About four months back we announced the launch of our new Insurgency game, subtitled Sandstorm. A few days ago you heard about another game – Day of Infamy – which also happens to be very close to release. We want to take this opportunity to explain where our company is in regards to its multiple game projects.

Multiplayer Game Modes:


Push --- Three territorial objectives must be captured by the attacking team in sequential order. For each objective captured, they gain more reinforcement and time to attack the next. Defenders have a finite amount of reinforcements and must use each wisely. Once the third objective is captured by the attackers, a fourth cache objective must be destroyed, while the defenders have only one life to make a last stand.

Firefight --- Three territorial objectives, one for each team, plus one neutral. Each team only respawns when they secure an objective. Secure all objectives or eliminate all enemy to win. Every life counts, making this a very suspenseful experience dependent upon teamwork.

Skirmish --- In addition to three territorial objectives, each team has a supply cache to protect. Teams gain extra reinforcement waves until their cache is destroyed. When both teams have lost their caches and all reinforcement waves, it becomes a Firefight match.

Occupy --- There is one central territorial objective in the area. The team that controls it does not deplete reinforcement waves. This gameplay in this mode is reminiscent to King of the Hill or "tug of war".

Ambush --- A high value target ("HVT") must be escorted to an extraction point. It's one team's goal to make this happen and it's the other team's goal to stop this from happening at all costs. The HVT is only armed with a silenced pistol, but can pick up a weapon from a fallen enemy or teammate.

Strike --- Three weapon caches must be destroyed by the attacking team to achieve victory. Destroying a cache earns the attackers more reinforcements and time on the clock. The defenders must retain at least one cache from being destroyed and eliminate the enemy team once their reinforcements run dry.

Infiltrate --- The standard Capture the Flag mode, but with a twist. Your team's goal is to take the enemy's intel and return it to your base. Your team will only gain reinforcements when someone takes the enemy's intel, or when an enemy stealing your team's intel is neutralized. This mode requires very strong team coordination and strategy.

Flashpoint --- One neutral territorial objective and two caches on each side. The goal is to secure the entire area, controlling the middle and destroying the enemy's caches. Your team respawns when they secure the territorial objective or destroy a cache objective.

Elimination --- In this single life mode, attackers must destroy one of two weapon caches, or eliminate the enemy team within the time limit. Defenders must kill all attackers.

Cooperative Game Modes


Checkpoint --- Complete mission-based objectives in sequence against AI enemy. Each successful objective will respawn anyone who was eliminated along the way.

Hunt --- Insurgents are dispersed in the environment, and your squad must eliminate all targets while locating and destroying the weapons cache. High on tension, with only one-life.

Survival --- Play as Insurgents and fight against endless waves of progressively difficult Security enemies on night themed maps. Reaching safehouse objectives with your team earns you supply to purchase better weapons and spawns any dead teammates.

Outpost --- Defend your supply cache against endless waves of enemy trying to destroy it. Each successfully defended wave will bring in reinforcements of your teammates.

Conquer --- Capture the objectives in the area and defend them from enemy trying to retake them. Destroy enemy weapon caches to thin out their numbers.

Here are some pros and cons for this game.
Pros-
-The sniper classes work well, and the pistols are nice.
-Has a few decent maps.
-The game itself looks decent.
-Runs smoothly.
-Cool community

