Frame-rate Challenge Mode:
Sometimes the internet leaks into games, and even Zeno Clash 2 can’t escape. In this unique challenge, surreal wireframe enemies begin spawning with increasing frequency. The enemies still require skill to beat, but the waves are only limited by one thing: the PC’s performance. Eking every last ounce of computational horsepower will be the key to surviving as long as possible in this highly unusual challenge.

Coliseum Challenge Mode:
This wave-based attack mode will push players to the limit. 50 waves of enemies will spawn, with increasing difficulty. True mastery of Zeno Clash 2’s first-person combat system of deadly combos will lead brawlers to victory, but there is some respite between rounds as players will have access to the store to buy weapons, power-ups, even allies. Unlike the game, there’s no restriction on the number of allies either, so get ready for the most intense, all-out, battle royale in all of Zenozoik.

The Special Edition for Zeno Clash 2 includes:

  • ‘The Art of ‘Zenozoik’ digital artbook
  • Zeno Clash 2 Original Soundtrack

As in Zeno Clash 1, the bashing from a first person perspective is comfortable grip, intuitive and tactically. You don't just punch and kick, but dodge an incoming blow and ram a fist into your enemy's unsuspecting head. You grab beat an enemy and throw them into the clutches of the pain. All in a world whose idea of conceptual art has a post-it note "Buy more drugs". There are some strange creatures, giant tongues with limbs, horned wookiees, the freakish Foot Collector dwarf, clockwork zombies, and stocky elephant men, just to name a few.
The story is very simple, defeat a big bad Golem and save the world. If that makes no sense to you, it’s your fault for not playing the first Zeno Clash you turkey, as the sequel makes no bones about referencing events in its predecessor.
So you're abruptly dropped into this crazy world without any sort of preamble about what's going on.

The fight is immensely satisfying and laid a solid punch behind solid punches. In Zeno Clash 2 almost every battle is against multiple opponents, often overwhelmingly. It's a brutal combat style that worked great in the first game, and unsurprisingly does so here too. It's arguably the best first-person melee ever, bringing a little Punch-Out! into a gloriously crazy fantasy world. The game features an upgrade system where you can put points into a number of different stats — health, attack power, etc. But you gain these upgrade points by finding totems that are tucked into corners and cubbyholes across each level.

There are fantastic and fantastic sights to almost anywhere in the world , a couple looking so stunning you just stop for a while and make sure that you got a screenshot. there’s the open world, which is really more a series of static, semi-linear environments that you can freely travel between when not in the middle of a story segment.

If you're looking for something different, Zeno Clash II is maybe your game. An exercise in apathy, neither Solid nor Liquid. Not exactly bad, but not very good either. Just a bit 'meh. Zeno Clash 2 will not be for everyone, and its low budget does show through. It's worth experiencing for those who loved the original, because it still contains a lot of what made that title unique, and the combat when not descending into huge brawls is wonderful. The game is for genre fans, but at least you can still punch bird people.

Score: 63 / 100

Zeno Clash II might be the most unlikely sequel in recent gaming history given the first game’s status as a thoroughly bizarre first-person brawler some consider to be a cult classic. The story is often confusing and poorly conveyed through incredibly stilted dialogue delivered by in-game cutscenes. Navigation is a constant source of frustration as the game will decide to leave player’s without an objective marker and no clue as to where to go next. Melee combat takes up the majority of the mechanics and it largely works. The confusing narrative, poor voice acting, and lackluster puzzles make the game hard to love, but if “weird” is your niche, this trip offers some solid entertainment. The game’s utter oddness is enough to grab the attention of the average gamer, but its on-and-off mission structure isn’t going to keep them for long and once again fisticuffs in first-person proves problematic.Hugely imaginative but slightly irritating. Overall 6/10.

