you will always score poorly due to your "teammates" (a term I use very loosely as few know what a @$#@ing team is in this game) overgearing you, being unkillable, and taking all the kills.

The biggest issue, is the lag. Running an Asus G11 gaming rig with a 30 mbps hardlined internet connection with ~11ms ping to my local hub, shots can take up to 2 SECONDS to register since the last patch in July 2016. While we can now see everyone's ping ingame average is a single bar with yellow connection, and single bar red is sadly incredibly common. Contributing to this, is that regions are not forced, they are voluntary. So the US server, gets a ton of russian and asian players, significantly adding to the lag. By not forcing closest servers, Crytek is killing this game. Before the last patch, game was generally playable, and often enjoyable concerening lag. Always noticeable, but doable for a ftp game. Since the "update" or should I say down-date... I have abandoned the game unless a friend is online and wants to co-op.

3rd issue, though only affecting a few of us, is stock char skins are male. So if you happen to be a gal, it costs ya 10$ to look like one ingame. SERIOUSLY WTF CRYTEK ???

Don't waste your time with this one unless they decide to actually use decent servers (do a search for which ones they use and you will understand) and force closest region connections to make the game actually playable. Which sux because the game itself, when it works, is fun and uses low system resources so is acessable to everyone.

Its dynamic
And also it's fun ( especially with friends )
oh and i frogot to talk about something very important

of course the game has it's flaws, like some awfully unbalanced weapons and people who have 1000 hours on the game and some badass equipement, but don't worry, you can frag them asses

I'll give it a 7/10, and I recommand it

As a Free to play you need to invest a decent amount of grinding before you get some decent permanent gear and armor, It will take atleast 8 solid hours just to unlock a few novice items, but as you start the game will shower you with some nice weapons that are temporary. id probably say 6/10 for fun in pve starting off, its a bit better than okay. If you play it like as a premium game then money could be better spent but you will get a lot more enjoyment out of it. Pve missions are really fun when you get a well balanced group that isnt selfish with support, but this brings me to the cons of the game. Its hard to get a balanced team unless you already play a match or grab a group of friends a chat before a private match, this is because there is no server browser and you are thrown into a game without knowing which class to pick, so sometimes it can be a game full of only snipers or assaults and you get slaughtered, on a side note the game is generous with premium respawn tokens if you want to respawn early to save the game. this game is largely freemium but is very playable if you dont want to spend money. Graphics and optimization, This game is actually pretty well optimized and can easily run 40-60 fps on a cheap or older computer on medium settings. It looks decent, not too pretty but the map and level designs are very intuitive. The only major problem I have with the graphics is that no matter what I change in graphics or even my nvidia control panel there is a very ugly type of blur, even after turning motion blur off you can see after frame trails of your weapon and anything near you, but its not that bad and its pretty easy to get used to. I was starting to get very bored but then I learned they change their levels up. Even though the game asks for money in a lot of places I have to give some respect on the fact they are very generous with free items at the start and level up to give a boost to you if you are having a tough time getting some decent gear. Overall I enjoy it, Im not too fond of the pvp as the level and gamemode selection is pretty small and it can get boring fast. Its definitly something to enjoy playing here and there but you will normally get bored then have to wait for some different levels after a bit of a wait.

This game is a great ftp fps. Its not ptw at all it may seem like it because the people who do pay have better looking guns than you but thats not the case in fact some of the pay for weapons are ♥♥♥♥ while the weapons buyable with in game currency are actually really good. This game is not ptw I do really well versus against people with pay for weapons and I just use one of the first assault rifles you get with a grip and holographic and I do fairly well. The games does has some issues though, I feel like the Co-op ai could be a little bit more intelligent sometimes they will just stand in once place and shoot you instead of using cover etc etc but other than that Co-op is fun whith a great team especially on the harder levels. I would reccomend any person who enjoys fps try this game out and best of all its free.

Right out of the gate I had problems as it took over a month for the activation email to actually show up. Trying to contact the customer support was fruitless as I needed an active account to contact them creating a perfect circle of crap. To be honest even getting the account active I didn't bother playing for another month, only giving it a try out of boredom. Had to reinstall twice to get the damn game to even launch, not counting the massive amount of time to even get in game to play for the first time.

The PvP modes are a mess. Out of 5 games I played 3 of them had people using obvious cheats/exploits. Hell even the legit systems are frustrating and unfun as I was getting slaughtered instantly by people that have either paid for better weapons or people that are miles above you.

The PvE system (which was what I was most interested in) is a joke. Every mission high ranked players would just run through the entire thing one-shotting NPC's. Let me tell you it's astoundingly fun to spend my time desperately trying to keep up, while never getting a chance to fire my gun once. That is assuming you can actually get players to play co-op. Constant long waits just for a lobby to start with the mentioned high level players doing all the work is boring as sin.

MY biggest gripe is the GOD AWFUL item system. Buying weapons is stupidly expensive, with weapons costing upwards $10 a pop! It takes ages to grind up the money to unlock anything permanently, otherwise you are stuck "renting" weapons for a few days (with a timer that goes down even if you are not using them). I am amazed that people are actually defending this stupid, ♥♥♥♥♥♥, system like it’s a good thing. Even unlocking something forever, you end up having to pay for a damn maintenance cost? Are you kidding me? So I don't get to really save my hard earn cash for guns and equipment as much as toss them in a money sink for repairs? Even spendign real cash, means I have to play quite a bit to have money for repairs! This system is rigged way too hard to get people to waste real money just to make headway. So unless you are a whale with hundreds of dollars of disposable income, then this game is not for you.

Don't even bother downloading, This is a garbage game with a garbage greedy dev team.
