If you are someone who needs more than just combat to continue enjoying the game, you may get tired of this fairly quickly”

We are aware that we haven't addressed any of the GUI issues, we are currently remaking the GUI which will fix these when done.

You may have noticed that this patch is mainly bug fixes this is because we decided after PAX east that we needed to address some of the more fundamental issues in KR. Don't worry these larger features are coming soon.

-Sword countering system has been removed, if swords collide at equal power they will hit in the middle

We apologize that this update has taken so long, we had a couple of non-KR issues to work through.

We have a LOT of exciting nearly finished new content that we really wanted in this update but decided we were taking to long so we releasing what is finished.

Once again remember this is still in early access so there will be bugs so please post them as you find them.

Charge into combat in beautifully crafted fantasy environments that silhouette the action.

Read your opponent and try to psych them out in tactical blade duelling.
Wield spells such as fireball, freeze and invisibility that will fit tightly in tandem with your strengths in swordsmanship.

With deep character customizations every fight is unique and every opponent will have a trick up their sleeve.
Experiment with different combinations and strategies to create a knight with a fighting style unique to you alone.

Players can form a team with friends and fight in competitive modes.

We are constantly trying to re-balance the game and fix bugs as quickly as we can, but please understand that not every problem will be fixed at launch. Players of the Early Access builds should expect some features to still be under construction and point them out to the developers.
There will be many more spells, armors, swords, maps and other content added to the game as time goes on. The amount of content present in this build is in no way final, there is much more on the way.

Después de una hora y media de analizar el juego viendo videos y leyendo reviews negativas y positivas, me decidí a comprarlo, y no me arrepiento, ni me encontré con nada que no esperara. Muchas de las críticas negativas que se ven parten por el completo desconocimiento de lo que "Acceso anticipado/Early Access" y Alpha significan: que el producto no está terminado, que está en desarrollo, no esperes un alfa/beta calidad Minecraft, porque es raro en la industria. Al comprar el juego, están haciendo una inversión, como si esto fuera un kickstarter, y si no analizan la inversión que piensan hacer, viendo videos y leyendo análisis, no esperen que el juego les satisfaga fácilmente.
Kingdoms Rise tiene fallas por todos lados:
-Menús horribles.
-Glitchs y bugs a patadas.
-Falta bastante personalización y equipamiento.
-Las actualizaciones tienen poca frecuencia.

¿Y por qué aun así lo recomiendo?
-Porque lo que se puede jugar es divertido, porque es un juego que requiere habilidad, táctica e ingenio en el combate de espadas, a diferencia de muchos otros juegos que andan por ahí en la actualidad.
-Porque hay pocos juegos parecidos
-Porque quiero que este juego siga avanzando, porque me gusta lo que tiene y lo que promete.
-Porque me gustan los efectos visuales, y los entornos y ambientes.
-Porque las actualizaciones que listan los desarrolladores prometen cosas interesantes y cambios importantes, entre ellos, lo más cercano y visible, que es el cambio de toda la interfaz, y del engine.
-Porque los desarrolladores están activos en el foro, y eso es más de lo que se puede decir de muchos juegos en Steam.

Pero no te quedes solo con mi análisis, ni con algún otro negativo o positivo. Te insto a que leas todo lo que puedas, veas todos los gameplay que encuentres, y recién ahí tomes tu decisión sobre si querés o no apoyar el juego en el estado en el que está.

Please everyone don't buy this game. Developers ditched this game and are putting it on sale as a chance to get some extra money. They do not update this game anymore!
Unfinished game that will never be finished.


EDIT: Well a couple hours after I posted the review, there was an update.. (lol)
Well it does look like it's being developed, after this recent update the game is mostly playable and pretty enjoyable. Well If you are going to buy this game, I do NOT recommend buying this game at the full price. Catch it on sale!

First off I would like to say that I've been playing this game since the beginning and have literally not stopped playing. If what you're looking for is a multiplayer melee experience similar to that of war of the roses or mount & blade, but set in a fantasy world where you control magic at your fingertips, then look no further. This game really delivers, for an alpha.

The updates in this game take awhile since there are only two devs working on the game and they do aim for monthly updates, doesn't always happen but they do let us know what is going on. As I have said the game is still in alpha and will have some bugs here and there. Playing with a low ping is highly recommended. Anything over 130 (in game not in the server menu) is not very playable.

Right off the bat you are able to customize your knight in some impressive fantastical armor and clothing, but there are also choices for some more 'realistic' gear. Devs are adding new things all the time and are always showing off their progress on the Kingdoms Rise facebook page.

As of right now there isn't a tutorial in-game, but one can be seen in the guides section made by the devs. You don't need to look at the tutorial, but believe me when I say, at the very least look at the parry and parry lock section of the manual. It will save you a lot of grief in game and once you master those skills, gameplay becomes even more addicting. You can get away with spamming away attack with other new players, but once you meet someone who knows how to parry, you will most likely lose. Luckily, those experienced few in the community are always willing to help out new players and usually it isn't too hard to ask these guys for some help.

There are many different swords in the game, each with their special effects and stats. They aren't perfectly balanced, but your use in magic and skill with the sword is enough to offset any of the swords' abilities currently available. Magic in this game isn't over powered and is meant to be used to complement your swordsmanship as well as mold the playstyle you want. You can only equip 2 spells, however, you are able to have doubles of any spell as well as have a large selection to choose from. There are many types of spells from attack, to defense, to healing and mobility. Mix and match to create the playstyle you want.

You will have a hard time at first controlling the sword with your mouse due to the nature of the screen moving with you as you strike, but like I said, look up the tutorials and get some practise performing the moves. They do require some timing and precision, so if an easy mode game is what you're looking for, then you are in the wrong place. However, if you're looking for a competetive game where the skill cap is high and it is very much possible for a skilled player to take on an entire team, without the use of cheap tricks/exploits, this game is for you.

Kingdoms Rise, in its early development presents players with the opportunity to beat the living S*** out of their friends or foes from around the world. Introducing a perfect blend between magic usage and melee combat, it could arguably be considered the magical equivelant of the Chivalry series. The weapon conbat is fluent and precise, with parrying and blocking working efficiently and allowing for some truly awesome duels.

Kingdoms Rise, though an awesome game has several flaws which hinder its sucess in the playability area. The foremost of which being a lack of players. Some games become simply outstanding when played on a full server, alas, Kingdoms Rise seldom presents the possibility for this. The game in its pre-release accomplished more by ways of player versus player melee combat than many other games have accomplished in their whole lifetime.

Whether you play Kingdoms Rise for its awesome character customization, to blow your friends to pieces with fireballs, to teleport behind enemies and impale them on a blade of flames, Kingdoms Rise is for you.
The only recommendation I offer to those playing it is to go in with an open mind. The game has its bugs, as one would expect from an early release game. Though any braincell-possessing human being can see the potential in this title. Regardless of what the game is like now, it leaves me and other players with a ready mind for the full release.

When this game fully releases, it will be a game to remember.
