In short, I wouldnt get your hopes up, even tribes ascend; their RECENT game as of a year ago has been abandoned in favor of, "SMITE proving more successful than Tribes" -PCGames
Its a pretty ugly pattern even just watching from my satellite armchair or whatever. I remember vividly when GA First went free and how excited the devs were, "We're making way more money!" they cheered as I sat in PvP queue for 30 minutes, their programmers pushing another update back.
"This is way better than our old model" At the time I was happy, this meant a game I loved would be able to stay up longer because the company was financially sound for a bit longer. Maybe even long enough to join a PvP match as Recon

Fast forward to tribes ascend, a game of which its launch build I wouldve paid for, 20 or 30 dollars. Started free to play, thats fine. Cant fault a company for knowing on which foot to start-- Go free to play after mandatory purchase and youve just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off all the people who actually paid for your product.
After a while I noticed that most updates included some sort of bonus only available through your wallet, effectively roping off alternative gameplay styles until you grind the predesignated ones for a month or so. Sooner than I could say shazbot, Tribes too was dead.

The year is 2014, games like League of Legends and DoTA2 are and have been making embarrasing amounts of money (League moreso than dota, pushing mandatory purchases for certain items and characters, higher comp payouts, etc), so HiRez makes SMITE.
Now call me cynical, or jaded, or pessimistic (Please, its the only way i can get off), but that too is another desperate money grab by a company that will make their return and ditch yet another game.

There is no hope for GA, theres no hope for Tribes. If people had any sense, they wouldnt get invested in smite either because its just another step in HiRez' godzilla-inspired business model.

Give it a shallow burial, move on. Because thats what HiRez have done.

01-03-15 EDIT: I take it back, this game is more dead then Tribes. Since Tribes is still playable.

Its as dead as Tribes: Ascend is. The devs dropped this for Tribes: Ascend. Now they dropped that for S.M.I.T.E.

Don't bother installing its a ghosttown.

This was an incredibly fun game. It seemed to have limitless potential, but it died. Died so hard I am suprised to see it's even listed, I question whether or not the servers are even up.

Was great... now dead.

To whom it may concerns

GA – is like an ex-girlfriend. Fun memories, but I am not calling that number. I played 800+ hours in GA.
You do not know marketing!
You don’t have a way to receive feedback from smart players who test limits and capable of objective review.
Servers are not populated by new players, they are populated by “veterans” who keep playing the game after 10 hours of gameplay. You did bother to ask us if we cool with you PVP map filter that extended queue by 5 minutes, soon after by 15 minutes, as soon as you had your PVP queue at 20+ minutes at peak hours - I uninstalled the game.
Global Agenda 2 will have same result, if you will mess it up same way. I know this because you do not hear us, how can you work it out if you do not talk to us.

Multiple difficulty levels of raid for newbies and drunk vets
Double Agent is too much fun
Pain gun is an epic weapon I refuse to play any GA without it.
Don’t you dare filtering the damn PVP queue with map and type options it killed every game on Earth, and fire the person who thinks it is a good idea.

Dead. It's a PVP focussed game so PVE players will probably get bored pretty quicly. Early levels are fun and the gameplay is/was different to a lot of other MMOs on the market, but eventually you'll get bored of the same 3/4 PVE zones.

The game is like nothing i've ever played before, it takes the MMO aspect, mixes it with RPG and FPS in a way i've never seen before.

Positive
- The free roam map is big enough to contain lots of enemies and areas, but not to big that transversing it is painful
- The PvE bosses where challenging and had interesting arena's in which you fought them
- PvE enemies are well balenced
- The use of jetpacks made the movement enjoyable
- The 4 classes (Assault, Engineer, Medic and Recon) where all fun to play, and had skill tree's to offer different play styles for each class
- The clans actually had a purpose, they could fight for territory in AvA (Agency vs Agency) which provided massive rewards
- The leveling was well balenced, 5 levels wasn't the difference between a noob, and a god

Cons
- Since Hi-Rez ditched the game ( :C ) the PvP was nothing but no skill hackers
- Due to being dropped, small bugs/glitches where never fixed (constant crashing etc)
- Gaining levels without elite/booster was very slow
- To gain the higher teir items, it was all tokens/micro transactions. Money would stack up in the millions, useless
- To gain enough "tokens" would take hours of grinding, days even for the highest tier items
- The game became so un-populated due to the lack of support/updates

Long story short, a near perfect game, was ruined due to a stupid company, wish they sold off the title to a more deserving company

It's a great game for a first timer. Although the game might be dead, it is still worth a try.

If you have played Firefall before, this is the game that appears to be like Firefall, but a different storyline.

It takes place in the future year 2155, and you have been disconnected by a machine that enemies tried to destroy and kill you. You escape to Dome City, which is the home to your new start of life.

Overall, gameplay is very nice and it's not frustrating.

They gave up on this game for tribes, then gave up on tribes for Smite. Dont think i could recommend anything by them after a history of dropping games so soon and only being able to hardly keep up with one game at a time.

I put nearly 4000 hours into this game shortly after it went free to play, and it was a great experience. It stands today as an example of just how important active and well funded devs and GMs are to a game. I would have suggested you play it long ago, but now there is absolutely no reason to do so other than to see what COULD have been.

Long story short, HiRez pulled resources from Global Agenda to fund Tribes, and from Tribes to fund Smite.... they've shown a pattern, and for this reason I also don't suggest paying anything in any of their other games, and supporting this practice.

It is the best MMO shooter ever created, but it became very empty, only NA server is up(and i'm EU) and it kinda sucks to play with 140-160 ping sometimes. Anyway, lame developers decision just to let this game die. RIP
