About This Game

MASTER THE ART OF WAR
In the darkest age of Japan, endless war leaves a country divided. It is the middle of the 16th Century in Feudal Japan. The country, once ruled by a unified government, is now split into many warring clans. Ten legendary warlords strive for supremacy as conspiracies and conflicts wither the empire. Only one will rise above all to win the heart of a nation as the new shogun...The others will die by his sword.
Take on the role of one Daimyo, the clan leader, and use military engagements, economics and diplomacy to achieve the ultimate goal: re-unite Japan under his supreme command and become the new Shogun – the undisputed ruler of a pacified nation.

Game Features

Total War: SHOGUN 2 features enhanced full 3D battles via land and sea, which made a name for the series, as well as the tactical campaign map that many refer to as the heart and soul of Total War. Featuring a brand new AI system inspired by the scriptures that influenced Japanese warfare, the millennia old Chinese “Art of War”, the Creative Assembly brings the wisdom of Master Sun Tsu to Total War: SHOGUN 2. Analysing this ancient text enabled the Creative Assembly to implement easy to understand yet deep strategical gameplay.
  • CONQUER the islands of Japan in the 16th century. Lead vast armies of samurai and fleets of giant warships into breathtaking real-time battles.
  • BUILD your kingdom on the inviting and turn-based campaign map. Wield economic, political, and military power to amass wealth, armies, and influence.
  • SCHEME according to the "Art of War" by Sun Tzu. Use fire and siege tactics, spies and assassins to adapt to the ever-changing conditions on the battlefield and throughout your kingdom.
  • BATTLE ONLINE and experience the main campaign in two-player mode. Then join epic online battles with up to 8 players and lead your online army to glory in special campaigns.

New to Total War in SHOGUN 2

  • New RPG skills and experience for your Generals and Agents.
  • New Multi-stage Sieges - scaling the walls is only the beginning!
  • New Hero units inspire your men and carve through the enemy.
  • New rotating 3D campaign map.

This is the game on max settings : http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=347828502

Field Rating Review
Graphics 9.5 The graphics are near perfect, something man hasn't been able to accomplish for a styled game like this. Of course a few minor flaws such as troops running into eachother or going through eachother etc. The scenery is absolutely beautiful on max settings, unit detail is exquisite. If you want to take some screenshots about the sengoku jidai period, this game is for you.
Gameplay 8 Gameplay is great, of course you need a beefy computer to be able to run maximum settings but it is well worth it. The morale system is perfectly balanced, Cavalry do their jobs just like real life counter-parts, ashigaru are ashigaru. Samurai are Samurai, better than ashigaru. The balance is great. The only problem is Multiplayer balance. The music is EXTREMELY well made. I am fully immersed while playing, Hell I would pay 15$ for the soundtrack.
Multiplayer 8.5 I was able to get my hands on a copy of Fall of The Samurai, here is my input : The game is balanced, the only balancing issue is artillery. Line infantry are easily countered and this game deserves it's high rating.
Co-Op 8 Co-Op only gets a 8 from me because I felt it could of been able to support 4 people instead of 2, of course it would take a long time to complete just one campaign together with 4 people. but it would be fun. Co-Op is overall extremely fun and has many replayabilities.
Campaign 9 Campaign is brilliantly done. so many ways you can replay it, so many difficulties ( Of course the difficulty is just cheap. ) This is all to say about campaign, find out yourself :)
Replayability 10 I can easily see people getting 3,000+ Hours on this game, theres nothing to NOT do. You can do campaign custom battles reinactments with friends conquer japan on multiplayer do Co-Op campaign, the possibilities are endless. Of the time i've had this the only reason I don't have over 3,000+ hours is because I have no friends to play with.
Overall 9.5 No game can be perfect, except this one. There are such tiny issues i've found its the only reason it's getting a 9.5. Other than that it would be a 10/10

Do you buy it? Why not. you won't find any other games like this for RTS ( Shogun 1 and maybe gekokujo for warband )

Have a grand old time.

First of all, I haven't played all games of the Total War franchise, only Medieval 2 and a bit of Rome 2, but Shogun 2 was the best so far. Its really captivating and its one of those games which can tie you to your chair for hours and hours, just like Anno 1503. I'm not bad at strategy games but I think that even for strategy newbies this game will be easily understandable and enjoyable.