Cons-
-Anything that isn't a sniper rifle or pistol has an unrealistic amount of kick for a trained soldier.
-Some maps have an insane amount of fog making it impossible to see people even with a sniper rifle.
-Any night map is unplayable, because of how dark it is, and people blend into the background. Some other maps have a really bad layout and on one map the one side has a high point advantage making it hard for one team to push or even fight back.
-Night Vision Goggles? Yeah no, just insane brightness that kills your eyes.
-Failed realism. Aimed for realism with a 1 hit kill with pretty much any gun, but as already stated they didn't put realistic recoil, weapon spread, loadouts(about to talk about this more)
-The class loadouts are strangely done. When picking certain attachments, and what not for classes you have a limited amount of points for items in your layout. Are you on a terrible night map, and want to try the broken NVG? Now you have to choose what you want to keep at attachments for your guns, and use some of those points for Night Vision Goggles. You are probably thinking that seems balance, but it isn't. Do you want a scope, silencer, and the NVG? Sucks for you, because you can only have two of those things at a time which limits you.
-1 - 2 hit kill system. As I stated they aimed for realism when it comes to killing people, but that is where they stopped. Since they didn't actually make anything else realistic, they should have not made the kill system realistic.
-Respawning in waves. The only game my friend, and I could get in within 2 hours was Push. The system is insanely flawed. If one team pushes another team back they can easily spawn kill. They can just camp the spawn (it being all in one little area) and mow the one team down until they run out or reinforcements.
-Horrible hit registration. I had my shots "miss" multiple times when I was aimed on a guy standing still when I was using a sniper rifle. The bullet would go through them, and this happened to my friend playing with me while he was using the m4a1.
- No competitive as of 2016-07-01. (July, 1st, 2016). Although competitive mode for this game is in production it is not yet, and the game has been out for over 2 years.

Conclusions:
With the many problems I faced while playing this game, and lack of a competitive mode I cannot recommend this game to anybody. Although I can see that the developers worked hard on this game, I do not believe it is a purchase that is worth the price. At $16.99 CDN full price, or $5.09 sale price I do not believe either of those prices are worth it.

Highly recommend this game to anyone who likes a more realistic shooter, but can't run something like battlefield or arma, etc. The workshop community is great, lots of great mods that cover a wide range of things. Community is great and not full of 12 year old ♥♥♥♥♥ who ♥♥♥♥ed my mom last night. A lot of the times, you will run into players that you've played with. Best game you can get for the price, especially when it's on sale! 10/10 ♥♥♥♥ing love this game to death!

The most hard core shooter ever. Wonderful game. There are no unlocks or significant leveling system, but there is huge mod support because the game is on the source engine. Very unforgiving, very realistic, definitely worth 20 bucks.

If you are driven away by the Source engine, keep your eyes peeled for the sequel which will be released on the Unreal 4 Engine in less than two years.

For 15 dollars, I got:
-24+ maps
-Interesting gunplay mechanics
-32+ weapons
-Fun and balanced gun customization
-Fantastic mod support
-13+ gamemodes
-Immersive and detailed gameplay mechanics
-Arguably some of the best graphics you'll see on source engine
-An awesome community (players and developers)
-Free DLC

For 15 dollars, I didn't get:

-Season Passes
-Half-♥♥♥♥♥ "DLC"

This is the kind of game you expect to run like Battlefield or Call of duty.
But then you come back with PTSD.

This game is basic.
Or, rather, all about the basics.
It's you.
It's your gun.
It's your team.
It's the enemy.

There are no health bars, no kill streaks, no indicator on how many enemies are down, or if you did or did not kill someone. It's simply about trying to best your opponent.
As someone who leads a team of over 30 players into the field, lemme give you a piece of advice. Learn the maps. Knowing where your enemies are most likely to be expected will win, or loose the game for you. Coordinate with your team, this is one of the games where the VoIP feature is realoly an asset instead of a nuisance. Sound is important - listen to the footsteps around you. Maybe one of the enemy team is distracted enough to call his teammates on the radio close to you, enabling you to hear their strategies. Find the balance between being aggressive, or waiting for an enemy's failure - One shot can and will often mean your death, but being too slow can mean inevitable defeat.

If you're not that much into the PvP high pressure aspect, however, this game also features an extensive CoOp-mode with five (!) different modes and loads of servers out there.

If you will, please trust someone who spent over 300 hours into INSURGENCY: This game, although extremely cheap, can rival every single triple-A title in terms of content, with the only disadvantage being the game's somewhat inferior graphics (Source Engine) and a lack of a real Ladder or Ranked-system.