I was fascinated by the dreamy and surreal atmosphere of the game. You don't realize how utterly conventional most game worlds are until you've played Zeno Clash 1 and 2. The gameplay is solid, the fights are a lot of fun, but the star of the show is clearly the alien world with its inhabitants. I recommend this game to anyone who's grown tired of the same old 3D shooters over the years.

First off, if you haven't play the first Zeno Clash, it will be impossible to grasp the continuing story. So go play that first. Beyond its awesome melee combat system, words still don't do this game justice. It's just something that has to be experienced firsthand. This second Zeno Clash builds upon the first making it more open world, adding a few usable items for your character, and adds some new combat moves. The story, characters, monsters, weapons, and scenery are just as wacky as the first. The only thing I didn't like was the new "Lock-on" feature which seemed to make combat a little more clumsy than before. Other than that, this is a brilliant sequel.

Zeno Clash 2 is way too underrated... It's so much better than the original game, yet almost the same... feels like developers made a game that first Zeno Clash was meant to be.

Best attribute of this game: it's entertaining! That's a win for me. Most modern AAA games are not as entertaining as this game.
Zeno Clash 2 features:

+Interesting world / story.
+Gameplay / combat is challenging and well balanced.
+Game visuals / characters / levels are gorgeous (Seriously, I took 100+ screenshots while playing it).
+Immersive, beautiful soundtrack.
+I really like voice acting in this game.
+Skill points granted for exploring and not for killing stuff.
+You don't have to take part in every random encounter / fight your way through a level you've already visited... or you can, if you really like to punch faces :D

All this makes you want to come back to the world of Zenozoik and explore it. Of course, some things could be done better:

-Most cutscenes are a bit lifeless (despite good voice acting).
-The biggest and potentially most difficult encounter during the story can be easily avoided by running to the level transition.

So yeah, I highly recommend this game, it's really charming and brings out unique experience!

A truly fantastic game, the first person brawling is well implemented and unique. The environments and character design are truly breathtaking. The story is deep and heartfelt. This game represents the potential of games as an art form and it is made even more incredible by the fact that it was created by such a tiny team. I cannot praise this game highly enough it is a work of art that is the pinnacle of it's form.

Fancy walking around some nightmarish 1970s sci-fi artwork thumping creatures in the face (sometimes kicking them when they are down)? I'm not sure I did, but I had a lot of fun.

Zeno Clash is niche. It is also obtuse and unfriendly to newcomers. There are no tutorials (apart from a couple of screen prompts in your first fight); there's no journal, no quest log, no helpful NPCs offering guidance on what to do or where to go. There are entire sub-plots you could miss by not going into the right house in the opening city (which gives no indication it is a hub area). This really is a game in which you are dumped in a world, given the lightest of prods in the direction of a story - and then get left on your own. Persevere and you might end up loving it.

I loved it. The game is pretty short (6 hours or so), the controls are clunky (there's one fight which requires a special ability that will have you gnashing your teeth), but the combat is satisfying, the game is beautiful and it is unlike anything I've ever played (though I might now have to check out Zeno Clash 1).

If you are fed up of being spoon fed AAA baby food, this comes highly recommended.

It has been a while since I have played the First Zeno Clash and I didn’t remember much from it when I started playing the sequel. From the first few minutes in I knew it will not be disappointing.

The story was amazing and the world was simply breathtaking, I have found myself playing for hours, completely detached from the reality. The best way to describe the experience would be to say: I was dreaming, a dream so unique and intriguing that I was starting to doubt my own sanity.

The gameplay is challenging and controls are complex. To elaborate further: I have never had a chance to execute any of the advanced combinations in any fight, simply because almost always survival came first. Trying to recall and execute a six step combo is simply impossible when you are being attacked by multiple opponents.

There aren’t many games like this one out there. Give it a try!

one of the best Melee games i have ever played to date...

inventory system - 6.5/10 - very limited, i guess adds to the survival factor of the game. - if that even made sense >.<
combat - 8/10 - very easy when you get use to it.
graphics - 7.5/10 - some part of the maps are very detailed, astonishing graphics, very artistic.
story/plot - 5.9/10 - very confusing, funny at times.

overall = game is worth buying at discounted price!

