"I’m rather enamoured by the unique flavour of online combat presented by Chivalry. It’s fresh and fun, and like the very best games is easy to get into yet incredibly hard to master."

About This Game

Besiege castles and raid villages in Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is a first-person slasher with a focus on multi-player. Featuring competitive online combat that seeks to capture the experience of truly being on a medieval battlefield. Inspired from the intensity and epicness of swordfighting movies such as 300, Gladiator and Braveheart, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare aims to bring that experience to the hands of a gamer.

The game is skill-based and controls like an FPS, but instead of guns and grenades, players are given swords, shields, maces, battleaxes and longbows. Set in a fictional, yet gritty and realistic world, players will fight in fast paced online battles besieging castles, raiding medieval villages and fighting for glory in the arena with up to 32 players.

Key Features:

  • Deep melee combat system provides players with a huge range of responsive combat options
  • Adjust your attacks and blocks in real time with the mouse for precise and full control of the action
  • Wield an arsenal of up to 60 brutal weapons ranging from broad swords and battle axes to longbows and javelins
  • Dynamic objective system brings team tactics and strategy to the forefront as players batter down gates, raid villages and assassinate enemy royalty to achieve victory.
  • Use a variety of siege weapons ranging from catapults, boiling oil, ballista, battering rams and more
  • Vast, lush environments that transport the player to a gritty and immersive medieval world.
  • Offline play options that allow players to gain familiarity with the controls and gameplay before being thrust into the action.

A very fun and enjoyable game highly recommend

Let me tell you a story:

It was a Saturday night, I had just gotten back from a party and I wanted, no needed to play some games. I chose Chivalry because I hadn't played it for weeks. I had been oddly thinking about Batman for some reason. And then it hit me. I will become the Dark knight himself by punching and kicking my way through the forces of evil. Yes, In a world full of Messercopters and Poptart shields, I will become the hero Chivalry has, but probably doesn't need. I joined a server. The map was Dining hall, and people where dying left, right, and center. Men armed with abnormally large hammers could be seen terrorizing the populace. I sheathed my sword, and out came my trusty fists. I'd seen a man's head get squashed right before my eyes. Taken aback by such cruelty, I chased after the murderer and hit him in the back of his thick golden helmet. He appeared a bit disoriented as he groggily swung his hammer. It hit me in the stomach, knocking me out for the count. The referee had just gotten to 10 as he too fell to the men with hammers. It hurt to much to get up for the judge's final decision, as my assailant taunted over my unconscious body. I woke up an hour later. My guantlets had been bloodied. I had slain 9 crooks, and everyone else had died. Seeing that I had obviously emerged victorious, I leaped out the window. I never really did learn how to fly, and the plated armour (lol) I had been wearing didn't appear to have a cape attached to it. Damn you Alfred. I hit the ground with a loud thud. I got up and walked off. Chivalry still hadn't been purified of the evil that I set out to destroy. But the day was mine and that's all that mattered.

Piece of unbalanced garbage, too many skins so you can't see if enemy or friendly, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s all over the place, unplayable if you are get a higher level than 15 because then, all your enemies will be atleast 30+ level player which is just like comparing global elite to silver 1

This game started off sooooooo good. You felt like a powerful medival warrior...

At least it used to be.

Knight class (Heavy Armor) got nerfed so now it gives you only one more hit than a man-at-arms (unarmored).
Same with the vanguard.

Archers are limited to only 3 a team, so expect to never get to play them.

To many DLC weapons and skins. It can be real confusing when trying to tell if your opponent is on your side (several skins run about without shirts on) and you never know what the other guy is swinging at you.

The worst thing is the "rank up" system.
It tracks your skill purely by how many battles you've been in, it doesn't matter if you do well or not.
After rank 15, I got it in a week, you are dumped into the same player pool with everyone rank 15 to 100, and most of them will be in the 30s or higher.

Play until you hit rank 15, after that the game loses any value of fun.

I did really like this game, and I put a bunch of time into it, but the developers have been making a lot of bad choices in it's updates since launch, and are slowly killing the game.

P.S. - Do NOT waste your money of the Deadliest Warrior version. It is everything wrong with this game, and so much more.

Can take heads off. 10/10 would buy again

All jokes aside, chivalry is a great game. I remember my first time playing, hardly getting 4 kills but being happy at the end of the match just because of the pure enjoyment and rush of battle.

This game really needs some more population, at least for the central United States area. Most servers that are populated now days are east coast servers that I'll do good to get ping around 80 or so, instead of the 30 and below mark. Ping is crucial to enjoying this game. Lag kills the fun. Everyone knows that.

I have a few words of wisdom to all players considering buying the game or players who are just new to the game. Chivalry is a fairly straight forward game, though there is a very steep learning curve if you so choose to progress in the game. a good 85 - 90% of the people you run into will be seasoned and have many tricks up their sleeve, thus making it extremely difficult for the newer guys to have fun and stick with the game. I've seen it many times. Example, a level 17 going against a horde of level 35's who have been trained by vets or are on alternate accounts. Usually the 17 will just quit out of frustration and never play again because they literally stand no chance. That was their experience of the game. Some will argue that "That's what the level 0 - 15 servers are for..." But, what good does that do if you have the people making alternate accounts to exploit the low level servers? On top of that, from level 0 - 15, in an environment made strictly of those levels, you will NOT learn how to efficiently protect yourself from the higher level and more experienced players. as soon as you hit 16, you're thrown out with the sharks. The point of all this being to practice, ask questions to the higher level players, look up videos, and observe.

My overall review would be to recommend you purchase the game. But do it knowing what you're getting yourself into. Hope the review helps you gain an understanding of what this game consists of nowdays. Good luck my friends.

To coat it plain and simple this game ♥♥♥♥ing sucks after getting to rank 44 nothing surprises me anymore. I see the same overused tactics like the reverse overhead and the 360 spin, it's just boring when all high levels just do this and the same loadouts e.g the norse sword or the mual. Every high level in this game is a cancerous ♥♥♥♥ constantly teaming in ffa and they will kick you if you own them.

TL-DR: Wait for Mordhau

got a heavy crossbow and started shooting enemies as they tried to cross a bridge. Killed some, hurt others and eventually I ran out of ammo, so I started charging with a shortsword. Cut a dude's arm off, and had a lengthy fight with an armored dude, was countering all his hits and was trying to stab him, when a teammate with a massive battleaxe charged through, chopped both our heads off, and then got nailed on the rocks behind him from a mounted ballista.

10/10 would medieval again

Fun game, not easy enough for Russians, so servers aren't full of autism

Broken hitboxes. Strange maps. Sometimes fun, but mostly annoying as hell.
Armor just for cosmetic purposes. Doesn't feel like I'm playing as knight.
