Frame-rate Challenge Mode:
Sometimes the internet leaks into games, and even Zeno Clash 2 can’t escape. In this unique challenge, surreal wireframe enemies begin spawning with increasing frequency. The enemies still require skill to beat, but the waves are only limited by one thing: the PC’s performance. Eking every last ounce of computational horsepower will be the key to surviving as long as possible in this highly unusual challenge.

Coliseum Challenge Mode:
This wave-based attack mode will push players to the limit. 50 waves of enemies will spawn, with increasing difficulty. True mastery of Zeno Clash 2’s first-person combat system of deadly combos will lead brawlers to victory, but there is some respite between rounds as players will have access to the store to buy weapons, power-ups, even allies. Unlike the game, there’s no restriction on the number of allies either, so get ready for the most intense, all-out, battle royale in all of Zenozoik.

스페셜 에디션

The Special Edition for Zeno Clash 2 includes:

  • ‘The Art of ‘Zenozoik’ digital artbook
  • Zeno Clash 2 Original Soundtrack

Zeno Clash 2 is way too underrated... It's so much better than the original game, yet almost the same... feels like developers made a game that first Zeno Clash was meant to be. Another neat thing is that the storyline is connected. So I highly suggest you play Zeno Clash before picking up Zeno Clash 2, as you most likely won't understand the story behind Ghat's 'family' and what happened to it in the events of the original.

Pros~
Unique enemy designs
Areas to explore is unique and different from the last
Some RPG Mechanics
Very nicely done FP Melee
Good Voice Acting

Cons~
If you never played the first game then you will not understand anything that is currently going on in Zenozoik
Some of the secodary items have to be used in combat which makes it slightly difficult when being beat on and what not.
Short game

Zeno Clash 2 blooms with a colorful thoughtful world and is truly an under-rated and under-appreciated title on Steam.
Worth the money? Definitely worth the full price even if you do not buy it on sale

I've mixed feelings about this game, and I can't be sure if a review might have you decided to buy or even play this game. In terms of gameplay it is so robust. At a given moment I thought this was one of the worst games I've tried. Combat might seem pleasant to watch, at a first sight, but don't fall for it. The fuel resource of fight (somekind of breath bar) is way to slow to charge, and definitely a game breaker. Hits that don't land, combo sequences that aren't easy to grasp and and lack of responsivity helps to create a sensation of unfatomable failure of gameplay mechanics.

Yet I like what they've done.

The stranger-left-aside feeling is a constant when playing the first Zeno Clash, and this sequel brings some closure to much of the mysteries the first game held. Not sure if was a good decision, since I doubt anyone strived through Zeno Clash only because of the narrative. I believe the narrative should be suspended and we, the players, should be allowed to draw the significance for each element that ilustrates a very complex and artistical chimeric creation.

In its original art concept Zeno Clash is a book of sand, different from that other of Dark Souls. Dark souls had its mystery dissipated by the community of players, who helped to invent the mythos. I feel that Zeno Clash had a shrouded mystery that was put there without intent, but lacked vivid explanations. The sequel (Zeno Clash II) is focused in developing the disastrous story they put up at the first game.

Buy it if you are feeling adventurous.

(bought during summer sale, of course).

Zeno Clash 2 is the sequel to ACE Team's fantastic Zeno Clash, which should already be obvious by the name. Seriously though, I must congratulate ACE Team, since they delivered a great follow-up to an excellent game.

In this game, we still play as Ghat. After the events of the first game, the North Golem has established a prison in Halstedom, and imprisoned FatherMother in it. However, Ghat isn't happy with the Golem trying to impose his rules, and so he, along with his sister Rimat, start a "quest" to kick the Golem out of Zenozoik.

The combat system has been greatly improved; now there's a lot of different attacks, and you can chain them up into powerful combos, and weapons have received changes as well; they now feel a lot more satisfying to use, although nothing can beat punching the face of every opponent you meet with your bare hands. Now this game is a lot more open than the first one; while the story progress in a linear way, the game world allows you to revisit areas after you acquire new abilities, allowing you to find new paths and such. There's also an air of RPG mechanics, since you can level up certain stats, and a few characters offer you sidequests which reward you with new weapons, abilities, or allies.

