Five Tips on long-range Infantry

An Infantry has a wide arsenal of weapons available, but which weapons are best used for longer ranges? Read more on Five Tips for Long-Range Infantry.

1: Bolt-Action – slow but deadly
The Bolt-Action Rifles (K98K, M1903 & Mosin-Nagant) provide the most damage and the largest range. They do have a slow rate of fire but with the right modifications it is able to one-shot any infantry on the field who doesn’t wear the heavy set combat badge.

2: Scope the distance
Having trouble seeing that well on long distances? The Semi-Automatic and Bolt-Action rifles allow a scope to be equipped. This will surely enhance your vision so you can engage your opponents more easily at longer distances.

3: Choose the right modifications
With the right modifications the Bolt-Action rifle can have a slightly higher rate of fire and do a lot more damage. For the Bolt-Action rifle it’s best to equip 5 modifications:
  • Ammunition: The bullets with the highest possible damage
  • Sights: Either the scope or the precision modification
  • Trigger: A trigger for a little extra rate of fire
  • Internal: The Heavy Bolt for a little extra damage
  • Barrel: The Scout II Barrel with damage
This will allow your bolt-action rifle to do a lot of damage and potentially one-shot your opponents when you hit them in the chest.

4: Be prepared for close range defense
The Bolt-Action rifle is great at long range, but not as powerful at close ranges due to the slow rate of fire. With the right pouch sizes set you can equip a SMG or other types of good close range weapons with it. So you can switch between the two weapons depending on the situation.

5: Consider a career as a recon
The Recon career is the career with the most abilities on long range. Having a recon soldier means you can have better scopes and stronger modifications for your Bolt-Action rifle.

Meet the Developers – Reto.Desji

You are already devoted to the game and know every bit of it? Now we think it is time that you get to know the team a little better and this is why from now on, we will present you one of our Developers every week. With all the funny, interesting and unexpected bits about each of us.

What’s the story of the tag?
Reto.Desji, that’s five random letters that I chose as my gamertag when I was eight years old.

What is your position and what does that mean?
I am a level designer and environment artist. I design and build the maps in the game.

What was the best thing to work on so far?
I think the Village Skirmish map, this was my first map that was ever played by a wider audience, I tend to get a little bit obsessed with my projects, and seeing people enjoying my work was an incredibly rewarding experience after years of toiling away in obscurity.

What are you excited about in the future?
I want to expand the world of H&G, take the game into new settings. I believe we have only scratched the surface of the WW2 setting.

What did you do before Reto?
I came to Reto directly from Art school, where I studied digital art/animation.

What is the best thing about working at Reto?
Reto is a small team with a big vision, which means everybody’s gotta pull their weight, for me this means even as a junior developer I get to have a huge influence on the game. In the big studios I would still be scrubbing the floors and getting coffee for my corporate overlords.

What is your favourite thing about H&G?
Honestly H&G is right in my wheelhouse. I have always loved the WW2 setting, and the multiplayer shooter is my favourite genre bar none. If I wasn’t making H&G – I guess I would be playing H&G.

What are your hobbies?
I love film and traveling, I am also a mixed martial arts fighter and I play a bit of Piano.

Favourite Games/Games that inspired you to have a career in games?
Half-life 2 – a designers masterclass

What’s your favourite film
My favourite movie is The Iron Giant. I have admittedly terrible taste in most things so I won’t embarrass myself by sharing any music, books, anime or otherwise.

Random Fun Fact about you
I use my MMA hobby to mask my otherwise girly personality, it’s pretty sad…
