Kingdoms Rise is about palpable multiplayer fantasy battle. Take your choice of weapons and abilities onto a battlefield where skill alone will decide your fate.

With a multitude of armors, swords, spells, ranged weapons and more you can customize a warrior and a fighting style unique to you.

Kingdoms Rise makes fantasy combat something more than grind a earn level-ups. It's not a means to an end but and end in itself.
The feeling of steel against steel is made solid. Bringing all tension and thrill as knights wield sword and fire against each other.

Read your opponent and try to psych them out in tactical blade dueling.
Wield spells such as fireballs, lightening, hook-shots, invisibility and blinks that will work tightly in tandem with your strengths in swordsmanship.
This game has been build from the beginning to feel palpable, as though you control every muscle and plant every step. You wont watch a knight perform fancy pants maneuvers from simple button presses, instead you step into the very boots of your character and fight with your own finesse.

With deep character customization every fight is unique and every opponent will have a new trick up their sleeve.
Experiment with different combinations and strategies to create a knight with a fighting style unique to you alone.

Players can form parties with friends and fight in competitive modes.
In team games the only limit is your imagination. Your teammates can build themselves into roles such as tanks, damage dealers, supports or any new role you see fit. Think up new strategies, combine spells in interesting ways and achieve victory!

Best game I've ever played. Has Bugs, since it's early access, but they're minor, and game is fully playable. Game is amazing.

It's skill based, has a Mount and Blade/War of the Roses-style sword-fighting mechanics + tons of magical abilities that can be used on the go, like in Lichdom Battlemage.

Multiplayer Game Modes:

- Team Death Match
- Death Match (Free For All)

Single-Player Game Modes:

-Survival (Horde Mode)
- Practice area where you can go 1v1 against bots.

10/10 will play until release.

*NOTE: the trailer video is outdated. the UI is far better now and there are more spells, customization options for asthetics and weapons.

Do you want to bathe in the blood of your enemies in a multiplayer, mideval fighting game?
Do you want to fight others in glorious, skill based battle with parying, dodgine, rolling, all in real time, not in quick time events?
Do you want large customization and many skills/weapons for countless playstyles, with NO "op" weapons or spells?
If this doesn't sound good enough, let me tell you a story.

i met a guy. i stabbed him in the chest, yanked my blade out of his chest along with his lungs, and ripped the blade through his head with the remaining momentum. yeah, you can do that.

The reason people don't like this game, is because it's skill based. you need to parry, by swinging in the right direction. you need to block, by blocking in the right direction. you need to dodge, roll, know how to counter other people's spells. controlls wonky? i haven't had a problem. when you die in this game, it's because you lost a fight. and thats a good thing. This game is not "promising", it has already FULFILLED it's promises and more. The updates are not very frequent. true. but this game is so fun they don't meed to be. plus, a HUGE update just came to the game. so, pick this game up. trust me, it's worth the $15.

A really promising game, sadly no one is really playing it a whole lot.

it seems to move slowly, as they aren't many working on it, but it's really fun. As long as anyone else is playing. Which seems to be the problem. It's a pretty dead game, but hopefully some marketing once it's released will change that.

Do not play this if you ever want to play a finished game. Released in November 2013, not much better in March 2015.

Dev is too slow with updates, and the player base is consistantly ~1 person avg every month. Biggest regret on Steam.

Early Access-Review
I was extremely excited about this game when I first got it...it seems like everything that I ever wanted in a competitive fantasy game like this. The swordplay worked well, the blink teleports made getting around quick and exciting, and the game looked really cool. I would have recommended it in a heartbeat.

However, I can't do that in good conscience anymore. Unfortunately, the game has bugs that haven't been fixed after months, the community is tiny at this point, and, while this might just be me, I feel like the game has gotten less responsive when it comes to attacking and parrying.

A great game with potential, but it was a let down in the end.

Dissapointingly unplayable. This game has so much potential but it's quite upsetting to see them charge so much for a game that's so empty an under-developed, even for an early access game. Controls are stiff and annoying, combat is just confusing and there generally barely anything else to do other than run round and kill people. The graphics are what stand out the most in the game, effects are vivd and beutiful and the maps look divine, it's just a shame it doesn't play as well.

Although the game is pretty empty right now (hard to find other players), this game has a lot of potential and is really fun to play.
Sword fights are interresting and requier skills, and magics bring different fighting styles, from the stealthy invisible ninja that tries to stab you from behind to the tanky knight with a shockwave spell.
A few bugs need correction, but the game is defenitly playable and I hope it will get even better.
The big problem right now is that all servers are empty and it's quiet difficult to find other players to fight against, but you can still have fun in survival mode against the bots.
Most of us are just waiting for the game to be finished.

To the developers:
Please keep the work going, your game is fun and I'd really like to see it finished with a big community.

Early Access-Review
Although I haven't played too much of this game, I would recommend it to anybody looking for a competitive game with a skill-based melee system!


They've fixed character customization and the menus since I played, but the gameplay is still pretty similar to this video.

First of all, buy this game and give these developers your money.

