It's not a very in depth game, lacking much of a story and is repetitive when making multiple characters. That being said, this game makes up for it in it's simplicity of diverse skill trees and plethora of combos, especially if you just want to play a game every once in a while to fight on random monsters, find some items, make a party, or just kill time. It's not ground-breaking in this day and age, but for a free game in it's genre, it's definitely worth a play or two.

I honestly like this game, though, due to too much repitition I stopped playing for a while. Here are some pros and Cons that i found out while playing the game:

-Large selection of characters to choose from, most with different weapons and specialties
-Nice art, and OK graphics
-Large amount of customization available for each character
-Many events and things that can get you free things, too avoid using real-life money

-In order to upgrade or boost character stats, you really need to use real life money
-There is a bit of lag, when doing dungeons or PVP, which gets frustrating, and makes youre character loose connection or makes it hard to play it
-Opening the game takes a while, (for me at least) and gliches out saying, "cannot match version" (or something similar)
-Some characters are way to over powered, and they can spam so much, that you really cant get away, so you just loose all the time (namely add, rose, and ara)
-The "stamina" bar in the bottom right corner is...ugh...It gets annoying when you're trying to waste your life playing an online game, but can't because the character you're playing as has run out of stamina, so you have to wait a day for it to fill completely.
-The dungeons are so repetitive, it hurts. Each one is the same, but with more stages and harder monsters. No real difference between them. (Plus the quests make you do each one about 3 times, maybe more)

But i can't really say anything because i do like this game...It's addictive

You cant really pay to win in this game. Costume give you extra socket slot but the stat overal (even with sage magic stone) still only give you same (even less if its not IB cos) as the stat the promotion set you were given at first. Skil slot B can be bought on the board, the price isnt too high, sometime event give you some valuable goods you can sell them for in-game money and you will be able to buy skill slot B in no time. If any people tell you costume set and skill slot B really make p[eople different, they just being salty. There are gears but you have to farm for them, not worth to complain. But its true that you CAN pay to win if you have like 2000bucks to spend on enhence your weapon to +12 and you will be so OP that no one (even you) last over 10 hits of yours, unless they (or you) pick a tanky class (such as Iron Paladin) then you may last for 20 hits. But who would spend 2000 real life cash to be OP in an MMO anyway *staring at certain people*

~~ My Review ~~

Hello, I have started playing this game since 2014 and this is my opinion and review of this game. I know a lot of people won't bother to read lengthy text so I will just put the information in point form.

+ Wide variety of character to choose from with each of them having their own unique skills

+ Great soundtrack from different stages and towns

+ Simple to use marketplace without the need of using real cash to open up a shop

+ A lot of the event is suprisingly great. It another way of making income in a quick way

+ The number of customization you can apply to your character is massive

+ Colorful artstyle and appealing graphics

- Pay 2 Win. You need to use real cash to upgrade your skills and inventory slots. However, you able to purchase it with in-game money. That if you are rich

- PvP is extremely unbalanced with certain characters able to dominate a wide number of character/class due to cheap skills and overpowered attack

- Repetitive and grindy gameplay. Some of the crafting items requirement is really rediculous which could take you a week or more.

- Stamina system !!! Seriously, that crap features belong to a mobile games not a MMORPG games. I understand that it used to prevent players from playing the game too long but that doesn't mean you should limit the amount of time they spend playing on the game.

- Resurrection system is horrible in my opinion. You cannot respawn within the same area you last die unless you spent real cash to buy more resurrection items. Another way is through event but it depends on what event they will put into the game.

- A character named Rose make many of the character felt obsolete especially Chung since it is a much more superior class than the other one

- Toxic community though this is just as expected when playing a MMO game

- With each update, the game is getting more worse especially the inclusion of additional stats and unbalanced equipment

- Unstable servers that kicked you out of the game even with strong internet connections. Seriously KOG, fix your servers @_@

Final Verdict
Sadly, I can't recommend you guys to play it. Sure the gameplay is quite fun but with each update Elsword is progressively getting worse and the developer is hunger for more money than actually caring more about the player.

I missed the old Elsword where everything is straightforward and simple. I started to quit and stopped spending on this game already. Greedy developer like KOG simply doesn't deserve my money. You want to bring back players ? Fix what is broken first otherwise more and more player start leaving.

At least Korean Elsword is much more fairer to player and still going strong to this day.

R.I.P North America Elsword = 2011-2014

Final Score
Old Elsword - 8.5/10
New Elsword - 4/10

As you all may know, this game is the fine definition of P2W, and the worse type of P2W. The f*cking store in the game has cosmetics that dramatically increase your stats... but to be totally honest, this game is actually really fun, but with major flaws. If the cosmetics in this game had no stats and you can actually get the full skill slots without paying $9, it would be much better. The classes are also really unbalanced and the pvp is broken as a direct impact. If they can fix this and maybe put like a price tag on this game, like maybe $20 for the full experience, it would literally be perfect.