Pros:

-The setting. Feudal Japan is cool, Samurais are cool, Ninjas are cool, being Shogun is cool.
-The graphics. Ok, the map is not the eyecatcher here but the battles are. The details are amazing and you can follow each samurai until his death.
-Intuitive control and UI. Its impressive how easy to understand this game is. The principles and priorities are clear, you don't have to search for anything and the interfaces for diplomacy, trading and all that stuff are well done.
-Sound in general. Wether its the effects, the music or voices (the japanese accent sounds great), everything feels right.
-The campaign. Its pretty long and its full of surprises, you can always do something in a different way than you did before.
-The characters. I'm talking about the generals, daimyos, ninjas, metsukes and all these people. I got pretty attached to them and it was exciting to see how they grew with the time (plus the skilltrees are awesome).

Cons:

-After you've finished the big campaign, there ain't much to do, you can go for the DLC's like Rise of the Samurai and Fall of the Samurai, but if you want to play the campaign again I noticed that you don't get any more clans that you can play, like in Medieval 2 for instance.
-Sometimes you have to repeat battles (if you mustn't lose them) and it can get pretty frustrating after the 17th try.

Conclusion:

I highly recommend this game and if you enjoy feudal japan and strategy games, get this game. Now.

An excellent game with good graphics, gameplay and sound. This game brilliantly mixes peace & serenity with battle & conflict. It was detailed enough for me to get immersed in Japanese culture and history and actually inspired my conversion to Zen Buddhism. It may seem drastic and far fetched but my life is better now because of this game. In my opinion the best Total War.

Uh
Not too sure what to write here so heres a recipe for Pancakes instead

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
2 large eggs, at room temperature
1 1/4 cups milk, at room temperature
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, plus more as needed

Now to make it
1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
2. In another bowl, beat the eggs and then whisk in the milk and vanilla.
3. Melt the butter in a large cast iron skillet or griddle over medium heat.
4. Whisk the butter into the milk mixture. Add the wet ingredients to the flour mixture, and whisk until a thick batter is just formed
5. Keeping the skillet at medium heat, ladle about 1/4 cup of the batter onto the skillet, to make a pancake. Make 1 or 2 more pancakes, taking care to keep them evenly spaced apart. Cook, until bubbles break the surface of the pancakes, and the undersides are golden brown, about 2 minutes. Flip with a spatula and cook about 1 minute more on the second side. Serve immediately or transfer to a platter and cover loosely with foil to keep warm. Repeat with the remaining batter, adding more butter to the skillet as needed.
6. Procedure for adding fruit to pancakes: Once the bubbles break the surface of the pancakes, scatter the surface with sliced or diced fruit, or chocolate chips, nuts, etc. Flip with a spatula and cook for 1 minute more, being careful not to burn toppings.

I was going to eliminate the filthy peasent Hojo clan, but my country had been starving due to me accidently misreading the food a certain unit would take. So when I was about to take the Hojo Clan's last army by force (We originally outnumbered them to about 3-1), the army that I trusted to be loyal to the cause of the Date, turned on me, just as I had approached the Hojo clan on the battlefield, leaving the Date and it's generals outnumbered 1-3.

Needless to say,

my generals didn't survive.

Nor did my hopes of becoming Shogun.

I is sad.

What to expect from this game:
-Vassals and alliances that refuses to trade with you or join your war
-Empty threats lowering your Daimyo's honor? Not sure how the threats are empty when I beat you guys into submission but hokay...
-Units taking 2 turns to return to the province he just left because whoever programmed unit pathing in CA failed grade school math
-Enemy navy that somehow retreats out into the ocean when you got 4 stacks of navy cockblocking the entire peninsula
-AI wooden cannon crossmap snipeing generals hidden in the woods on the other side of the map

But then there's also...
-Ordering a general to commit seppuku due to his treacherous loyalty from too much looting
-Spare the said general then have him defect mid battle
-Enemy generals trying to spiderman up a castle as they are being shot in the face
-Artillery that's more useful playing whack a mole on enemy troops than actually destroying walls
-20 year old geisha that looks like she is 40
-The said geisha spreading an eye of the lady debuff BECAUSE ALL YOUR MALE AGENTS AND GENERALS ARE INTO COUGARS AMIRITE
-Enemies that last samurai charge out of a siege leading to a massive turkeyshoot