The game also features a coop mode, with the second player taking the role of Rimat. While in singleplayer you can call Rimat and another ally for some battles, it's in coop that the combat system shines. Not only will you both be kicking and punching your way around Zenozoik, but having a second player opens new possibilities: your friend can grab an enemy for you to kick at your pleasure; and it'll also make some of the fights more interesting, having someone to help you out that isn't AI controlled. It also features a challenge mode with three different maps: the Colosseum, where you fight 50 waves of enemies, with a brief time between waves to buy allies or upgrades (this one can be played coop, too!); the Framerate Arena, where you must keep killing enemies in order to keep your FPS count over 25; and the Rock of Ages challenge, which is like the Colosseum, only that you control the boulder from Rock of Ages, one of ACE Team's games, and you can only buy allies in the store.

The soundtrack is top notch; with different tunes for each area, including day and night tracks (yes, the game features a day/night cycle), and combat music. Very well done, in my opinion. And the level design leaves nothing to be desired, the world in Zeno Clash 2 is even more bizarre than its predecessor, and that's great. You'll find lots of interesting locations while you travel through Zenozoik. Another great thing about this game is that it fills a lot of details regarding the history of Zenozoik, while still leaving some things unanswered, which makes me wish for a third game, even when it does a good job at wrapping up Ghat's story, I still want to see and learn more of this world.

Well, I think that's enough for Zeno Clash 2. If you enjoyed the original, then you should definitely get this one, as it has everything that made the first one, and takes it up to eleven.

I had a wonderful time playing this with a friend of mine. The world is endlessly interesting, and the two Zeno Clash titles are really true works of art. I always seem to generate big ideas about what is happening in the game, and the oddity keeps anything from feeling overly familiar. In addition, the first-person punching combat is done quite well, and does not exist in many other games. It's quite satisfying to hit an enemy with a three punch combo, stun them, grab them, and deliver a piledriver.

Let me give you guys some insight. The first Zeno Clash was unique. It had style, an absolutely amazing fluid/fast paced combat system that is probably my favorite indie game of all time. But it was'nt without its downsides with the level design and lackluster boss fights.

Zeno Clash 2 I played for less than an hour and I hated it. Everything I loved about the first game dissolved away. The combat sucked, the story sucked, everyone felt so stale with no characterization. I wanted to love this sequel but when I saw the awful approach they took to it, I realized there was nothing here for me.

Zeno Clash 1 had many flaws but was an interesting concept. That said said I never finished ZC1 due to its flaws.

I picked up Zeno Clash 2 as part of a bundle so cost me a few cents and it was a wasted purchase. I like the environment art style but it feels like they have tried to turn this into an RPG with quests, levels and the like.

I hardly scratched the surface and buggy glitchy graphics meant I had to restart the game twice.

Quickly got bored at the zero focus it has and dull combat. The first mission appeared to be find someone, hit him once/ Job done. Just don't waste your cash, 30 mins in and uninstalling, it is that bad

Combat is boring

The reason why Zeno Clash 2 wasn't tagged as a FPS is because you only "shoot" 10% of the time, while the other 90% is spent in melee combat. And while first person melee combat is a thing nowadays, most of them see players in sword fights or other similar melee weapons combat. Zeno Clash 2, however, focuses more on martial prowess, with emphasis on punches and kicks strung together into stylish combos, all seen from a first-person perspective. Playing Zeno Clash 2 is like watching one of those kung-fu action movies where the viewers get some interactive scenes to determine the plot advancement.

In some ways that is a great concept and a fresh introduction in the gaming industry, but it could be a bad thing. Despite the available number of moves and combos the players get in the game, unless you actually memorize each and every one of them you'll find that you'd end up repetitively spamming the same attacks anyway.

Overall it is a good game, maybe not the best game in the market, but good enough if you need to kill time. Or, in this case, punch and kick some time.

5 out of 10.

This is a really surreal first person brawler. The combat is satisfying, but can grind a bit after a while - but what you're really coming to a game like this for is the bizarre setting and characters. You could play it without the first game and not miss much as the story is so bizarre anyway, but it's worth playing both. It's not a must play, but this is a really unusual world, the likes of which you won't find elsewhere.

The first thing that came to my mind when I saw Zeno Clash 2 on Steam was;
"I definitely have to get this game."

Now, I have played the first Zeno Clash, and the second. I have completed both and there's quite a bit of things to say about both of them.

The vivid, quirky design of landscape, buildings, characters and items/weapons is present in both games, and it's truly something refreshing that you don't actually see in every game out there.
The storyline, too -- is connected. The two are connected, so I suggest you play Zeno Clash before picking up on Zeno Clash 2, as you most likely won't understand the story behind Ghat's 'family' and what happened to it in the events of the original.

