alright the game is ugly as butts. ugly butts even. sometimes I feel like I'm charmed into the game's graphics and then it throws a curveball of ugly at me. it's a solid detractor, these blokes don't deserve a brush to sleep on, but anyway the soundtrack. just listen to the title theme for me. ohhh yeeeeaaah
anyway to sum it up this game is wasted potential, outside of being ugly. spells are cool but there are only a couple of types that not only repeat by element, they repeat when they're upgraded too. twenty hours of the same spells which is annoying because there are so many types of the same spells. different character types don't make a gogdam difference and nonspell items are kind of bunk. missions are always the same thing. I guess that's what procedural generation gets you, but seriously a mission one hour in shouldn't be the exact same twelve hours in. there are a couple of different types that are always the same and the game makes no secret of this. the city building is irrelevant because you can't fail at it. enemies are annoying with simple to erratic patterns subsisting mostly to run into the player. platforming is shoehorned and basically nonexistant, with dumb wood boxes excusing poor vertical random generation.
the game feels like playing an old elder scrolls game and not in a good way, melded with the bad parts of terraria, and an intense need to be unique. myself, I was kind of sickly drawn in to the ocd world this game creates, but this game is not fun to play. it is, however, interesting, so take what you will
