Update 1.3: War in the Amazon is LIVE!

Accord forces have cornered the Chosen Razorwind clan deep in the Amazon rainforest. The Razorwind clan has made its last stand at an ancient battlefield from the Crystite Wars. While they have been wounded, they won't go down without a fight. The harder we hit them, the harder they will hit us, using the next evolution of their Juggernauts and Siegebreakers, now more deadly than ever.

Your mission: wipe them out. Root them out of the tunnels that riddle the area, flush them from the swamps of the Sombrio, and hunt them in the wreckage of the UAS Horizon. Complete daily missions for the Accord to gain access to the climactic battle against Razorwind's generals.

To aid you in this fight, new archetype specific battleframe cores have been made available. These special WARCOM-developed cores grant you new abilities that will make you more lethal than you have ever been.

Gear up. This will be a battle the likes of which Firefall has never seen.

I Started playing this game waaaaaay back when beta first started. So ignore low play hours on steam.

This game has gone through some rough times, and 2 major and complete overhauls since they first invited people to beta. They started pretty weak... then turned it into something amazing, but far from complete. Then a bunch of whiny babies complained about it and thus left us with another Sub par major overhaul of the core game mechanics.

This game used to be all about exploring where ever you wanted. Thumping where ever you wanted, grinding where ever you wanted. An actuall sandbox about resource collection, crafting your own gear out of what you collect and true exploration.

Now, it's just another "grind missions here, then move on to the next map, grind missions here, then move on.
They limited you sooo much from what their 2nd core systems had. Now you have to follow their paths, do what they want you to do. Not to mention you have to grind for yer gear. Stupid RNG system with Loot rolls, really original guys...

While it is a unique game, they ruined what it could have been instead of taking a risk and sticking to the amazing game systems they had.

As many posters have illustrated before, this game has taken a turn for the worse since true release. I played back in beta where the focus was on the idea of thumping (obtaining resources) and teamplay, with open world events being common such as having areas taken over and such. There was MASSIVE potential for tech tree progression, the crafting system, and development of the storyline.

And that's where it all went wrong. Nowadays, the focus is mostly on grinding up to certain levels and then instancing to fight the same things over and over and over again. The storyline is bland and has made perhaps 5% progress since closed beta, and the balancing is horrendous. Each time they make a change to a component such as crafting, something becomes "overpowered" or easier for the community. They then proceed to nerf this, which leads to another area becoming popular. Nerfs upon nerfs upon nerfs. No real content changes, failing to understand that their new crafting is fundamentally flawed to begin with.

Combat wise they made the game too much of a mix. A focus on teamplay oriented mining, or solo adventure? How about we try to do both and fail miserably simultaneously? They are just all over the place. I could rant on and on about this game, but there is honestly just too much.

TLDR: This game had potential and now it's a grindfest. Enjoy for maybe 10 hours if you REALLY want to try a new class, or pay an insane amount of money for very little. Your choice.

I already wrote and deleted a review to this several times, so I wont give this game a long review anymore:

- It is one of the most awesome Shooters with RPG elements and open world, I ever played.
- it has a kinda interesting story
- cool weapons and abilitys
- cool classes
- very well designed open world fights and dungeons

What makes this game so bad:
- bugs
- butchering of the crafting system
- butchering of the ressource system
- bugs
- butchering of the leveling system
- totally bad made events, that will make you hate the game
- the almighty present of the item shop (you can play the game well without it, but it is just too strong)
- the community
- grafic optimiziation is simply not there
- if your ping is just a little bit too high, welcome to hell
- oh they also butchered their story as well

They should go 2 years back and start again -.-

Firefall is a good free to play, if only he had more courage in merging MMO and FPS elements that constitute the core, would have really been able to make ends meet. I refer to the social components developed only partially and AOLA lack of an open PvP adequately contextualized: the lack of factions (the Chosen playable would really manna) and dedicated servers to clan warfare on a global scale is aging considerably a title, especially as it is a true F2P that sells for real money only aesthetic elements and boost the experience, still deserves to be recommended to all for the breadth of what it has to offer and the incisiveness of some goodies like the live event and the economic system. Ultimately lacks that degree of innovation that could elevate to something truly unique.
