What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I'm aiming to make this game has good of a horror experience as it can be, but I need valuable feedback from the community enable to make that possible. The hope is that Dark Home will be a great multiplayer horror experience with tons of stories for players to tell, but it needs to be fun and I need your feedback to guide me in the right direction.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I'm looking at 6 months to a year. There are several features I want to implement but these things take time.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will hopefully include a spirit designed specifically for each map, new maps, and randomly generated Dream Catchers on each map, as well as the listed known bugs to be fixed.
The goal is to make a multiplayer horror game that brings back the feeling of horror and tension.

These things take time and a lot of play testing for bugs and other issues.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“It's fully playable and easy to navigate as well as change settings and host servers. It does not require third party software.

In Dark Home, players must explore the dark orphanage in it's nightmarish setting enable find all the dream catchers and ignite them. But be warned, a spirit looks to add them to their collection of trapped souls that wander aimlessly in the dark. Currently the only map is the Orphanage and there is only 1 spirit; Rothsman. But I'm hoping to add more soon.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No. The price will not change when we leave Early Access and there are no current plans for paid-DLC either.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The hope is to have the community play it; record gameplay and be able to leave feedback on features, bugs in their gameplay videos so that I can accurately identify the problems and come up with solutions.”

About This Game

Dark Home is an asymmetric multiplayer horror game where players must work together with friends or alone enable to escape the nightmare of the Dark Home and the spirit that dwells within it.

All players play in a True First-Person view enable to increase immersion and accuracy.
One player takes the role of the spirit; a ghost that haunts a nightmarish pocket-dimension called the "Dark Home". The goal of the spirit is to find and eradicate the players within the nightmare.
The other (x) amount of players are tasked with finding the dream catchers and igniting them, weakening the nightmare and allowing them to escape. But they must be careful; the spirit is not alone in stopping the player. Trapped souls wander around the nightmare, looking to weaken the player and make them easy for the spirit to pick-off.
Will you escape the nightmare in this EARLY ACCESS title?

Dark Home was made in tandem with the book "Dark Home" by author Sandra Rains DeBusk.