Zeno Clash II is one of those games you probably ignored because it's not an AA title or underwhelming lack of fan base. But when I got my hands on this gem, I was overwhelmed with the weird but magnificent artwork and stunning world this game offers. The ambient sound and the smoothing music makes you feel like you are indeed in a dreamlike world out adventuring to find your missing brothers/sisters and kicking some monsters' ♥♥♥ along the way.

The gameplay is a fresh approach in an fps game where you punch, kick and smash opponents with a caveman-like hammer or other weird things you can pick up. There is also some puzzle elements scattered all over the map and when fighting bosses which will make it a non-repetitive experience. There are many combos you can master, but honestly I find myself using the same moves over and over again.

This game is a must for people who loves to experience a surreal fantasy world while doing some adventuring.

Graphics: 8 - The stunning visuals and surreal world is the number one factor that made this game great.

Performance: 6 - Though it uses some great shadows and lighting, the game suffers from heavy frame drops on some areas.

Gameplay: 7 - Not so many variety in weapons or effective combos to use. Puzzle elements is a plus and boss experience is great but its too easy once you figure out the pattern.

Sound: The ambient sound and music is excellent while the voice acting is great.

Overall Impression: 7 - Definitely a good game, get it on sale!

This game is weird. Let's start off by saying the potential of this game from an artistic standpoint is incredibly exspansive as is the story, there really is nothing out there like this and if there is I haven't seen it. I played this with a friend through co-op a day after it was released. There were a few bugs but nothing that ruined our experience. The important thing is we had ALOT of fun playing this.

However this games ambition seems to have swallowed all the potential content. It tries to be a big open world adventure but it still has the small studio budget logic and unfortunately it shows especially in the big open areas, there are just vast areas of quite frankly, nothing and It's dissapointing that this studio can't get a bigger budget because these guys are really the only ones brave enough to go that extra mile with the weird and wonderful. Something that very few game studios do nowadays.

The combat was in my opinion better in the first game, if they put as much effort into putting originality into their characters and strange locations as they did their combat mechanics they would be on to a winner.

For a unique and different experience I'd recommend this game but I highly recommend you bring a friend along, Zeno clash 2's odditties are unique and special but it's sure lonely in the world of Zeno. I also recommend you play the first Zeno Clash because the story does follow on to Zeno Clash 2.

Just like Zeno Clash 1. Confusing, weird and full of punching stuff. If I wasn't playing on wood, I would be able to make some nice combos but whatever. Punching stuff is fun. And weapons... or rather tools work really... indirectly.
Errr... as I said this game is weird but that makes it good. Recommended.

People will spend a lot of time citing how bizarre Zeno Clash is, rightly so but it also overshadows the fact that this game is also a great brawler, with interesting characters and story to match the strange setting. Visually it's indeed a splendour, wierd and wonderful with all kinds of cool details to the world and it's inhabitants. Despite it being such an odd place you get really immersed in it thanks to the physiciality of the combat and your interactions. Even the games guns are clunky constructions made of bone and wood. In all, everything has weight. There are also a host of welcome improvements over the first installment. We get to spend less time with the Corwids of the original but in exchange we visit so much more of the land, get more challenges and tools at our disposal. Keeping this fighting game interesting, mechanically for it's dozen hours is quite the feat. Side quests often reward you with valuable items and weapons. Totems too encourage you to explore, to level up and make the game a bit easier given how tough the combat can be.

It's a little clunky though and overall the game lacks the polish of AAA titles. Voice acting ranges from good or solid to the outright bland but it never got distracting. It also strains at the seams to hold the games scale in place. But for the breadth and depth of it's ideas, as well as the colourful execution, it's absolutely a must play for those seeking something different.
