Available Now: Time Capsules and Game Update 63!

As you may have heard, Booster Gold has been filling up Time Capsules with lots of useful and exciting items to send through the Multiverse to you! These have now begun appearing in game with Game Update 63. But how do you find them? How can you open them? What’s waiting for you when you do? Let’s take a few minutes to prepare for their arrival and find out…

Time Capsules can be obtained through regular gameplay. You don’t need to do anything special in order to get these. As you’re playing the game as you normally would, you will eventually find a capsule waiting for you when you defeat an enemy.

To open a capsule, you’ll need a Stabilizer. There are two ways to obtain a stabilizer: purchasing one from the Marketplace for 100 Daybreak Cash (PC) or Marketplace Cash (Console), or putting one together through gameplay.

When you purchase a whole Stabilizer from the Marketplace, you can use it right away to open your capsule.

In game, you’ll need to find Stabilizer Fragments. You can use these fragments to piece together a full stabilizer, which can open a capsule. Stabilizer Fragments can currently be earned in-game in the new Duo Event, “Suicide Squad Training.” Head to Belle Reve to fight against guards, and possibly come face-to-face with a member of the Suicide Squad! You can find this in your On Duty menu under the “Events” tab.

Suicide Squad Training can be completed once per account per day. Free players will receive 3 Stabilizer Fragments per event, Premium players will receive 4 Stabilizer Fragments per event, and Members will receive 6 Stabilizer Fragments per event. It will take 15 Stabilizer Fragments to build a complete Stabilizer. Stabilizer Fragments and Stabilizers are special types of currency that are shared by all characters on your account.

Once you use a stabilizer to open a capsule, you’ll see what sort of goodies Booster Gold has sent to you!

Each capsule is tradable and once opened will include a variety of useful, mostly tradable, items. Some of these items will be included inside a separate capsule or box inside the Time Capsule. These contain styles, auras, collections, and gear, including:

Future Crusader’s Gear

Get one of these boxes in your Time Capsules and you’ll find it contains Future Batman-inspired gear that is level-appropriate to your character. There are different boxes for different item types, including Head, Shoulders, Back, Chest, Waist, Hands, Legs, or Boots.

These boxes are tradable until they’re consumed; then, since the gear becomes attuned to your current character’s role and level, they will be locked to that character.

Lantern Corps Emblems

Show your support of the Lantern Corps with these new Emblems! There is an emblem available for every Corps:

  • Black Lantern Corps
  • White Lantern Corps
  • Orange Lantern Corps
  • Red Lantern Corps
  • Blue Lantern Corps
  • Green Lantern Corps
  • Indigo Tribe
  • Sinestro Corps
  • Star Sapphire Corps

In addition to adding flair to your in-game appearance, each Emblem grants a feat, as does collecting them all!

Misted Auras

When you collect certain items from the capsules, they will go towards completing a collection that rewards you with a misted aura – Green, Amber, or Red!

Think any of your Lantern Corps-inspired characters could use one of these?

New stat/ability mods, Exobytes, R&D materials, other styles, and additional helpful items will also be found in the capsules. To hear additional information about these new Time Capsules, and to see some of the style items in action, rewatch this livestream replay from July 2016:

Time Capsules are now available with the launch of Game Update 63! Stay tuned to the official forums and DCUO Social Channels (Twitter, Facebook) for more information!

I've played this game for years on ps3 and ps4 and recently decided to start playing again. To be honest, while it isn't a bad game it can feel grindy like any MMO, so i strongly suggest playing this game with friends or else your experience might suck due to the fact that Matchmaking isn't skill based, and friends usually make most things enjoyable.

TLDR; Good game, great customization options, grindy as hell like any MMO, Don't buy DLC but do legendery if you can afford it, and the game really doesn't start until level 30, and find friends

Combat is fun, you use your weapon combos mostly BUT, you focus on your powers if you know how to manage a mana bar
-Lots of customizable options, make your hero/villain look as badass or as goofy as you want
-While you can't play as your favorite iconics in the open world, you can make them look close, or better
-Easy to get into
-Story is well written and voice acting is on point.
-Seasonal events, Instances and raids to keep you busy
-You can play as your favorite heroes and villains** but only in a few "Instances" and pvp

-On top of grinding missions, you have to grind for skill points too which you use for your weapon combos and passive stat upgrades
- On top of this, if you're in the higher level raids and instances, it's pretty much expected for you to have a good number of skill points which can lead to being kicked. This can be avoided if you get a good League (guild) or just play with friends
-Paying can be annoying as hell if you haven't played MMOs like WoW, even then the free to play aspect of this game sucks except as an introductory stage since the game doesn't really start untill level 30 .
-It's around 15$ usd a month for Legendary which gives you access to all DLC, your money isn't limited (the most you can have with a free to play is 1,500. For comparison, there are items in the marketplace that go for millions of in game cash), more inventory and bank spaces
- In my opinion, do not buy the dlcs for this game Getting the DLC only gives you access to that specific content and Premium membership, while legendary gives you what I stated before as well as a certain in game currency the game gives you every month, that you can use for cosmetics and such.

