About This Game

Your car is your avatar - fine tune your ride as you level up and progress through 5 unique and richly detailed regions of a massive open-world US. Maneuver through the bustling streets of New York City and Los Angeles, cruise down sunny Miami Beach or trek through the breathtaking plateaus of Monument Valley. Each locale comes with its own set of surprises and driving challenges to master. On your journey you will encounter other players on the road – all potentially worthy companions to crew up with, or future rivals to compete against. This is driving at its most exciting, varied and open.

NEVER DRIVE ALONE
Jump in and out seamlessly and build your crew of four through bonding or intense rivalry. Whether your objective is to take down a convoy or to escape the police, achieving it with friends ensures a fresh experience each time you join in.

A PLAYGROUND OF UNPRECEDENTED SCOPE AND VARIETY
The entire United States is your driving playground – all roads and everything in between. Every type of terrain imaginable is yours to master – from downtown city streets to suburbs, hillsides, cornfields, canyons, desert dunes or even race tracks.

PREPARE YOUR CAR FOR THE NEXT CHALLENGE
Collect body and performance parts as you progress to customize and upgrade your licensed cars. Equip your ride with 5 different tuning specs (street, perf, dirt, raid, circuit) to adapt to different driving terrains. Choose from a wide range of perks to enhance your vehicle according to your driving style.

THE EXPERIENCE GOES ON, WHEREVER YOU ARE
Continue the experience on iOS, Android tablets, and on the web. Track of your friends’ performance and fine tune your ride before taking it live to set new records, or send your crew on jobs while on-the-go to earn more XP and parts.

I have bought this game a long time ago since it was released. It worked fine for me before Wild Run happened to exist. I really want to gat back to playing this game, and, YES, I know Calling All Units is coming out, but do I really need Wild Run at least in order to play this game again? If yes, BULL$HIT! Sounds more like a rip off to me. Oh, and Wild Run should of been an update to the game, not a DLC! Well done Ubishit!

One of the most underrated racing games I've played. So much content that doesn't require real money to unlock and an online system that actually makes the game more fun. The cars are amazing, the graphics are good, and the gameplay is fun. The map is gigantic. My only complaint would be that I think the game would be better if the map was smaller and consisted for more winding roads like what you see when you hit the mountain areas. The map is really huge, but because of its size, a lot of the roads are straight and boring. I also wish the performance upgrading was more in dept instead of just having your car stats upgraded when completing races and challenges. I'd like it if I could pick my own exhaust, turbos, and other parts by brand and each having its own pros and cons in terms of how it effects your cars performance.

I give it an 8/10.

I bought this game on sale expecting it to be similar to Test Drive Unlimited 2. The open world is indeed interesting, but all the other elements didn't impress me at all. The story was generic and I found myself bored in no time. All the cars handled very similarly. Didn't like the multiplayer either. Last time I've played this game I've searched for a PvP lobby for about 5 minutes and then I was presented with 3 other players all of which had upgraded cars and I've had no chance to win at all. No wonder Ubisoft are giving the game away for free for the whole month right now, the community is almost dead. I wouldn't recommend to buy this game, get it for free while you can if you want to check it out.

You have to buy the Wild Run in order to unlock the Drag racing Spec which is needed for Long Jumps skills. Therefore you cannot 100% with only the base game.

Pathetic.

If you haven't bought the game yet, STOP
Ubisoft is giving out for free (1 month period) to claim permanent starting Sept 14 2016

"I actually managed to buy DLC through Steam even though I got the game for free through Uplay. Just download the Crew's demo on steam, launch it (may have to verify game cache and/or copy game files from uplay to steam's library), and you'll be able to go through the Uplay UI and buy it through Steam. Downside is that you have to use money already in your wallet, so if your wallet's empty and you want a $2 car, you'll have to add $5 to your Steam account first."

Pros
- Intersting story, lots of challenges, PvP, great graphic, huge map for touring

Cons
- Not all cars are available to buy, physics sometimes screw up (if u go too fast and slightly touch any bumps u can fly away)

Summary: Good game 8/10 I'd recommend waiting for a small sale at least before purchasing.

Pros:
+ Giant open world
+ Fully Voiced and Subtitled story (40 Hrs for me)
+ Multitude of different game modes
+ Good Graphics (for not much Processing Power)
+ Month long "Summit" events from the WildRun DLC that end in free cars being given out (Mazda MX-5 Miata At the time of this review)
+ Multiple Specs/Classes of cars (6 Vanilla; 9 Wildrun)
+ Fairly Detailed Customization (Bumpers, Hoods, Rims, Paint, etc.)
+ Rewards for exploration (ie. Hidden Cars)
+ Nice Community
+ Multiple real world race tracks of different styles and uses
+ Good Controller compatability and Rebindable keys

