Let me first start of by saying this DLC DOES work! Not sure why so many guys seem to have problems with it. Works fine for me.

Now back to rating the DLC :D

The Route is beautiful. I can't say if it looks like the real route since i never been to the Isle of Wight but it looks pretty good to me. It comes with several scenarios aswell as a Class 483 Tube Train and 0-4-0ST Steam Loco. I love the fact that they use an old London Underground Tube Train :D Both Locos look nice and are easy to drive.

It is a fun little cosy route and well worth the 11 Bucks i paid for it durring the Sale

Following a recent patch (23rd Feb, 2015), various fixes and improvements have been made to this add-on. Not only do all previously broken scenarios now work but aesthetic improvements have been made (no floating objects, rain effects on the 483's windows) and even new Southern Railway semaphore signals have been added to replace the default Kuju ones!

As the route itself is fairly short and the assets can seem dated compared to more recent routes, £19.99 might seem a little steep to some. Personally I think the ubiqueness of the line and variety of rolling stock makes it worth it, even at full price. But in sales this can drop significantly and is definitely worth the purchase, especially as some older third party routes require the assets.

This route is very nicely done and comes with lots of senarios. the tube stock is a bit basic but that means it not too hard to use meaning its a good train for a begginer like me, The interior of the tube is nice apart from the man that looks like a cardboard cutout. the steam engine is very good its not to hard to use like other bigger steam engines. the senarios are very good and you won't run out of them like newer route dlc's. I recomend this dlc to begginers.

A perfect route for beginners in train simulator where you get to operate all three systems of railroading: steam electric and diesel. There a good amount of lines that are in the same "beginner's" category (in my opinion).

Firstly, this route DOES work, and it works VERY nicely!

Performs well due to it's small size.
The isle of wight was one of the included routes with TS2013, and I very much loved that route, and I am very glad I got it again. THe route is short, but seems longer due to the nice scenery, nice gradients, and a decent speed. Included are two types of trains, and the speeder. As a bonus, you get the steam branchline!

Yes, buy this route, for the price, why not?

Back in the mystical days of Rail Simulator, RSDL developed this gem, the Isle of Wight.
This route is an absolute classic, it is soaked in value. It's beautifully detailed and it represents the glory days of Train Simulation. You get 3 different trains, the Electric Class 483, the War time Steam Shunter Class 0-4-0ST "Invincible" and finally, the Diesel Personnel Carrier.

From my personal experience, the route is nearly identical to its real life counterpart, aside from some minor details. However, the same cannot be said for the trains. This is where I critique the game.

Although this addon is one of the best examples of value and accuracy for this game, it has a few flaws.
The sounds are the main problem, it sounds nothing like an ancient electric train from 1938, it sounds more like if somebody just make some noises with his mouth and call it a day. However, they have made some improvements, back in February, they had an update, it wasn't very worthwhile, considering it broke all pre-update reskins... however, the one improvement they did right was the sound, although it sounds pretty much identical, they at least added details to the sound that weren't in the previous update. Secondly, the physics is okay I suppose, however the physics passenger view resembles more of a monorail running on a perfectly straight rail than a bumpy, old, pre-WWII ex-underground train that we all know and love.

At last, we made it out of the criticism section without being stoned to death by fanboys, moving on...

In conclusion, buy this if you want value, buy this is you want realism and buy this is if you want to experience the glory days of this game, I cannot recommend it enough, it is 5 pounds less than the sub-standard rubbish they release these days. It is 20% cheaper, yet 200% better.

This route is very beautiful. While it is beautiful, the electric locomotives are not very nicely detailed and in some parts of the route, the scenery does not look very realistic. With that said though, overall the route is still very nice and worth the money (when on sale, especially in the Summer Collection).

A varied route, with wonderful textures but frankly space age physics.

+ You get the old London Underground stock ( The class 482)
+ you get the WHOLE island in the route
+ You get a steam railway in this route aswell
+ Quite a good distance between stops!

I completed the run in just half an hour, and there are a few faults. The 408's sounds aren't there. Apart from that it's very good. Despite being only 13 miles in total, it's worth it for the cheap as chips price. The lineside scenery is stunning and the route is enjoyable-while it lasts. There's the right train, the good scenery, a slight sound problem and interior view, and brilliant for expansion and begginers.
Trains: 8/10
Scenery: 10/10
Stations: 10/10
Sounds: 6/10
Route: 10/10

I love this route. It looks amazingly beautifull with alot of scenarios and three trains. I couldnt really find any bugs in it so far and the class 466 is probably one of my favorites in trainsimulator even though its cab doesnt look that good, it can speed up very fast and has pretty strong brakes. The only thing which I could say is hard about this game is that some platforms are too short and are hard to stop at.Otherwise, 10/10

This is one of the Railworks gems, seriously, Dovetail should make a collection package to buy including all of them. To the high speed, long-haul driver the 8 mile island line may seem feeble compared to London-Peterbourough and the WCML North, but in the Class 483 (which is a pleasure to drive) a round trip of the line can take from 45 min to an hour. Also included is the IOWSR (Isle of Wight Steam Railway), including the steam enigine "Invincible", carriages, and some S R wagons with the line branching off at Smallbrook Junction, passing the request stop at Ashey, past the sheds and storage at Havenstreet, and up to Wotton. It is a 20 min drive from Wotton to Smallbrook and a great one with scenery worthy of the price tag, especially during sales. Pika

This addon dlc is great, the scenery is very nice although slightly outdated but does not affect the gameplay unless you focus. The trains included are of overall high quality although the interior views could be made better. The trains overall have the apropriate look to them, not extremely modern which matches with what should be present in such dlc. The route although being of modest length has enough features to engage the player to enjoy the experience. In addition to this, trains are limited on how fast they can go severely and although this can be annoying at times the route adds enough player interaction to suppress the overall feeling of this. Overall the DlC is a very nice addon and in my opinion the trains included are quite nice.
