About This Game

"When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth."

A tribute to the highly acclaimed film series in which the above quote originated from, No More Room in Hell (PC Gamer's Mod of the Year 2011, ModDB's Editor Choice Multiplayer Mod of the Year 2011), is a co-operative realistic first person survival horror modification for the Source Engine. Taking inspiration from George Romero's "Of the Dead" series, the mod is set during a time in which the world is on the verge of collapsing into chaos from a disease whose origin is unknown. Many experts and organizations have their theories and ideas on how such a disease emerged and started to systematically destroy our very way of life, but one fact is clear to all. Whoever perishes from the disease gets up and kills, and the people they killed get up and kill.

The chances of you surviving this all out war of society and the undead are slim to none. Already, there are millions of the walking dead shambling about, searching for food to eat. There's no known cure. One bite can possibly end it all for you. However, you aren't alone in this nightmare. There are still a handful of uninfected survivors left in this god forsaken hellhole, and with co-operation and teamwork, you may live long enough to fight your way to salvation.

  • Teamwork: Co-operative play with up to eight players.
  • Voice and Text Communications Limited by Distance: The further you're away the harder it is for other players to hear you. Keep those walkie talkies close!
  • Dynamic Objective Maps: The next playthrough may not be the same as the last!
  • Survival Mode: Defend and maintain your shelter against the undead in the hopes of getting extracted to a safe area.
  • A Realistic Approach: In short, no crosshairs with limited "only when you want it" HUD. In addition, ammo and weapons are extremely scarce. With that in mind, aim down your sights and shoot for the head!
  • Multitude of Different Opponents: Ranging from the iconic "walking zombie" to the more contemporary "runners", NMRiH will keep you on your toes with a mix of dangerous foes to face down. However, the most dangerous enemy may not always be the walking dead...
  • Infection: One bite may be what it takes to bring you down. If infected, you must decide if you want to alert your team to rid you of your burden, or to keep quiet in the hopes of finding a cure...
  • 30+ weapons and counting, ranging from the diminutive .22 Target Pistol, to the almighty Chainsaw.
  • No pay to win items
  • No ads
  • 100% Free

Planned Features:

  • National Guard NPCs - Will they help you or see you as just another walker?
  • Full dismemberment - gibs for arms and legs instead of just the head
  • More gamemodes including a mode that mixes Survival with Objectives
  • New and varied zombie types - SWAT/Military zombies with body armor
  • More playable characters (including females)
  • Stat tracking along with Steam Achievements - With the possibility of unlockable items
  • More frequent updates with Steam support
  • More maps and overall content with Steam support
No More Room in Hell is a Half-Life 2 Zombification. The mod was founded in 2003. It switched hands and a new team took over in 2009. Beta version 1.0 was released on Halloween of 2011. It's sad that this little free 2 play game has put so many paid games to shame. Better support and updates than DayZ, better servers than Left4Dead, more interesting objectives than Killing Floor...it's just embarassing. Good job @Devs, you guys have a winner to put in your portfolio.

(this review took me 1-2 hours to complete. my longest one yet. if i dont get atleast 1 viewer i will be upset.)

hello everyone of steam! today i am back with a new review. this time its no more room in hell! (nmrih)

Firstly, what is this game?

the game is your average, slow-paced zombie survival game. the only difference about this game is how it has the "get bitten and shoot yourself or find a cure quickly" and "if your hit once you can bleed out then die". what i find interesting is that the game is not like day-z where you can make groups and try survive the infection, but more like codename: CURE (ill update this review when i get a review on codename: CURE) where you have a goal to do whitelist shooting zombies in the face. so i could see a little bit of tactical-ness coming out of this game. but i really could not find any.