Cons:
- Most of the map is vacant forest area which is hard to cross at any speed
- Off the Specs/Classes of cars that you are given a few of them you can't change anything on your car except paint, rims, and interior colors
- Some of the game modes can get very repetative and the game might start to feel like a grind at times
- The Story is a little short in my opinion for the size of the game especially the map
- PvP can be very difficult for players who don't have higher leveled cars/bikes
- The Physics is not very good (ie. if you see a rock, Avoid it. You will be sent flying or crash no matter what car you're driving.)
- Bikes are very difficult to control with just a keyboard
- The AI in this game is not very smart and can be very stupid at times (for example the longer the police chase you the easier they are to lose no matter the wanted level; or if there is a very obvious shortcut the AI will just go the normal way; or even if you get close to a pedestrian they wil jump away even if you aren't moving, they also repeat the same dialog options)
- Microtransactions (Need I say more?)
- Only the lower 48 US states (No Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, or Mexico)
- Some major cities have been completely forgoten about (ie. San Diego, Phoenix, Portland, etc.)
- No Realism in terms of Physics
- Lots of Complaints of unreliability and glitches

Conclusion:
Would I recommed this game? Yes. Why? Because it is a unique game with some querks and drawbacks but overall if you are at all into racing games I would recommend picking it up especially if it's on sale.

Verdict:
8/10

Pros:

Stunning Graphics.
Huge world to explore.
There are several types of cars to choose from.
Customizations are good.

Cons:

Slow progression.
Awful story, which does not really revolve around having a close crew, or cars themselves. It is a stupid revenge story with terrible dialogue.
Pvp is not even balanced. all car tiers are allowed. there is no way to race friends equally.
Frustrating AI.
Ridiculous physics.
Online functions are shallow. It does not feel important at all. They are repeated over and over again.
Cars do not feel that different.
Pointless radio towers.
Police are on all sorts of drugs and cant catch ♥♥♥♥.

And mainly the game focuses more on stupid arcarde missions like collecting packages or smashing cars, which are repeated over and over again in the story mode. You spend more time doing stupid side missions that are repetitive.Instead of racing.

THE GAME HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH A CREW

INTRODUCTION

The Crew, a game made by Ivory Tower which are former Test Drive developers, Test Drive was a good game loved by many so everyone had alot of high expectations for The Crew (very high expectations) which is why some people were disappointed, for over-hyping this.

That doesn't mean The Crew is bad though, it's an open world (very open world with no invisible walls, except a huge wall beside Mexico) racing game, it has a story , official cars with a wide variety, replayability, but you may ask "Isn't it once you finish The Crew it's done?" yes it does, BUT , you can buy very low level cars and feel like it's a new run again.

CARS
I think we all had huge hopes for good cars, Ivory Tower didn't fail us...
The game has around 40-130 cars (I couldn't find an exact number, these are the lowest and highest numbers of cars people told me about) , It has a huge variety of manufacturers going from Spyker to Lamborghini to Fiat ect.
It's got all the cars we love, all the popular and even forgotten car manufactureres.
You get "Specs" which are modifications for your vehicles, the specs are: Fullstock, Street , Dirt , Performance , Raid , Circuit. With DLC: Drift , Monster truck , Drag , Cops.

STORY
Nothing special, it's a racing game it doesn't require an in-depth story but we got one, without it the game would be a little odd but luckly we got one.
You and your brother belong to the street racing network 5-10, it's illegal but popular, you and your bro go to meet the top dog, he kills your brother but you were accused of it as the cop leader was bribed with ALOT of money, you were sent to jail for about 5 years until you're partnered undercover with the cops, climbing the ladder to the top, going through leaders of spec vehicles , making them your friends until eventually, you're on the top with the killer, you confront him in a club, about to shoot him but you're smart enough not to, you do one last race with him, defeat him and he disappears, the cop leader gets jailed and you live happily ever after.

OPEN WORLD
The world is completely open, no invisible walls, nothing.
You see a cliff in the playable area, you can go to it, the world is detailed and intresting , with sadly few easter eggs but fun ones, the world has some real race tracks and cities, the world is huge and it would take some time following 1 specific road from one end of the map to the other.

GRAPHICS
They're nice, especially in photo mode (check my profile for some screenshots), but they're pretty demanding, on my overclocked GTX 950 2gb vram I can run with SSAO+ , FXAA and mostly high settings at 60fps mostly at all times.
Photo mode is beautiful, fell in love with it.

PHYSICS
They're weird, your car is stuck to the ground which is sadly annoying (can't go crazy with cliffs) but for overall driving feels good, you can play on "normal, sport , hardcore" modes which enable tc, disable tc ect.
Drifting feels good, racing at high speeds does, collision is choppy but can deal with it.

This is one of the best open world driving games that i've played in a long time. It has got massive amounts of free updates over the time scince it been releasced. I enjoy the story that it has and the replay velue or the free roam part of the game is amazing. I highly recomend this game to anyone that is looking for an online driving game for the price that it's at, however if you do buy it you will relise some parts of the game is not available unless you have the Wild Run DLC.
