About This Game

Brink is an immersive first-person shooter that blends single-player, co-op, and multiplayer gameplay into one seamless experience, allowing you to develop your character whether playing alone, with your friends, or against others online. You decide the combat role you want to assume in the world of Brink as you fight to save yourself and mankind’s last refuge. Brink offers a compelling mix of dynamic battlefields, extensive customization options, and an innovative control system that will keep you coming back for more.

Brink takes place on the Ark, a man-made floating city that is on the brink of all-out civil war. Originally built as an experimental, self-sufficient and 100% “green” habitat, the reported rapid rise of the Earth’s oceans has forced the Ark to become home to not only the original founders and their descendants but also to thousands of refugees. With tensions between the two groups growing, Security and Resistance forces are locked in a heated battle for control of the Ark. Which side will you choose?

KEY FEATURES:

  • Not Just Another Hero – Brink's advanced player customization offers a near-endless combination of looks for your character – allowing for the appearance of your character to be truly unique. As you progress through the game and acquire more experience, you’ll have even more opportunities for customization.
  • Two Sides to Every Story – Choose to fight through the single player campaign as either a member of the Resistance or the Security and then take your same character online to play cooperatively or competitively against other players.
  • Blurring the Lines – Take your unique character online at any time you choose! Brink allows you to seamlessly move between your single player campaign, co-op with friends, and intense multiplayer action. Multiplayer takes the story online where you can play with up to seven other people (or AI characters) cooperatively as you take on the opposing faction or with up to 16 players competitively.
  • Play SMART – Brink uses the familiar shooter controls that you’re used to, without frustrating, artificial constraints and adds a new feature: the SMART button. When you press the SMART button, the game dynamically evaluates where you’re trying to get to, and makes it happen. Whether you’re a seasoned FPS veteran or someone just getting started, you’ll be able to make more intelligent decisions during the fast-paced action with SMART.
  • Context-Sensitive Goals and Rewards - Objectives, communications, missions, and inventory selection are all dynamically generated based on your role, your condition, your location, your squad-mates, and the overall status of the battle in all gameplay modes. You’ll always know exactly where to go, what to do when you get there, and what your reward will be for success.

This game has great potential, but because it's buggy and now no one plays it, I highly doubt it'll ever be revived.

cool, but it´s like deathmatch with taking command post. it´s not like one big campaign, it´s like team fortress. 6/10.

Possibly the worst game I preordered. Overall the game is not even THAT bad but it just doesn't excel on any level.

One of the reasons i preorderd this game was because of character customisation. Although it has more customisation than most first person shooters these days, the game is just too fast to see any real difference between characters other then they're white or black, something the Unreal Tournament series always succeeded in.

Obviously, I did not buy the game just for the character customisation. I also bough the game because it should have great gameplay and there apparently was a story mode. While there is a story mode, I don't think anyone really cared about the story unlike in games like Left 4 Dead but it was a nice attempt to implant some sort of story mode. The gameplay is OK, just your typical shooter but somehow, to me it just didn't feel right for a FPS.

There are also objectives your team needs to complete in every mission, which could be great but everything is just too chaotic and you have no idea what to do.

Brink isn't a bad game but there's a reason why players stopped playing the game. You probably won't find people playing so it's you vs bots. The only way this game could get alive is if they gave it away for free.

This was the first game that helped me understand that what companies advertise in trailers and showcases is not always what they deliver. I spent $60 on the hype when this first came out, played one online match with friends... was completely let down. Uninstalled and never looked back.

Get it on sale. If you have AMD, I highly discourage you from getting this game. It won't work worth a **** if you got any of that ATI/AMD stuff going on in your computer. I reccomend playing with a friend.

Gameplay's fun, gunplay's good, story's bad, A.I's god ♥♥♥♥ing awful. It's an escort mission where you have to escort your entire bumbling team to victory.

The game was disappointing enough as a full-price retail release that required Steamworks. It delivers on none of the hype, and a lack of care permeates every aspect of its design, from the imbalanced maps and weapons to the completely uninspired unlock system and lack of features or content. To this day, the game feels unfinished and barely received support after launch. A stain on the name of the studio who brought you the Enemy Territory series, not even Bethesda wants anything to do with it, as they've apparently shut down the master server and now you can only connect directly to servers by specifying IP addresses. A true example of squandered potential and borderline lying to fans about features during its development, it's not worth your money or your time. Stay away.

The code for this game is buggy. The damn AI on single player is moronic, I almost complete the objective (no enemies for 5-10 minutes) then suddenly swarm and my supposedly friendly AI dissappears conviently. I can run Skyrim with the High Resolution Packs on High Settings and it runs fine. I run this game and my graphics card goes nuts. Only buy if on sale.