The gameplay

the game is mainly focused on coop gameplay. you can play the game in solo, but your going to find its going to be BO3 campagin realistic mode hard (well, maybe not that hard. but still, its harder in solo then it is in coop)

The community

now, there is a big enough community to keep you company. but half the time i keep getting yelled at because im not doing what they want to do. kinda 6 year old-ish if you ask me. it sucks about the fact where unless you have friends, your going to join a game with atleast 1 person who will scream at you. i say this because of what i said about the gameplay.

the Modding community

now. when i say mods, i mean *team deathmatch* or other custom gamemodes like that. not the kind of modding community from the classic "gmod".

moving on, custom gamemodes are rare. i mean RARE. the only 2 i could find is zombie dodge ball and team deathmatch, so instead of moving on. ill go more indepth into those 2 gamemodes.

Zombie dodge ball

this custom gamemode is a pretty unique one. as i have not found any other game that has a gamemode even related to this. the way it works is there are 2 teams. i think oakdale and somthing else that i forgot. when the game starts. there are 3 places to buy somthing. along with a ton of other things that i dont even know what they do. weapons, ammo, and enemy zombie mutators. the weapons are simple. you are able to buy a weapon for a certin amount of gold. you get gold from killing zombies.(there are 2 ways to find zombies. either by opening gates (gates a basicly spawners) or waiting for the other team to kill a zombie) if you kill a zombie. a zombie will spawn on the other team. the only problem is when you get to the guns, they dont come with ammo. so thats where the ammo vendor comes in. the ammo vendors only objective is to supply you with ammo for your gun of choice. the enemy zombie mutator's objective is to make your team have a better likely-hood of winning. the way it does this is by spawning special zombies onto the enemy team's side (you can see them and they can see you). there are also a few other things other then the vendors. only a few i know. there is a panic button where if there is too many zombies on your team's side. you can smash the glass that prevents you from pushing the button when you dont want to. and it will basicly erase every zombie on your side. the only bad part about this is that the enemy team will gain gold (about) every half second. and since im pretty sure this gos on for about a minute. they gain ALOT of gold. the other downside about that is that it wipes out all the gold you have gained. so that means if you got 786 gold and you press the panic button. get ready to say good-bye to all that gold you earned. because it gets wiped out COMPLETELY. there is also a gambling machine as well. if you get the same on all 3 slots. you earn gold. (depends on what it is). another thing i wanted to talk about this is that you need to make sure you get the medkit and pills as soon as possible. they only cost 10 gold each. if you buy it in the middle of the game. chances are you have already made hardcore clutches with your team almost losing. the final thing i wanna talk about is the respawn. this button will respawn everyone who died for a cost of 10 gold each. lets jest say, your going to use this alot.

alright. now on to Team deathmatch/Deathmatch

this gamemode is basicly call of duty free-for-all. when you first spawn. you will get a pop up to the right of your screen. this is the place where you can pick what you wil fight with. after that. you will fight against other players. sadly. because of how little stuff was put into this gamemode, im not going to go any farther than what i jest said.

its run on the source engine. so the game does not have quality graphics like the games such as bff4 or bo3.

the DEFAULT gamemodes

yes. this game does have default gamemodes like almost every game in the world does.

Objective mode

(keep in mind im calling them from how they work instead of what the names are.)

this gamemode will give you objectives that you will need to complete in order to complete the level. if you die but another person complete's the objective that you were on, you will respawn and be given a new objective. if all of you die. then its game over. simple.

Horde mode

in this gamemode you need to survive about 20 waves (i think) in order to win. every now and then a supply drop will come filled with various items to help you survive. if you die but then the new round starts. you will respawn. as in objective mode. if you all die, then its game over. again, simple enough.

awesome horror-like atmosphere, great levels to play on, there are so many more i cannot think of. if your into horror-fps and zombie games. this game is for you. (oh yeah. this game has no jumpscares. so chances are you wont get a time where you will poop your pants.) oh and did i say it was free? thats right. all that content for 0 bucks! (or euros if your british.)

Pros and Cons

+ horror-like atmosphere

+ FREE!!!

+ unique gamemode

- faulty community

- SUPER RARE custom gamemodes

- repetetive after awhile

what is my rating for this game?

The game is great...
but there are always bad things to any game...

buy it if you want to waste money.
