Near the beginning of the game I farmed the Card Pairs game in Bowerstone for about an hour.
When starting with a pitiful 100 gold, I ended up with a whopping 50,000 gold.
At this point I was able to buy a Master Greatsword from the guild store, and eventually I easily leveled my Physique to 3 so I could use it.
The rest of the game was a breeze, and later on I found the Solus Greatsword in North Bowerstone, and I was once again determined to acquire an end-game weapon early on.
A half hour later, I finally got the Solus Greatsword, and kept it through the rest of the game.

10/10 would get an end-game weapon at the beginning again

Personally a game that will never be too old to come back to and play, the charm will always be there and I'm glad they remastered it. The Nostalgic feeling of running around Albion doing quests and performing deeds, good or bad always makes me come running back to this game every once in a while, it's great not just for old fans but for new fans looking to get into the series.

This remaster is great as it isn't just an upscale either, its a full remaster of the game, from textures to lighting effects, the graphics may not be as good as say a game like The Witcher 3 or the Battlefield series but in its own right the game is quite beautiful, the art style and vivid colours make the game very enjoyable to just look around and appreciate the world of Albion.

Although I do recommend getting this during a sale as i've done though, as the full price tag just isn't worth it in my eyes.

Overall I rate this a 9/10.

P.S.
I do wish they could of been able to release Fable 2 and re-release Fable 3 for PC.

Worst optimization ever
For an old remastered game even on low settings this game runs painfully slow. And its not just me, everyone is having performance and graphics issues. Good thing i got this game on sale. If you want to revisit and play this nostalgic game then just buy Fable: Lost chapters since its more smooth and playable then this abombination.

So impressed with this because it is simply JUST a HD remaster. Nothing more! The character animations, voice acting etc are all original which maintains the nostalgia of the original game. The slightly robotic animations may not appeal to new players but in my opinion HD remakes should all be just like this - made for the lovers of the original game. Also ive seen minor additions to the surroundings such as little animals like squirrels that will run up a tree as you get near to them which im sure wasn't in the original game. The menu's have been re-done but I have to admit I do prefer the original games menus for things like inventory etc but this is no biggy. I get stupidly good frames on this game maxed out too - 150 - 250fps at 1440p and although I do use a GTX1080 im pretty sure it should be good performance across the board especially at 1080p. Anyway the biggest positive asside from the visual upgrade is the fact that this game has controller support! I can finally use an xbox 360 pad. The original fable game and the lost chapters didn't support this and tbh i dislike the keyboard and mouse controls for anything other than archery so this is a big win. I waited until the steam summer sale for this because of a surprising amount of negative reviews but i seriously would not have regretted paying full price for this game. Brilliant.

While this is a "Remastered" version of the original X-Box Fable, gameplay elements certainly aged. You will notice the story has no pace at all and things just happen too quickly in cutscenes. Combat is all about mashing the attack button.

However the game is unique and still has its charm. Lots of silly fun can be had with it.

If you are into action button mashing games and open world RPG, then I recommend to get this game when it is on sale.

Great game. I see why people might not like it, but for a person who really liked Fable 3 (got into the franchise there), I like this game so much more. After playing this one for 25 hours, I tried to pick up Fable 3 again, and wow I just realized how bad that game is. If you liked any of the fable games, this one will be a good addition to your collection.

- Pretty decent remake, cut-scenes are pretty much the same. But the environments, game-play and UI feel really fluid/ well rendered.

After finishing the game, I can safely say that this is one of the better rpg's out there. It does a lot of things very well, and lets the player explore on their own without forcefeeding. Gg.

Just how I remember the fable games! I played all of them on console, fable 2 and 3 being my favourites. I pretty much forgot about this game after playing those, but it's all coming back to me and it is DEFINITELY worth playing if you're into genres such as this, or if you've played any other fable games. Even if you've already played this through on console, play it again! I love that it's been remastered, just like all fable games, the story is a bit repetitive but it's real easy to get in to, just don't skip the cut scenes or you won't know what the hell has happened. Also, there is a bit of an annoying 'issue' in the cut scenes, 2 black lines appear sort of like making the screen a cinematic view however it just looks dodgy, like some sort of glitch, but that's only during the cut scenes so it's not a big issue.

Either way, I definitely recommend this game whether you've played it or not. The combat is pretty easy but super fun! The quests are sometimes story rich, and sometimes they're just comical (like searching for a man who's cheating on his wife, then snitching on him and watching her rip his head off.. not literally). You can get haircuts, get married, get tattoos, there's loads to do!

The greatest thing about the fable games is the good deeds or bad deeds. You change the way people view you, they could be scared of you or dislike you because you chose to follow an evil path and perform bad deeds, or they could root for you and clap every time they see you because you're known as a hero and perform good deeds!

So yeah, I recommend it, it's old, but it's gold! (I got it for £4.00 in the sale, bonus!!!)

They remastered the graphics and that's it, you will notice the aged gameplay immediately and the new graphics don't really fit in at all.

I loved the old Fable artstyle. it was whimiscal yet realstic, it had the best of both worlds. This "Anniversary Edition" completely changes the faces of characters you once loved, making you turn your head every single cutscene, it's hard to decide if this 'upgrade' is worth it or not if you played the original to death.
They advertise that there is 'new gameplay', but I have yet to experience any of it, and maybe I am missing it but I thought they maybe meant new controls.
This game does not control particularily well if you're used to modern 3rd Person games, it was awesome when it was released, and still is if you ask me as a long time fan. However, if you find this game as a newcomer who plays the Witcher 3 or similar modern titles, you might not feel the same. I personally love the controls of this game and honestly I believe it's because I originally played the game on the Xbox.

I'd personally say buy the original, the graphics still look decent and the gameplay is pretty much identical.

I really loved the Original for XBox way back in the day. I've been tossing around getting "The Lost Chapters" or "Anniversary Edition" for awhile now, the #1 factor became full controller support. I guess TLC does not support the full controller, so i went the Anniversary route.

Pros:
+Still Feels and Plays the same
+Fun emotes and tomfoolery
+The Story is still a good "Fable"
+Unique Weapons and Armor to find/buy
+Really devestating Spells to unleash
+HD Visuals and HD Audio
++Full Controller Support

Cons:
-Even though it's fun, this is still just a remaster of the original
-"The Lost Chapters" would have been a more complete Fable Exp for an Anniversary Edition