Now, onto the mechanics themselves. The game is a first-person brawler, and it's a bit easier than the original. (At least as I remember it, I've played it ages ago. Literally!) The mechanics of the brawling is actually great. Rarely ever will you run into a bug, and the new tools of the trade (Grenades, Chain, as I like to call it the Sun/Moon-strike gauntlet and the Golem Link are all amazing tools that are (later on) at your disposal. The game is very responsive and plays out well, the punches connect when they need to connect, and the special moves that you learn how to use in the tutorial or later on come to play when you fight a bit more advanced enemies.

Onto the world;
The world of Zenozoik is truly amazing. It's a 'civilization' between barbarism and chiefdom as described by one of the game characters you will (later on) absolutely love and root for. The locations! They're absolutely amazing, quirky and detailed just how they were in the first Zeno Clash. Now, for a fan -- this is not a bad thing! This is absolutely amazing as it has freshened up my memory on the world itself, especially the 'city' of Halstedom.

Now, if you're familiar with the game you'll notice a lot of old characters appearing, such as Rimat, Father-Mother, Pott and others. And they're spanking new amazing in the second edition. Also, guess who you'll encounter as well? Chneero! That's right! You'll meet Chneero, the one-legged Corwid! And you will love it.

The game sparkles with detail, and it's absolutely stunning. It has taken my breath a few times when I was watching the horizon over Zenozoik. Why? Well, you'll notice the level design -- which is actually original, and the character/monster designs that you haven't seen anywhere else, really.

Zeno Clash 2 blooms with originality and is truly an under-rated and under-appreciated title on Steam.
Worth the money? Definitely worth even more.

Zeno Clash2
8/10

The Good:

+ Although the gameplay is almost identical to the first, the level design has changed. Rather than being a linear adventure in the first game Zeno Clash 2 has large areas to explore interconnected with each other. This gives the world a more cohesive feel.

+ Each area to explore is unique and different from the last making it exciting when you reach new areas.

+ Both Zeno Clash games can not be faulted for being unoriginal. These games are some of the craziest, most unique and original ideas in a game. Everything from the world to the characters to the enemies makes for a very fresh experience.

+ Unique enemy designs

+ Artistically the game is nice with some really nice scenery, technically however I felt that it was average

+ Combat is fun, one of the few games that has done first person melee fighting successfully. In addition to straight combat, you can find weapons/guns or use your secondary items to defeat your enemies.

+ Some slight RPG mechanics. Scattered throughout the world are skill totems, fidning them gives you experience points where you can spend them on 4 attributes: Health, Strength, Stamina and Leadership.

Average:

-The game is somewhat easy, I had little trouble on normal and I don't think hard would have posed too much trouble either. One of the secondary items makes combat pretty trivial most of the time.

-If you never played the first game then you will not understand what the hell is going on. If you played the first then you will still be confused only slightly less. The story is decent but isn't presented as well as it should be and that is a shame because the story touches upon some interesting themes that should be expored further.

-The attribute leadership is somewhat of a useless stat. Leadership allows you to recruit allies to fight with you in many battles, a new addition to the game. The problem is, combat being easy and your AI companions being stupid doesn't make it a worthwhile stat, making it very meaningless.

Zeno Clash 2 is way too underrated... It's so much better than the original game, yet almost the same... feels like developers made a game that first Zeno Clash was meant to be.

Best attribute of this game: it's entertaining! That's a win for me. Most modern AAA games are not as entertaining as this game.
Zeno Clash 2 features:

+Interesting world / story.
+Gameplay / combat is challenging and well balanced.
+Game visuals / characters / levels are gorgeous (Seriously, I took 100+ screenshots while playing it).
+Immersive, beautiful soundtrack.
+I really like voice acting in this game.
+Skill points granted for exploring and not for killing stuff.
+You don't have to take part in every random encounter / fight your way through a level you've already visited... or you can, if you really like to punch faces :D

All this makes you want to come back to the world of Zenozoik and explore it. Of course, some things could be done better:

-Most cutscenes are a bit lifeless (despite good voice acting).
-The biggest and potentially most difficult encounter during the story can be easily avoided by running to the level transition.

So yeah, I highly recommend this game, it's really charming and brings out unique experience!
