Have you played the original game? You will like this one, as it's the same with HD textures and models, some gameplay tweaks, and new features.

If you have never played this game before, this is a good opportunity to try it right now.
However, keep in mind that this is not a really deep game when we talk about roleplay. This is an excellent adventure game though, which is why I really support and recommend it.

i got to relive the rage once more of dealing with Whisper in the Arena. Watching her walk into the razor traps while i get pummeled by 2 trolls was an experience I'd nearly forgotten.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this rerelease. But I loved the original, and even more with the lost chapters. I think I had gotten my hopes up a little too high though, as there are no real notable changes. If you're a huge fan of Fable, and wish that the background scenery looked a hair better and really wanted steam achievements(and if the price tag is worth it for you), then buy it.

If you have never played fable before, or aren't sure about it, and still want to play it, I would just buy the original. It's a lot cheaper and very much exactly the same thing, minus a couple extra polygons, achievements, and some in game items that aren't exactly good enough to use by the time you can afford them.

This game is $35.
It adds HD graphics (it is pretty), controller support and windowed mode. That is all, at least that I've seen.
The DLC for this game is $25. It consists solely of costumes you will never use and are inferior to the base-game armors.

I've had the game lock up on me several times, unable to progress until I loaded a previous save from about an hour ago. You cannot save in the middle of missions. Good luck!

Fable: The Lost Chapters is available for $10 and includes all of the same content minus the DLCs and the aforementioned additions. Unless your hobbies include frivolous spending and frustration regarding games not working correctly, you should save your money.

Good port, same old Fable. Not much has changed except from the graphics. If you never played The Lost Chapters, it's worth giving this a go.

I still can't get over how badly the messed up the hero's model, though. At childhood, he looks like a junkie midget. No joke.

This is exactly what i have been waiting for, I loved the first fable and the original gameplay but each sequel "dumbed" the game down more, which was not a bad thing because the control scheme got much more better but you could not control all the aspects of the game because they were trying to make it simpler. But i already played fable once and I felt that buying The lost chapters did not really warrant me buying a new copy of the game. Then Lionhead announced this game, and I was almost going to pass it up, until I looked into it further. Some people don't seem to appreciate the effort lionhead put into this, they COMPLETELY remade the whole game in a new engine. They had to port all the old textures and remake them into higher definitions which is pretty much saying they made new textures just the same style as the original game. It is not as buggy as the old one is on newer systems as well and thats a plus.

TL;DR It is a complete overhaul of a remake, they left no stone unturned. If you liked the original game and never bought the lost chapters you should buy this. If you have the lost chapters, consider if all the bells and whistles are worth the money first.

P.S. I also suggest you get a xbox controller to play this game with. It really makes this game shine and works flawlessly.

Amazing remake of the first fable game, Fable The Lost Chapters. Love the graphics, the story of this fable game is just the best! And they have also added a few extra cool weapons, along with all the other ones.

There's also a Heroic mode, a harder gameplay for those who are looking for a challenge, it gets harder but it's so much fun.

And a huge plus; there's achievements in this game. So there's lots of fun to do.
Reccomend this for anyone regardless if you have already played Fable or not. This is a game that everyone must play. :)

As good as it was back then and polished even more better. Very actively supported by the developer at this time of writing. Those who hate just do not read at all and totally newbies out of the box.

Fable was one of the original games that allowed you to decide who you wanted to be. It was a very popular game for that reason. Fable 1, TLC and Anniversary will always be better than Fable 2 and Fable 3. Not that I didn't enjoy those games either. It's nearly impossible to see sequels or anything further, best the first and original game. With a large community that has loved and cherished this game through the years; there can be a LOT of mods and new content on the approach. Not sure what happened with the Custom Tattoo feature that was previously in The Lost Chapters.

I'm sure that most of you, if not all, have beaten the story line at least once. The story line was superb and I will pretty much leave it at that. You must see the story for yourself, since there are multiple ways of gameplay.

The new updated graphics are very appealing. Runs a lot smoother than TLC and deifnitely the original. They had fixed some glitches from the previous versions and they have also developed new ones that are currently being addressed. I've been enjoying this game like I have when I first got it. It has a lot of replay value.

If you are new to RPGS, I would definitely recommend this game to you for a starter.

Fable Aniversary is very nicely visually freshened. If you liked the original, this update is a no-brainer. Still highly entertaining and addictive as ever. The controls are a little quirky, but should not be a problem for novice or veteran gamers. There was an update to the controls in the middle of my second playthrough, but the originals still worked so I didn't change. If what you want is a good time, with some campy style and an unusual sense of humor, Fable Annivrsery is for you.

I played Fable Original and Fable TLC, I loved those games, I got Fable Anniversary for Steam here and not only are the graphics noticably increased, but they have the game controller setup just like the consel games which is very helpful. Admittingly it would be nice to add this game to Steam Workshop, it is still great.

I am hoping they will bring both Fable 2 and Fable 3 to Steam so I can add those to my collection as well. And as always it would be nice for Steam Workshop capability.

Had a lot of problems when it first came out, but a lot of them got patched in about 24 hours.
I've heard that some people are still having issues but I enjoyed playing it a lot.

This game is horribly British.

But that's ok! In some universe. It's also a console port so get ready to deal with awful menu controls. They patched up most of the issues (oakvale lag, no enter button on menu) and fixed the blury issue. It actually looks pretty good, and the art style will begin to grow on you. By the end of the game, I actually loved it and started taking screenshots.

Character growth is nice and the ability to still hit achievements from both evil and good sides of the ball is great. The combat is fun and engaging. Even if you're into only one style of combat (ranged, melee, magic), you'll eventually earn enough XP to flesh each system out enough to make them all useful in different situations.

The game is well written. It has some pretty comedic moments, some "hard choice" moments, and no matter what you're not stressing about right or wrong you just play it and do. The concept of your player changing by way of decision making is fantastic as there isn't a right or wrong; it's just exactly what it is.

The map is ♥♥♥♥ing terrible. The menu controls are ♥♥♥♥ing terrible. The auto target is ♥♥♥♥ing terrible. Vendors are awful. Some quests are bugged. But what do you expect from a 10 year old game? They did a great job rebuilding the world and modernizing its appearance but it still suffers from old world bugs.

It was worth playing through the bugs and any action-RPG fan needs to give this a good play through. Waiting for Fable 2 (on PC).

Edit: turn off vsync in game, use a forced vsync from your graphics card. You're welcome.