Here's why (for those of you who know how to read). Giving them your money will help this team improve. This game is the best and worst game I have ever played. It plays sort of like Dark Souls series, with combat, they could drastically improve the combat system for more fluid movements and better mobility. The idea of this game is what every hardcore RPG player will want in a game, an online, combat oriented, PVP masterpiece. But that's just the idea. The game has many flaws that will only be fixed by overcoming financial barriers.

For those Dark Souls series lovers, remember Dark Souls started as Demon Soul's (which nobody I know personally played before falling in love with Dark Souls other than myself). I strongly suggest this crowd to support this game, and to see where a series like this could go.

Pros:
-Awesome Character Loadout Screens
-The Idea of a PVP combat Oriented Hardcore RPG
-The Gameplay is fun even if it's not as good as it could be.
-PVP System
-It's not even finished yet

Cons:
-It's Not Finished
-Slow Updates
-Very Slow, Un-Fluid (for lack of a better term) Movements.
- Graphics could be smoother in most instances.

Das Spiel ist nicht empfehlenswert!
Es ist noch viel zu unvollständig und verbugt. Die Entwickler hätten lieber noch warten sollen mit dem Release.
Der Spielflus fühlt sich auch unsauber an und die Engine scheint nicht geeignet zu sein. Es ist klar Erkennbar das die Entwickler das UDK (Unreal-Development-Kit) verwenden und noch nichtmal das Symbol in der Taskleiste haben sie geändert. Im allgemeinen hat man das Gefühl das ganz viele Details nicht beachtet worden sind oder die Entwickler sich keine rechte Mühe geben.
Es ist jetzt fast ein Jahr her das ich es gekauft habe und es gab lediglich ein Update welches nur wenig neuen Content hinzugefügt hat und so gut wie keine der zahlreich vorhandenen Bugs behoben hat. Soweit ich es ermessen konnte nach einem kurzen Blick in das Spiel ist es sowieso Tot weil niemand mehr auf den Servern zu sein scheint.
Man muss bedenken das es immer noch Early Access ist aber das schlechte Spiegefühl, die langsame entwicklung und die Tatsache das man es nicht spielen kann aufgrund fehlender Spieler sind für mich ausschlaggebend genug hier dieses Review zu schreiben um eventuelle Käufer vorzuwarnen. Wartet ab bis sich eindeutig etwas tut oder kauft stattdessen lieber z.B. War of the Roses. Im Prinzip dasselbe Kampfsystem nur besser umgesetzt.

Ein Klasse Spiel!

Das Kampfsystem ist leicht verständlich und gleichzeitig noch kompliziert genug, sodass ein Zweikampf nicht langweilig wird und immer wieder von neuem fordert!
Die Kombinationsmöglichkeiten von Zaubern und Schwertern erlauben einen eigenen Spielstiel und das taktische Gameplay ist nicht zu verachten!

Wenn auch noch einige kleinere Bugs den Spielfluss gelegentlich stören, so finde ich es bereits jetzt sehr spannend und unterhaltsam!

Das Spiel steckt zurzeit noch in seinen Kinderschuhen, desshalb gibt es sicherlich auch viel was man noch bemängeln kann, aber das Spiel hat Potenzial und wird sich sicherlich schnell entwickeln!
Wer also im Moment unzufrieden mit dem Spiel oder einigen reviews ist und es sich desshalb nicht kaufen möchte sollte es zumindest im Hinterkopf behalten!
Alle anderen die noch zögern ob sie es kaufen sollen kann ich nur sagen, dass die 12€ sicher keine Verschwendung sind!
Wenn man einige kleine Bugs verkraften kann und Spaß daran hat seine Feinde mit übergroßen Schwertern, rafinierten Zaubern und taktischen Manövern zu zerteilen, verbrennen und auszutricksen so ist KingdomRise bereits jetzt in dieser frühen Entwicklungsphase ein Spaß der einen Stundenlang fesseln kann!

Irgendwie macht das Game sauviel fun und durch Wintersale für 9,37€ gekauft, dafür hat es sich mehr als gelohnt. Man merkt zwar das es Early Access ist dadurch das Tooltipps fehlen aber wenn man Games wie Chivalry mag sollte man dieses Game im Auge behalten :D

Sehr gutes Spiel. Mal etwas ganz anderes.
Spielprinzip ist gut und die Balance ebenfalls.

Man merkt aufjedenfall das es noch in der Alpha ist, da einiges noch nicht so klappt wie es sollte.

Aber für ein Early Acces Spiel zu empfehlen!

Dafür das es in der Beta läuft poder sogar erst Alpha bringt es echt ne menge spaß auch wenn noch nicht soviel verfügbar ist
meiner meinung nach Lohnt sich das spiel für den Preis allemal!

Eine wirklich gute Spielidee, die echtes Potenzial zeigt. In der Early Access Version gibt es noch einiges zu bemängeln doch wenn die Entwickler das Spiel weiter so gut weiterentwickeln kommt dieses Spiel an Chivalry von den Torn Banner Studios locker heran.

Dank Unreal Engine 3 auch sehr viel fürs Auge auch wenn man natürlich entsprechende Hardware braucht.

Hoffe das die Endversion ein gelungener Titel wird und die Wünsche der Community mit Liebe zum Detail umgesetzt werden.