This Game is amazing
The Combat is smooth
The customization is crazy good
All kinds of things to do to keep you busy
And alot of great content and features ahead

Those who are saying this game is pay to win ITS NOT
There is not a single thing in the cashshop that would give you an advantage you have to work for everything

All of the early content is free you cant expect to not give anything back for future content

A lot of people complain about the game being pay to win. It really isn't, you can't buy op gear or anything the most you can get is new powers which come from expansions. No different than WoW and its trial version. You can get to the end game with the vanilla version but if you want to expand on the world with new areas and new powers or weapon types you buy an expansion. I recommend if you understand how most MMOs work, and realize they are ever growing with expansions regularly added.

Being part of the DC Universe at one of its best.

Sure it can get a bit repetitive but the strive to be the best and achieve higher ranks can drive you.

If your looking for a review on this game you've come to the wrong place, but if your looking for an outstanding lemon bars recipe you've come to the right place.

1) 2 cups Flour
2) 1/2 cup Sugar
3) 1/4 teaspoon Salt
4) 2 sticks (1 Cup) Salted Butter, Cut Into Small Cubes
5) Filling
6) 1-1/2 cup Sugar
7) 1/4 cup Flour
8) 4 whole Large Eggs
9) Zest And Juice Of 4 Medium-sized Lemons
10) Powdered Sugar, For Sifting

1. For the crust: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9-by-13-inch pan with butter.

2. Stir together the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the butter to the bowl and use a pastry cutter to cut it all together until the mixture resembles fine crumbs. Press into the prepared pan and bake until golden around the edges, about 20 minutes.

3. For the filling: Stir together the sugar and flour. Crack in the eggs and whisk to combine. Add the lemon zest and juice and mix until combined. Pour over the crust and bake about 20 minutes.

4. Allow to cool in the fridge for a minimum of 2 hours, then sift powdered sugar over the top before cutting into squares.

(Use an 8 x 10 pan if you'd like the layers to be a little thicker.)

You're supposed to be a superhero with great powers. but instead your a dude in spandex suit with almost no power with no special defenses and crappy powers. Worst, you spend most of your time fighting with a weapon instead of using your powers.

Did I ention the game is DLC based?

It has a nice big world, but also classic, boring, slow mmo action, along with some bad P2W features ensuring you have even less fun as a free player

Ya know, I really really want to like this game. I really do. I don't mind the fact that you can't be the official super hero but can only make a character based off the super hero you admire. That makes sense or else you'd see like 900 batmans running around and a handful of Flashes.

The problem stems from a handful of things. The first of course is the play to win aspect. It's pretty rampant. I understand that they need to make money somehow, but it's pretty over the top in this game. Secondly if you don't create a character that has flying as it's mode of transport (You can choose super speed, flying, jumping extreme distances, etc.) then you're pretty much walking at a snails pace. Last but not least is just how amazingly repetitive this game is. Every mission, every quest, every objective is essentially exactly the same. Kill x amount of this badguy. Defend objective x until the timer runs out, kill henchmen until the badguy arrives to take a package.

Now don't get me wrong there is a lot that is good about this game. It's pretty, the character creation is really fun, and the costumes you can unlock are pretty cool. But overall I have to admit that as much as I wanted to like this game it just falls flat. It gets right to the finish line and just sits down and refuses to go any furthere........Unless you have $14.99+$14.99+$9.99+$5.99.....

This game is a hideous failure. wait... no trolling. my reasons are:
1. This game was originally made by SONY with DC's permission.
2. They had the best artists and code writters on their team.

yet, cryptic studio's Champions online is far supperior?
More customization options, more costume peices, the ability to use more than three colors...
More PvE content, and yes... SOLO PLAY.
Hell, I will go so far as to say "City of Heroes" was better than this mess.

I just wish I could get these superhero games mashed together to have millions of costume peices, powers, and special effects. I wish someone would make a superhero game where I can CREATE MY OWN heroes with my own power ideas and so on. In short a superhero game that would be worth a damn...

The game is not good.
Now, having said that, I will say this as well.
The game's combat system is good, if not intuitive or easy to master at all.
For the hour+ you can spend on character building, not a lot of your customization comes through into gameplay.
Pay no mind to my time spent playing, as I put in over 200 hrs outside of steam.
Overall, being free to play, if you want to try it out, go for it. It's free. But you probably wont love it.