*As a side note, most people that I talk to about this game, they say they don't like it because of it's extreme P2W style of F2P, so fix your sh*t KOG*

Used to be a fun game until the community went down hill. Consumers arent having fun then before, barely any new contents, literaly went from entertainement to marketing, items are over priced, pvp is 100% P2W if you're not willing to spend money to this game, dont play PvP. The only thing i enjoyed about this is the PvE and the new Hero mode, that's the only reason im playing this game. Basically new update in this game means new items in the item mall, 8$ per piece, prices doubled if you want a permanent costume PART. The ice burners are the only thing feeding the developpers with *profit*. New costumes? Get it from ice burners only, you know the item which you have ♥♥♥♥ luck / RNG even after spending 800$. Even the halloween costumes are dumb, why arent the creators that won the halloween costume contest 2016 getting the costumes they made if they won? Instead give them K-Ching (in game monney currency) that allows them to buy the costumes they made instead of giving it for free sure. I had high hopes when they started to put new game modes, but its hard to enjoy them if the servers aren't stable. Instead i see players teleporting or me getting the connection interrupted message while my internet speed is good enough to run a game without lag? They DID listen to the consumers but that was only for the balance patch.

TL:DR The game is becoming worst and worst, PvP is pure P2W (Unless you do spar with a friend), new update means that you need to spend money to get the new items, game is purely focused on marketing instead of *Entertainement*, community is not friendly at all even players in game that spam *Git Gud* or *Lagger/Runner*, used to be satisfying, pve is still fun (But now they limited the grindings you need to do to get gears).

Elsword....if I had to describe the game in one word to represent the game itself and its community I would have to choose the word....SALT. I wish I could get my money back and note that I'm asking to get my money back from a FREE TO PLAY GAME. That game is a penny pincher and is way too savage for a new player that has no financial support to get a good headstart on the game. Even many of the BARE NECESSITIES of the game require paying up to obtain it's not even a matter of obtaining them through more painstaking means. It's purely impossible to get far in the game without paying up unless you spend a full year of suffering on the game and have the luck of every single god from smite. The gameplay isnt even bad but it's very VERY repetitive. The game is too grindy and doesn't pay out enough for all the effort put in. Getting on to the events of the game I find that they are good SOMETIMES but usually the events require paying up for something in the item mall to even benefit from them. The next thing is the cosmetics factor which is OVERLY emphisized in the game or rather due to the community the cosmetic value in the game drains your wallet more than actually playing it. For a free to play game elsword is the most overpriced game I've ever encountered. You could literally use the same amount of money it takes to get 1 full costume set on elsword to buy any 30 dollar game that you could want. Hell I bet most of the people that play elsword could have probably had cars and 4K TVs and a LIFE if they weren't spending it all on chibi korean pixels. The final and most nerve wracking and stressful part of the game is its pvp. MY GOD. Those are the first words that come to mind when looking at the salt seeping out of arena. Arena is already unbalanced because of elswords favoritism of female characters. Due to this things like ROSE were allowed to happen....elsword couldn't even make their OWN CHARACTER for that one. Guess they ran out of trollish ideas and yoinked one from DFO. Rose please....go back home... PvP is already unbalanced as is but by allowing people to bring in +11-12 lvl 85 4D Gear with Raid weapons you only mean to add fire to the flame. I believe that last point on pvp speaks enough for itself for any of those who read this and fight the good fight.

I really like this game (really, I do! even though I stop playing it doesn't mean I stop liking the game!). Have a good variety of characters and classes, fast-pased gameplay and really fun combo, and also pretty good story (even though some people doesn't care about the story). Back then I play this game on Indonesia Server, too bad the server went shut down and move to Elsword NA. There are 2 things that I don't like about this game:

1. Pay2Win
2. Unbalance skills

If this game have no P2W system and balance skills, I will doubt this game will be more popular and also memorable. For the community though, I really like the community. Even though there is the bad one too...

See the potential in this game and want to play a better one that is very similar? Play DFO.

DFO has the lame fatigue system, but other than that it is amazing.

Screw the fatigue/stamina systems in general though.

It was fun when the game first launched in NA, it's just not worth it anymore despite it being free. Tricks you into buying crap (Keep in mind gloves in the mall is about 5 dollars!) and the server overall is bad. Many toxic players roam along with P2W players take up the majority of it. It is a VERY Grindy, and that ruined my experience in Elsword. PvP isn't fair with lag issues, Character balances, and gear advantage. Dungeoning is very boring, some of them are fun, but it's just very dull grinding the same dungeons over and over again only to get very little reward. Elsword will swallow your money, and make you feel like a total piece of crap. I'm an old player and I spent probably over 200 dollars onto this game, and it wasn't worth it AT ALL. I have nothing really positive to say other than making a couple of close friends, and the older character designs. It was much more balanced before, however with more patches buffing characters it's far too strong for unexperienced player who have never played the game from the start. KOG's new "balances" and "patches" is just lazy game design, and also very unhealthy. Pay to win with very little strategy to use unless you have had spent COUNTLESS hours practicing and perfecting one combo, only to have it crushed by a pay to win player. Who can practically almost kill you in one combo. Sure they kinda have good events, but it's not fair when everyone gets a free 60 levels..

I loved this game when I was younger and I thought it would get better, but it was ruined by KOG's greed.

Just don't