Just, don't expect to be instantly rewarded for kills like in CoD, in BF or even in CS:GO. Killing someone is fine. But at the end of the day, You Are A Team. And you will Win Or Fall as a team.

Insurgency - A Game you should have played.Its a great.The Graphics might be not the best,in fact Insurgency use an older Source Engine but the Explosions and the Weapon Finish looks awesome.You can choose between Insurgents and Security,each Faction has his own Weapons and Classes.Theres tons of Guns such M16,AK47,Galil,RPG-7,RPK and many many more,you wont miss any in this Game,trust me.The Community is nice,you will experience alot of People screaming "ALLAHU AKBAR" after shooting their Rocket launcher or at the end of the Match (im one of them).Also,Steam Workshop provides lot of Community-made Skins for Character Outfits,Weapon Mods such as Scopes,Maps and many more.This Game is pretty Hardcore compared to Call of Duty,Battlefield or CSGO.At the beginning its bit hard to understand what to do,where to go,where the enemy is coming from and so on.At this Point Insurgency is lot harder than the Competition and you will spend hours of hours to learn this Game.I can recommend this Game anyone who likes hardcore FPS.

Insurgency is an industry-defining FPS with beyond excellent graphics, challenging gameplay, and a plethora of gamemodes and community addons. It's almost as if Battlefield, Modern Warfare 2, and CounterStrike had a perfect baby with no bad genes.



One of the most revolutionary aspects of Insurgency is the concept of supply credits. No longer will people run around with a completely decked out rifle, three grenades, heavy armor, and a rocket launcher! Additionally, depending on the class and mode you're playing on, you may not even have enough for any one of those things. And if that wasn't challenging enough by itself, there is also a weight limit. You'll rarely run afoul of it, but when you do, you'll definitely know.

An interesting feature I have not mentioned yet is the solo gamemode. Unfortunately, there is no storyline, but the Solo mode allows you to play any mode, on any map, day or night, all by yourself. Oh, and the bots are ferocious. It's a wonderful way to practice getting familiar with weapons and maps before trying your hand at cooperative or even multiplayer. There's also a tutorial. I highly suggest you run through it, as it teaches you some very important tricks and movement commands.

The Cooperative mode pits you and up to seven other people against bots that want nothing but to take your head off, literally. Whether you're running between safe houses trying to keep everybody alive, systematically clearing the whole map via checkpoints, or just shooting as many as you can before succumbing to an unavoidable RPG, you'll find that communication is key to victory. You'll find that it is a great way to develop the communications skills needed to play competitively, should you desire to do so.

I want to take a moment to acknowledge the absolutely incredible community integration that New World Interactive supports. Everything from custom sounds to scope replacements are available on the Steam community, and all for free. Of course, if a server operator wants to turn these off, that is also available. As per Source2 tradition, server-side mods are very prolific and always available.

Multiplayer is the most saturated of the available modes, with many NWI and private servers alike filled up to the brim with fellow players. Massive battles for control points, weapon caches, and survival dominate your environment, and sometimes you'll have to do it at night, too. God help you.

In early alpha is the competitive matchmaking element. I am hesitant to like this, as professional competitive players also inadvertently bring their snotty, immature fans to the game and, just like CounterStrike Global Offensive, these underage brats ruin not just the competitive element but every mode they abuse, cheat on, and scream at in Russian. It's not easy to play this game though, so hopefully the trash will be limited to the already overplayed modes.

Overall, Insurgency is a very excellent game, and for all the reasons above, is deserved of $14.99 US Dollars. I reccomend this game highly to anyone seeking a challenge, teamplay, and lots of tension. Have fun, and I'll see you in the mountains of Peak. :)

If Arma stuck his **** inside CS:GO's ***** and they had a child, this would be pretty close to the result

Super fun. Awesome explosions, suppresion, and gun fire. Very realistic to. Get the realistic gun fire sound mod and the "allahu akbar" sound mod. Makes it that much more intense. Would definately recommend
